HOW MOTOR SKILL DELAYS MAY CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIAL SKILL DELAYS IN THE DEVELOPING CHILD
Переглядів 3502 роки тому
Clarification: the difficulty in the development of social graces is specific to the developing child, whether they have achondroplasia or not. More specifically it’s auditory processing and the ability to carry out motion at the same time, which becomes even more difficult when motor skill delays are a factor, which is the case in most children with achondroplasia. This does NOT mean that chil...

    How you felt was right, a normal reaction. He knew you were getting back at him. Had you taken a photo of his dwarf son... He would have gone through so much (in your shoes)... to the point of a stranger taking a photo of his dwarf son. He wasn't hit in his sensitive spot. You are so smart to have learned from that situation.

    The picture you keep showing of a graveyard is a Catholic graveyard it is obviously a church in the picture because there are crosses everywhere it's not accurate to use that when telling the story.

    Not with other inmates often the illnesses were actually from the soldiers themselves because they was in Auschwitz an area where they kept some of the prettier inmates for purposes of being comfort women to quote the Japanese.

    Auschwitz. Pronounced "Oushvitz.". Not "Ouchwitch." It is amazing that they survived. After watching this, and others about the Holocaust and WWII, I still find it incomprehensible that people could be so horrible.

    My oldest typical child was rear facing until age 7 in the Graco Extend2fit. He was average for a typical child. I'm expecting and found out she has dwarfism. Should I keep her rear facing even if she's 7-8-9-10?

    • @cynthiaveronica5258
      @cynthiaveronica5258 9 місяців тому

      Congratulations on your pregnancy! It’s best to keep her rear-facing as long as you can. I recognize that this is so hard to do. It’s actually amazing to me that you were able to keep your other child who is average height rear-facing for as long as you did. My son with dwarfism is 8 and is forward-facing. We switched him earlier than we would have liked, but we also did a lot of research on the safest car seat options.

    You shouldn’t feel upset at yourself you have a right to feel the way you did. The man did not have your permission to take a picture of your child. You should have approached him and asked him why he took the picture. That would have taught him a lesson that’s it’s not ok to take pictures of minor children without the parents consent.

There are a few other drugs undergoing clinical trials (including an oral drug that is taken daily and in pill form) and will likely not be available until 2 or 3 years from now. Hi there - first of all congratulations on your sweet boy! In general, children with achondroplasia are prone to fluid buildup in their ears due to their compressed anatomy, and this can have a negative impact on hearing. Has your son been seen by an audiologist and/or an ear nose and throat (ENT) doctor? If not, I would make an appointment soon. He may be hearing like he’s ‘underwater’ which may be causing speech delay. My son sees both an audiologist and ENT on an annual basis. He has had two sets of ear tubes, and both times the ENT doctor said there was a lot of fluid to clear out. They monitor him annually to determine whether or not he needs another set of tubes. It’s also important to make sure you have an anesthesiologist who is experienced with achondroplasia because intubation is slightly different for achon anatomy.

    Thx for ur video . My son has same issue he was 3 years he was operated for adenoid removal and in just 15 months recurring and it’s not grew back as before. Can you guide me what should I do at this stage ? I hope your son will b ok

    • @cynthiaveronica5258
      @cynthiaveronica5258 Рік тому

      I’m so sorry to hear your son’s surgery was not successful and that adenoids have grown back to where they were before. I’m not a doctor, and I do not know your son’s medical history, but what I would do if I were in your position is I would have him followed by an ENT that you trust and that has a lot of experience with your son’s condition, also I would make sure to see a pulmonologist on a regular (e.g., annual) basis to monitor for obstructive sleep apnea. If the apnea is mild or moderate I would look at non-surgical ways to remedy the apnea (e.g., CPAP), but if apnea is severe, I would be very concerned and likely consider another surgery if that is what the doctor recommends. According to the my son’s previous ENT, the younger the child the higher the likelihood that the adenoids will grow back. So the older they get the less risky the surgery in terms of adenoids coming back in. I hope this is helpful. Hugs 🤗
