Thanks for the comparrison! One has to remember that Apple is bennefitting by the longer load time, because it makes people think it's about time to upgrade the hardware. It's difficult to stay in older operating systems because they get more and more incompatible. Apple is handcuffing third party developers, so they don't put up fully functional versions of their products for older OS. I remember Behringer wrote it specificly on their site, something like "We are sorry, but our hands are tied by Apple" on why they didn't put up earlier known versions of their software. The fastest and best functional Mac OS I have ever had, was Snow Leopard. But unfortunately it is virtually impossible to use nowadays, and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be abple to run it on new harware. But just imagine the speed. I think a lot of users would prefer speed and reliability over new smart features.

I can not get it to do atmos and I bought pro? Is it not compatible with atmos?

Its an biased comperision brothers, I am using da vinci from a long time i can clearly say that you can do professional compositing, vfx, sound design, editng, media organisation, color grading, in a single software for free. nobody who supports adobe want to let you know reality. I am not saying that adobe is bad but i want to let you know da vinci is amazing and good software to learn as well

Installed KMPlayer because I hated the "Ugly Cone" file association with VLC. The KMplayer association is a crappy loud purple but is less repulsive than the orange traffic cone. KMPlayer, however, changed the filetype description in file explorer from the simple "MP4" to display an excessively long "KMP - "MP4 Audio/Video File". I can't find any way to change this without disassociating the filetype, or going into the registry to change it. I don't want to do that, and I understand that any registry change would be changed back with updates to the app. This sucks - why do app developers think they have to completely take over my PC without user options?

Powerdirector 365 has gone downhill since Sept 2023 when Cyberlink decided to push a ton of awful and buggy updates. It's as if the software was never tested. Additional button clicks everywhere, removal of existing functionality; an overall mess if you ask me. I've spent quite a bit of time learning PD365 and it's unfortunate because I've been trying out different software to replace PD365. Cyberlink has been sending out updates once to twice a month to fix/change the software, but they end up removing/breaking even more items. Unfortunately, I have to give this software a 2 star now. I no longer recommend this software.

They both are using the sane NG Studio engine. Corel never made either of these programs. VideoStudio was made by Unleaded and sold to Corel Pinnacle was is own company but Avid owned it when Corel bought it around ver 16. However, I have chatted with lots of folks that claim one is better. But now Pinnacle just has more stuff with it and they both use the same NG Studio engine. If they lock up chances are your computer can not handle the load you are putting on it.

I agree with many others here… It crashes quite often. It also has memory losses, especially after software updates, when opening older projects: It cannot find files anymore although the are still at the same location on HDD. I have the very old and never updated Windows Movie Maker which is thousand times more stable than Cyberlink’s PowerDirector, on Windows 11. Cyberlink’s software cannot even restore projects after it crashed, you need to press the Save button by yourself all the time. I could not find an „autosave“ feature.

I like Spotify but when I use it for music when I’m walking with my phone in my pocket, after only a few songs it just STOPS. That’s why when I want music to keep playing for 1 - 2 hours without stopping, I use AMAZON MUSIC 🎶! I don’t know why Spotify just stops….

I have been Catalina upto mid 2024, no problem. I dont use an iphone so Im not missing on the integration between Mac and iphone that is cool. Passing a call from the phone to the computer is cool but I use my computer for editing photos and browsing the Internet. So even if I upgraded to Sonoma, still would miss some of the experience for not using iPhone, I think.

The desktop version allows you to go into the actual worksheets and change numbers and it will recalculate. The online version does not allow you to do that. If you use the desktop version for years and then decide to use the online version one year down the road, the online version will not have any of your previous years history or carryover amounts. So it is best to stick with one or the other and not jump back and forth. Remember, the desktop version stores all your information locally on your computer drive. Make backup copies of the data, in case your drive decides to stop working one day. Having to go back and try to re-create data from years gone by would be a nightmare.

The comment about the Desktop version being compatible with Windows computers only is simply wrong. I have been using a Mac computer for years to do my taxes with the Desktop version.

I was constantly asked to provide documents which I originally presented online by their team of brain-dead amateurs posing as tax preparers. Their evaluation of HSA accounts was so wrong that I wound up calling the IRS to confirm that I wasn't nuts. They kept trying to tax me on my total contributions instead of my annual. At 63 I dipped into my 401K account. Fidelity automatically withdraws taxes from the payout yet somehow my preparer failed to credit it to my taxes. The idiots didn't even take my age into account. I saved approximately 11 grand by getting a second opinion. These people are dangerously incompetent.

There is simply no comparison. Desktop as you only have to pay once for the software and can do unlimited tax submissions with the one software paying once for the software. You can also install it on up to 5 computers/laptops. With the online version everybody that uses the software each have to pay the full price every time which makes no sense as the CD download install doesn't charge more than once. Online is a total ripoff. People will say yeah but I only will be using the software so it doesn't matter. Well if you and a family member or friend share you can split the cost of the CD with 1 or more people and save even more money for each people. Also you can access your tax returns anytime you want without no sign ins or access to the internet. With the online version you need to sign in and you can be locked out of your own account as your no longer have access to your old phone number or email to reset your password or your account was hacked. Also software install you can click on certain tabs that can take you directly to certain sections of your tax returns and see the actual forms being used and filled out and breakdown cheat sheet that you wouldn't be able to with the online version.

Power director 2024 is the worst version to date of Cyberlink, It is terribly slow, poorly optimized, impractical, I had a 4.5 Mhz machine with 24GB SSD and I couldn't work comfortably, previous version works 10 times better, GUI is a step backwards, which is impractical, and slows down the work even more, I think they should eliminate this version

😞 😓 PowerDirector isn't nearly as good as you say. I just started using the paid version of PowerDirector this January 2nd. Yesterday and today, I took a lot of time to do video quality tests. But the software always gets stuck. Sometimes the video playback is suspended in the middle. Sometimes it's because I pressed the ➡ Right key on the keyboard, in order to see the video advance one frame. Several times I was forced to choose - Force Quit PowerDirector. Out of the many tests I've done, I've only released one video that works. This software is very slow to process, and it is also very unstable. Before the paid version, I had the free version to test, and I had fewer errors. I've been wasting my time for two months learning how it works, through videos on UA-cam and by my attempts. I wasted a lot of time. PowerDirector is not made for serious people. If there is anything I can do for my version, please let me know. I have a Mac Mini with the M1 chip. I've been using iMovie since 2010 and like all Apple programs, it works great and never crashes.

Absolutely biased conclusions, hardly after "hundreds of hours of testing". Most viewers here are definitely not professional users. In my opinion Filmora is the better choice for anyone who wants to produce videos fast and with ease. It's far less cumbersome to use and because of the large numbers of built-in pre-made templates for Titles, Transitions, Effects and Coloring, Filmora gets things done faster. BTW in Filmora you can choose if you want to use a magnetic timeline or not. On the other other hand, if you truly are a professional user, doing video editing for a living, and are in need of maximal flexibility when it comes to tweaking your edits, then Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere or Davinci Resolve are the ones to choose among.
