STACK ST200 Clubman Tachometer install into my 1982 Alfa Romeo GTV6
Переглядів 1302 місяці тому
My GTV6 tachometer had the warped needle of doom that is often an issue with these old gauges. The needle melts into a crescent shape and drags on the gauge face. I tried to fix mine and failed miserably so I decided an upgrade was needed. This is my install of the STACK ST200. It’s quartz, very high quality and bomb proof. I highly recommend it! (I am not affiliated with stack and paid for thi...

Forgive the poor video edits. Didn’t take much for video during this event and this is what I ended up with.
1954 Oldsmobile “Rocket” 88 holiday coupe ex Mille Miglia race car.

Luca and I go over this Oldsmobile rally car that has raced 3 times in the Mille Miglia and once in the Colorado Grand. My street is closed currently so we took it for a short slow drive down to the school turn around. I will be prepping this for the Florida Mille Miglia experience this upcoming February for my friend (and owner if the car). Enjoy!
Fall drive with my 1982 Alfa Romeo GTV6 2.5

The car had an intermittent miss during this drive. Found out a loose wire to one of the injectors was causing the issues. Still fun though and was easy to fix after the fact.
Starter troubles. Replacing the starter in my 1982 Alfa Romeo GTV6

At the end of the track day at Road America, my starter decided to give up the ghost. We had to push it onto the trailer. After I got it back in the shop this was what I found…

Last session of the day and also the most dry. Was having some serious brake pulsation and still unable to use 2nd gear at this time without grinding. Still, I did my best and had fun!

Session two around lunch time. Getting used to the car in the dry. The standard tires and brakes definitely showed their lack of performance quickly into the session. Things to work on for the next time

That really is a tremendous sounding GTV6 🍀 🫡
have you installed any LEDs for the gauges?
Nope though I probably should!
I have a 1988 Alfa Romeo Milano Gold Automatic. Straight exhaust. The Busso 2.5V6 sounds wonderful!
Fantomworks car , glad to see that it is still on the road. ❗️🇺🇸
Yep we will be keeping it that way too!
Thanks for the ride along! Enjoyed the video!
Had a ‘55 Olds 98 Holiday 40 years ago. Great fun driving that boat around town. Miss that car.
Wasn't that car featured on FantomWorksTv some time ago getting prepared for that overseas race by a couple good friends?
100% and it’s gonna go back to Italy with a couple of new friends behind the wheel!
Great job love the music!
You should use a 164 starter because it’s lighter and more compact. All it needs are a an adapter which I have a template for.
Hopefully I wont need to worry about it anymore but if I do I will look into that. Thanks for the tip!
In your video thumbnail you have a photo of a non-stock starter. Did you use that?
It ended up not working with my exhaust unfortunately. I ended up taking my original starter out and getting it refreshed.
Is this from extreme tuning in Bulgaria?
Yes it is!
I reckon a carbon-epoxy driveshaft would reduce the rotational inertia that makes gear-changing difficult and wears out the synchros too. I saw where someone changed it out, removed the mid mount and reconfigured the gear change linkage. Nice sound though.
Yeah I have been looking for this solution. Seems the best route is to go to straight cut gears when I eventually rebuild the trans.
@@mydogsareannoying possibly, but when meshing between engine shaft and gearbox primary, in a car with no driveshaft between engine and gearbox, when the load comes off there is very little rotational energy involved that must decay. The theory of reducing rotational inertia (based on mass and radius), should be to reduce the diameter and the mass so that the major contributor to rotational inertia is drastically reduced. This is IMO, your first port of call
@@grantsutherland6798yeah, two flywheels a clutch assembly and a heavy driveshaft are not ideal
IT was designed that way so flat changing doesn't destroy your box. But driving normally does. It's very Italian!
Such a good sounding car!
Simply beautiful 🏁
Fabuleuse vidéo qui rend hommage à cette sonorité merveilleuse que nous avions régulièrement la chance de croiser dans les années 80-90. Merci pour ce travail de rendu, c'était ça l'ambiance du GTV6.
back in the days, like maybe 1998 i had one aswell but i crashed it in a slippery corners (leaves in the rain on the street) i still kinda miss it.. my dream would be a GTV6 with an GTA 3.2 Engine 😊
Un seul commentaire pour cette oeuvre d'art ..😞
Sadly according to Schlaboubve laws in EU all Gas cars will be illegal from 2027 on!
best sounding engine ever
Lamborghini Urraco V8 sounds better and is 100 HP stronger
Fantastic! Is the microphone in the car? What exhaust setup do you have? thanks
Yeah standard iphone 14 microphone. The exhaust I had made from extreme tuning bg.
@@mydogsareannoying sounds so good! Does it have cats and center resonators?
@@pureroadster59just a muffler. Its an equal length header on each bank going 2 into 1 on the muffler. Side exit out the passenger side. I have a video on it I posted awhile back. Go check it out!
@@mydogsareannoying thanks mate I will!
bro made all that noise to not even catch up to the mom driving her son to soccer practice
don’t know why you would want to tailgate while doing a 40 roll
The car sounds incredible no matter how fast it is.
Car is real slow. Just in it for the noises! :)
Very nice. The original exhaust sound always reminds me of a trumpet orchestra howl 👍. One tip: for your own safety aginst a whiplzash, turn up your head rest. I have such a car for 30 years already and most spare parts triple. I took it apart for a restauration. The second model (1984-1987) has better seats that support better under the knees. Always keep such cars original. Regards from a 🇳🇱 living in 🇧🇪
Heavenly 🎶
My Shankle headers flange was split for that reason but the tubing went straight down. Original location is a bit of a pain anyway
Beautiful sound, one of the best GTV6’s I’ve heard and I’ve been around a lot of them including my present 81. Good job!
Standard or Beck? Replacing mine this weekend, original cleaning didn’t hold up.
I would go with the best you can get due to the labor involved. They’re not too expensive either way and the labor really isn’t that bad so whatever works!
The sound of the GTV6 is just insane, pure melody.
They are too slow put a Turbo kit on it
@@Haffschlappe nhaaaaaa
hi, Im thinking about buying a gtv6, and I see that you are actually scratching the ceiling with your head in it:) how high are you? Is it ok when you have a helmet on?
I am 6’ but I have a long torso. This is my issue in most cars I have driven.
im 6'2" and helmet is just ok. Quick seat change for the track is easy if you need to go lower.
Awesome. Wish I was there as your Assistant. Love the car
U are so smart great job
Kannst du mir mal deinen Händler nennen von dem du deine Ersatzteile beziehst?
The hose kits were from hpsimotorsports.com. I get hard to find used stuff from Alfa parts exchange in Sacramento. And centerline, rockauto, or any other internet based source I can find. Everyone I’ve talked to along the way has been extremely kind and helpful. You couldn’t ask for a better community than the Alfa one.
Hi, I have an 1988 Alfa Romeo Milano Automatic! And the fuel pump is dead! The car starts with spraying fuel into the injection system. Do you think that the pump is in the same place since the GTV6 is similar? I'm not spending thousands on it, since my car is in rough paint condition.
