1954 Oldsmobile “Rocket” 88 holiday coupe Mille Miglia race car.

Luca and I go over this Oldsmobile rally car that has raced 3 times in the Mille Miglia and once in the Colorado Grand. My street is closed currently so we took it for a short slow drive down to the school turn around. I will be prepping this for the Florida Mille Miglia experience this upcoming February for my friend (and owner if the car). Enjoy!

The car had an intermittent miss during this drive. Found out a loose wire to one of the injectors was causing the issues. Still fun though and was easy to fix after the fact.
Starter troubles.

At the end of the track day at Road America, my starter decided to give up the ghost. We had to push it onto the trailer. After I got it back in the shop this was what I found…

Road America, Session 3 with the GTV6

Last session of the day and also the most dry. Was having some serious brake pulsation and still unable to use 2nd gear at this time without grinding. Still, I did my best and had fun!

Session two around lunch time. Getting used to the car in the dry. The standard tires and brakes definitely showed their lack of performance quickly into the session. Things to work on for the next time

Road America! First session of the day was a wet one. I treated this more as a test and tune day to stretch the Alfa’s legs.

I try to start the GTV6! Finishing up the coolant lines and check for leaks.

In this video, I wrap up the coolant heater lines and fill the system. I also fill the fuel tank and check both systems for leaks. At the end I try to start the car and (spoilers) you guessed it! it doesn’t go well!

back in the days, like maybe 1998 i had one aswell but i crashed it in a slippery corners (leaves in the rain on the street) i still kinda miss it.. my dream would be a GTV6 with an GTA 3.2 Engine 😊

Yeah standard iphone 14 microphone. The exhaust I had made from extreme tuning bg.

@@pureroadster59just a muffler. Its an equal length header on each bank going 2 into 1 on the muffler. Side exit out the passenger side. I have a video on it I posted awhile back. Go check it out!

Car is real slow. Just in it for the noises! :)
Very nice. The original exhaust sound always reminds me of a trumpet orchestra howl 👍. One tip: for your own safety aginst a whiplzash, turn up your head rest. I have such a car for 30 years already and most spare parts triple. I took it apart for a restauration. The second model (1984-1987) has better seats that support better under the knees. Always keep such cars original. Regards from a 🇳🇱 living in 🇧🇪

My Shankle headers flange was split for that reason but the tubing went straight down. Original location is a bit of a pain anyway
Beautiful sound, one of the best GTV6’s I’ve heard and I’ve been around a lot of them including my present 81. Good job!
Standard or Beck? Replacing mine this weekend, original cleaning didn’t hold up.
I would go with the best you can get due to the labor involved. They’re not too expensive either way and the labor really isn’t that bad so whatever works!
The sound of the GTV6 is just insane, pure melody.

hi, Im thinking about buying a gtv6, and I see that you are actually scratching the ceiling with your head in it:) how high are you? Is it ok when you have a helmet on?
I am 6’ but I have a long torso. This is my issue in most cars I have driven.
im 6'2" and helmet is just ok. Quick seat change for the track is easy if you need to go lower.

The hose kits were from hpsimotorsports.com. I get hard to find used stuff from Alfa parts exchange in Sacramento. And centerline, rockauto, or any other internet based source I can find. Everyone I’ve talked to along the way has been extremely kind and helpful. You couldn’t ask for a better community than the Alfa one.
Hi, I have an 1988 Alfa Romeo Milano Automatic! And the fuel pump is dead! The car starts with spraying fuel into the injection system. Do you think that the pump is in the same place since the GTV6 is similar? I'm not spending thousands on it, since my car is in rough paint condition.
