I often buy My kids Kits/shirts from Dhgate. Much better value for money for them to crash about in and I don't have to worry so much about spending fortune's on kits that they inevitably ruin. The only thing I would say is that they often have huge necks for some reason 🤣

An “issue” with national team jerseys is that if they are super simple (design-wise), they often feel… “empty”, pretty much like training shirts. What Switzerland do, what Hungary have been doing for a few years now, what a very small number of other FAs do, is something that to my eyes makes their jerseys stand out, having not just the FA badge, but also either the country flag or coat of arms (Hungary’s case). I wish more FAs did that, even though I can totally imagine people much better preferring “as plain as possible” jerseys. Manufacturers can never satisfy everyone… :-) As for the authenticity, I know you don’t care, but… just saying, I’ve been collecting jerseys for 30 years now, and only ONCE I’ve held a fake Switzerland shirt (one from the mid 00s). If you run a fake products business, you want to broaden the limits of your target group as much as possible. You produce Real Madrid shirts, not… Osasuna. You produce Brazil shirts, not… Moldova (with all due respect to Osasuna and Moldova). Demand-wise, Switzerland is closer to… your Moldovas, rather than to your Brazils, so it’s just not worth producing fake Switzerland shirts, when you can produce something else that will be much more in demand. Anyway… Details. Cheers!

Talking about your (US) new jerseys, I wouldn’t be surprised if in a few months from now you “unbagged” one of those, saying something in the lines of “I just had to buy it”… Yesterday I spent much more than what I had ever spent on a jersey before, to buy a shirt that 10 months ago, when I first saw it, I was left totally unimpressed. That was my club’s (PAOK) new “home” shirt. Then, the season started, win, win, dramatic win, qualification for the next round of a UEFA competition, defeat with heavy drama, win, win, until we reached the last day of the season, (the day before yesterday, Sunday), and we won the championship. “I just had to buy it”. I’m not “discovering America” here, we all buy shirts either because we like the way they look, or because they are supercharged with fond memories. So, imagine winning the upcoming Copa America(!). I BET that in that case you’d be willing to spend some money to have at least one of the two new shirts, especially if you found it at a reasonable price. As for me, yesterday was the first time in my life I paid the “full price” to buy a shirt. “I just had to”. :-) Cheers

I remember you saying in a previous video that you cut the tags because you actually wear the jerseys, right? Out of curiosity, how do you decide which jersey to wear when/where? Is it just… random, of you find certain jerseys more fitting on certain occasions/places? Anyway, I’ll have 150 pounds in website credit (CFS) coming Tuesday-Wednesday, so I’ll “buy” some shirts from them. Eham, the only minor problem is, the items I have in my “wish list” are worth between 550 and 600 pounds, hahaha… Cheers

Postage USA to UK is just as bad unfortunately. If you're looking for perennial underachievers look no further than my local team, Maidenhead United. We're in the National League, the highest league we've been in since forming in 1870. We're one of only two clubs who have played in the FA Cup since it started except for one year when we didn't pay the entrance fee. (We actual won one of the first ever games in the competition.) If you want one of our shirts, the away shirt from the season just finished is available on Classic Football Shirts. It's got a charity logo on the front and a collection of sponsors on the back.

Talking about the colors, two of my top favorites jerseys (I mean, in my collection), are a couple of Columbus Crew gems, especially as I got them in “Authentic” version (player issue), with the MLS badges on. I mean… WOOF! Regarding shipping, since you mentioned CFS, I may have some sort of answer to your question. First time I sold them shirts, in March 2019, when I got in touch with DHL in my city (Thessaloniki, Greece) to ask how much it would cost me, I had a minor stroke upon listening to the stratospheric price (more than a hundred 100, for about five kilos). Thankfully, THANKFULLY, Doug, one of the two co-founders, volunteered to cover the shipping cost, and this has been the case ever since, 32 packages down the road. Anyway, when the DHL driver came to my place to pick up the package, out of curiosity I asked him if he could tell, based on the papers attached, how much shipping was costing to the recipient. He took a look, and he said, “probably less than a cup of coffee”(!!!), meaning about 3-4 euros!!! Same package, same company, DHL! The driver explained to me that CFS seemed to have a special “big client” code, obviously because they use DHL’s services so-so-so often. I bet not even top clubs in England send out as many packages as CFS do, daily, so maybe this is why CFS can keep the shipping cost lower. As a reference, Leeds United sent me four shirts a couple of weeks ago, and the shipping cost was 12 euros (overland), or 18 (via air, which I chose, mostly to have peace of mind regarding f***ing Customs). If I bought something from CFS, I would have paid half that.

Looks great man. I've finally decided to buy a knockoff from dhgate and noticed that you also wear a medium. I'm 6'0'' 180 lbs and just about every shirt I own is a medium because I like a nice slim fit. I know a lot of people say to size up for the dhgate "fan version" shirts and even size up twice for the "player version" so I was wondering do you find the medium sizes of the shirts you've ordered to be similar to the mediums that you would buy anywhere else in the US?

:-) That’d be interesting, hearing your fiance talk about your jerseys, but also sharing her thoughts on you collecting jerseys. :-) My own experience has been great, ex girlfriends have found my collection anything from “interesting” (I’ll take that :-)) to “fascinating”, but I’ve heard of other collectors be called “immature big kids” by women for collecting jerseys. :-):-):-) I like this Man U shirt, I think what gives it bonus points is the tone of red they have chosen, this… not really red, more like… I don’t even know the word in my own language. It makes it look… “warm” and “regal” at the same time, I reckon. And yeah, I’d love it more if the sleeves ended in the same color.

I appreciate you sharing your experiences both with fakes and authentics. I’m in a similar boat where I only own authentics currently but I’m thinking of testing the knockoff market for clubs/kits that I can’t justify spending $100 on. If there is one thing I love almost as much as football, that’s cartography, so the jerseys with maps have a special-er than special spot in my heart… As for that “9/10”, as someone who has sold almost 1000 jerseys to CFS, and has spent an impossible to calculate time on their website, my guess is the size details on the neck have slightly faded? Or maybe the inside tags (usually down on the left, as you wear the jersey) show signs that the jersey has been washed repeatedly. Or maybe one of the sponsors has a smaaaall crack, or a tip or two (of the sponsors, or the chevrons) have sliiightly peeled off, you know, imperfections that you really need to scrutinize a jersey in order to spot them. I’ve bought a “mint” from them, using website credit, a 25-year-old Benfica jersey, and it was mint indeed, it felt like it came out of an Adidas factory last week. Then again, I’ve bought a couple of “Excellent”, again, using website credit, and I wasn’t convinced, personally I would have given them maximum a “Very Good”. Bottom line, it depends, I guess, on who decides on the mark a jersey is given just before they post it online. It’s only human. Sometimes they are spot on, sometimes they underrate, sometimes they overrate. At the end of the day, it’s subjective. Three people can look at the same shirt and come up with three different “verdicts” regarding its condition.
