Through the HO scale depiction of the Frisco Railroad between Monett, Missouri and Fort Smith, Arkansas, we witness the HO version of the Empress. Though newly acquired and the proper Canadian Pacific consist is not complete yet, we wanted to bring you a video of this detailed model on this fascinating layout. Big Boy - 4014 Through the Heartland

In October 2024, we chased Union Pacific 4014 over the span of two days. The first day began in Oklahoma and ended in Kansas. The second began in Missouri and again finished in Kansas. We get to see the 4014 on the point of both passenger and freight consists in this video. The music is from the NBC TV production, Big Boy. Enjoy as 4014 brings steam mainline steam to the heartland once more.

In October 2024, we witnessed the first steam only meet at the Kellerado & Rio Grande Western. 3 visiting steam locomotives joined the 476 and 4105 already at the railroad. In September 2024, we test ran the 476 after it got a new paint job and other work. This test was also to ensure the engine was good for the meet coming up in October.

On a damp September afternoon, we got to ride the cab of the former International Railways of Central America #40. The 40 is seen climbing the grades that exceed 4 percent from Georgetown to Silver Plume, Colorado. Enjoy the ride as Sam and Eric take us in the cab of the 40.

@@earllutz2663 the fire hole is open for better oxygen flow to the fire. Pretty common on oil burners depending on the locomotive, fireman preference, and damper.
Is this locomotive still in operation? I am a railway fan from China, and these locomotives have all been retired in China.
yes, iowa used to at one time have 3 operational chinese steam locomotives, 2 QJ's owned by the IAIS, and 1 JS bought by the boone and scenic. 8419 is still operating as of now but the QJ's are both down for boiler inspection and 1472

I see they went the route of the Iowa Interstate and removed virtually all Chinese markings from the engine. I think I can understand why.

It’s a screw reverse instead of a power reverse like most have. 1225 at the Steam Railroading Institute has the same thing
