Thanks for watching the video. The Dyna satin ribbon used in the video is 5/8“ wide, but can also be made 7/8” wide. Both should be cut to 2”. The satin ribbon for the neck tie is 5/8” wide.

Can be made in any size. The thickness of the finished lei will vary.

After making the flower shape, I think the trick is to hold it with your hand and push it so that it does not lose its shape when you push it to the first thread. This will keep it in place and prevent it from falling apart or losing its shape.

Look at the scene at 4 minutes 15 seconds. Keep the shape tight and push down.

You will need 28 to 30 kukui nuts and at least 336 petals.

One set consists of 12 petal ribbons, which can be changed to three or four different colors. I mean One set is 6 piecese and 2 colors. However, 4 pieces each will be 3 colors.

I use 100-yard rolls of ribbon, but I think 25-yard rolls of each color would work, too.

Can I use 5/8 instead 7/8 ribbon?

Prepare the cork by cutting a slit in it before making the lei. The cork slit should be shallow enough to hold the needle. When cutting, do so slowly and with force.
