Battling The Storms Of Life | Devotional
Storms in life can come in many different forms. We often go to battle against these storms in our own strength and end up feeling defeated. In this short video devotional we learn the "secret" to winning these battles rests not in our own strength but His.

Hi! Thank you for informative reviews for X mid 1p (V1 vs V2). I’m Japanese guy considering purchase X mid 1p (V2?) now. Although no chance to buy V1 for me, could you recommend V2? I’m 6 feet tall (183cm).
Profound analogies and truth delivered with expert demonstration.
Thank you, Thomas. Praying for you and your ministry. Without Him I can do nothing.❤
Love your videos and devotions!!!
You are going to have to change the name because I am a woman and needed to hear this today.
I've been T1D all my life (37 years). - Insulin pens are the way to go, but I keep vials in my cooler in car at all time. I always bring two short acting, one long acting pen. I bring 30% more needles than needed. I bring 25% more energy than needed - Clif Shots have been the best. I have great communication methods just in case. (Inreach, etc) If your legs feel weird, check your blood sugar. If you're tired, check your blood sugar. If you're cranky, check your blood sugar. My big thing is when I start getting confused easy - typically low blood sugar.
I've seen Larry's demonstration live before at a Tres Dias weekend. It's great.
Great informational video for type 1 diabetics. It didn't seem slow and repetitive like some UA-cam videos are. And it wasn't too long for the amount of information.
One of the best and most concise devotions that I have seen. It's well worth the two minutes of your time!
Wow! I'm so proud of your endurance. I know the sights are breathtaking! Isn't God's Creation just absolutely amazing?! 💖 Thanks for sharing and, please, do be safe!😊
Woooooo!! Go Thomas!!!!
I expected something decent about blacksmithing, not this superstitious nonsense... 😐
The dishwasher. 😂
Great message Larry! Thank you for being a willing vessel to bring such a powerful message
Great video. Thanks for doing this question-and-answer video it helps a lot.
I could listen to my friend Larry speak all day long
Good job, Thomas!
I just saw the slip wall up close and it is a challenge!😮
💪
Hilarious!
Love this heads up on the slip wall obstacle!! 😂. Another must see video!!
Glad you liked it!
Looks like Charlie cheated by leaning into!!
Crazy good video!😂 Made me laugh! I think that I will just drive the tractor across when I participate in this obstacle course on Saturday, August the 26th!!
Thanks 👍
LOVE it!! Looks like total fun and hard work! 😊
Awesome
Blacksmithing is cool. Religous fanaticism is not.
Then move on...
Forged for this moment! Thanks for bringing your message to all of us.
Incredible tent, I have V2
Good comparison. Thanks. I prefer most Tarptent Dyneema tents even over the excellent Durston tents.
I re-treated my V1 silmylon this past summer - so three summers of trekking I think I got. I don't think I'd bother with the new one though it had crossed my mind. Your critique was pretty throrough. I can't see a compelling reason to buy new. I really like my Durston V1 one person tent. A thoughtful design and a thoughtful vid. Thanks
Thanks for the comment. It's about time we re-treat our V1 as well.
I found a way around zipper snag is to place a ground peg loop right at the vertical corner. I got so pissed at mine i added one and it seemed to have remedied the problem. so far. Fantastic cause btw. worthy of donation without a free tent. Thanks for your service.
Thank you.
Perfect video, exactly what I needed. I have been using the V1 and thought maybe I should get the V2. You helped me to understand there is no need. Thank you!
You're welcome. Glad it was of some help.
@@wildernessmenistry One thing I heard mentioned elsewhere is that the V2 is easier to pitch tightly/correctly. Did you find much of a difference there?
@@runningoffinstinct We actually found the opposite to be true. It could have been that we were so used to the V1.
@@wildernessmenistry Thank you, much appreciated.
@@runningoffinstinct Anytime.
Owning both v1 and v2, what I love most about v2 is the dark inner tent floor. This makes it MUCH easier to figure out where the inside and outside is on the tent when you're rushing to lay it out and get it pitched before the rain falls. I used the v2 for 13 days straight last summer and was surprised at how often I appreciated this feature. I'm a v2 fan for sure.
Absolutely gorgeous! What an amazing Father we serve!
what'up, Wilderness- ggorgeous content.see u around,
Thank you.
Hol up, a Christian ministry related to backpacking? I'M SUBSCRIBING RIGHT NOW.
Thanks.
An excellent review. Awaiting my version 1 X- Mid 1P I purchased second hand, can't wait to try it out in the bush.
I checked your channel and thank GOD you are not intentionally attempting to mock ALMIGHTY GOD
I got one when they 1st came on the market with the Drop program. Been thinking of getting the version 2 but after seeing this , I'm sticking with my version 1. If I ever decide that I need more room it will be the X-MID-2. ( 2 person )
Great comparison. Those are excellent tents. I see them on the trail all the time. Great video. New follower here. Crow
Thank you.
Your quality is through the roof I don't understand how you have so few subscribers. I'm +1ing that, excellent video.
Thank you.
I want a comparison of the x-mid 2 and the new x-mid pro. Trying to decide between single and double wall . I know one is 400 grams heavier but I sleep cold. Will it make much difference on a thru hike?
Condensation will be the main difference in performance. The single wall will have more. If you aren't touching the walls it won't be a problem.
Great stuff!
I recently had my first weekend with the version 2. I think I will like it, it's much different than my Big Agnes Copper Spur 2.
Interesting comparison especially the vent comments. Note that the original 2p had the vent on the long axis while all the 1p v1, the 1p v2, and the 2p Pro have the vent on the short axis. The problem with the vent on the long axis is it's harder to get to from the inside. The 1p v1 fixed that by putting the vent on the door side or short axis. Then the new 1p v2 some how got the zipper too far up as you noted diminished the vent size and function. Did you notice that the 2p Pro has the vent changed back to the 1p v1 style. It will be interesting to see how it is implemented on the 1p Pro; my guess is back to the way it was on 1p v1 style. Thanks for the comparison it was interesting, wonder if there will be a 1p v3 to return to the better vent style.
It would be nice if the 1P Pro has a vent similar to the 1P V1. We had the opportunity to test out the 2P (not Pro). While it was a bit more fiddly to set up since we were used to the 1P we can see where the 1P V2 got many of its new features from.
@@wildernessmenistry I think that there is a good chance that the vent on the 1p Pro would be similar to the 2p Pro design which as you suggested is better. By the way as you have several xmids I just saw the UA-cam called "Xmid2 - The Further Variation" (link below) which is a neat idea for xmid owners ua-cam.com/video/hbJ6dUDKqpA/v-deo.html
Thanks for this excellent review and for your work in helping people with substance abuse. I have a v1 and was thinking of getting the v2 but will keep my v1 and maybe get the v3 (when it come out!) What amazes me is how good the DD tent design is and that the Chinese haven't copied it as they (Naturehike) have with most other designs (eg Monger 2 vs BG UL2 Copperspur ).
You're welcome. It is surprising there isn't a knock-off. If course, what separates Dan's tents from others is the workmanship and choice of quality materials.
Hey no need for the hate bro be better, Chinese factories make 90% of all outdoor gear including the x-mids. I applaud all gear makers no matter what country they live in!
@@tamie341 Hi, @tamie341. No hating here. The issue is not really who makes the tent but rather theft of design. That is what Bea Diffield is referring to.
A really fabulous comparison. Thanks. I do also wish the pockets inside were larger like the V1 but if I can get my hands on a 1 or 2, I'll be trying to mod it :)
Thank you for the comment. We're hoping to get a "hacks for the V1" video out in the near future which will highlight improvements that can be made to the V1 -- taking the best of both versions-- that cost little to no money and add impressively insignificant weight (grams).
Great comparison! I've got the V1 too and it's nice to get a better look at what I'm missing or in this case, not missing with the V2. Though mine was also among the first ever batch to ship which had an issue with the grommets where the trekking pole tips go being too wide for some pole tips and thus putting too much tension on the fabric on the other side and causing a small tear on the outer fabric at the peaks. Easily fixed though with a small patch and modifying the grommets with some narrower rubber grommets inserted into the original grommets.
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate that Dan and his team work toward refining the tent rather than just adding some gimmick "improvements" to sell more. I was able to use a two person X-Mid the other day and noticed it had some of the same features as the V2 1P (such as the trekking pole floor pull-out and loft storage pockets).
Excellent cheers mate 👍
You're welcome. Thank you for the feedback!
Very useful review…thanks. My 1P is on order and I hope to get it this spring. I agree with you that the customer service from Dan Durston and his wife Tara is exceptional and one reason why I chose the 2P and now look forward to the 1P.
How have you liked the 2P?
@@wildernessmenistry I love it. Easy to set up, plenty of room for two people and gear. I used 25” pads and it was big enough for that.
