I also talk about the model's flight performance. Check out my written article on this topic at Tested.com: www.tested.com/art/makers/823298-flying-rc-airplane-snow-skis/
Tamiya Dancing Rider - Tested.com Review
Переглядів 2,2 тис.6 років тому
It's my first RC rig from Tamiya...ever! I'm not sure how I went this long in the hobby without ever building a Tamiya kit, but I fixed that problem here. The Dancing Rider is a VERY unique vehicle in terms of looks and performance. Watch the video and read my written article to discover what I found as I built and drove this nimble little 3-wheeled machine. Check out my written rview at Tested...

Great Video.. Thanks for sharing. I have those snow skis I purchased a decade ago and used on my tri gear trainer.. I recently purchased a Carbon Cub and was wondering if I could use them on it.. I was wondering about the tail skid.. You showed me the answer for that.. thx for the tips.. Also, what camera were you using mounted on the wing? Please let me know, Thx FRCP
Other than offering different colors, the nylon Du-Bro skis have not changed. So they should work fine on your Carbon Cub. The camera is a RunCam2. There are newer versions available now. I put one on each wing to balance the weight.
@@WeirdflightThanks.. I thought that might be the camera. I looked further down your list of videos hoping to find one on your video setup and did. thx and happy flying.
Bad ass filming.
I like optima line in kyosho and also the laser line
Terry, The question I have for you is ,on the forward gun turret is to make it turn with the steering do you tap into the wire of that servo to make the gun turn with the steering?? Thanks, Keith From U.S.A.
what motor you have in it? I building one now and soon be ready to cover. Im using a 2208 on 3s. Whats the weight of yours?
Make a video on the 2 terrain twister
how tall is the action figures
Very cool.
Mine won't run 11.1 v?!
weird
To my eyes the GoPro had a wider field of vision, but the Mobius footage looked better. Which are you still using ? The new Mobius Msxi 4K looks interesting.
I don't use either camera anymore. I now do most in-flight video with a RunCam 2 or Insta360 Go2
@@Weirdflight Thanks for the reply. I will research the RunCam 2
I rode a real one in 69-70
Any updates?
No. I haven't messed with it in a while.
Hello @Terry Dunn can you share a link for the rechargable 6V batteries? Thanks!
thanks for the nice reviews; 10 more to go 1k, let's go!!!
did you ever figure out where the water was comming from
No, I've never really put much effort into tracking it down.
@@Weirdflight I wonder if a water pump would work
Can you please give me a list of other parts you used the transmitter receiver thank you appreciate it
Whats the topspeed of that?
...nice work...! 👍 ...next you should buid a sampan in the same scale...!
Where can I get the replacement batteries and the Indicator
You're right, 4-cell NiMh packs have become strangely difficult to find. I didn't see anything at my usual hobby outlets. Amazon has a few that should work. I *think* this one would fit: www.amazon.com/Tenergy-Connectors-Rechargeable-Receivers-Airplanes/dp/B003BW0Q6C/ref=sr_1_7?crid=WJ3WEBR72ZBY&keywords=rc+receiver+battery+4.8v&qid=1644454342&sprefix=rc+receiver+battery%2Caps%2C64&sr=8-7 Same story for the VoltWatch2. Maybe you can find one on eBay or something similar.
Nice motorcycle! Please top speed?
anyone know what size motors are in these for the main screw drives? I've got some twin motor ESC with mix functions but want to know if they'll work for this. Mainly need to know current draw, Thanks
Great video! Thanks!
Great Job Terry! But I cant find the documents in "tested", it said:

@@Weirdflight OK, thank you. Please, I cant see the steering system; is the nozzle canging the jet direcction?

Yes. With GOOP adhesive.

My friend has one built at 18th scale, he is annoyed when I told him he could just buy one😂😂 but jokes aside he built it from scratch. He is currently building an 8th scale ua-cam.com/video/eDHYeqxL_KU/v-deo.html
I was watching it on my phone. Couldn't keep the horizon level.
That’s cool. Brought back a few memories. I was actually attached to VT-25, Chase Field Texas, 1968/69. We were flying the TF-9J’s (like yours) and the TAF-9J two seaters. We were 5J rather than 7L. Your model looks really accurate. One thing tho’. You didn’t happen to have the spring loaded “blow in doors”, upper empennage behind the cockpit? Those old centrifugal flow J-48 engines needed more air than the intakes could provide so as they accelerated, these doors would open. Anyway, great job!
Bel avion, superbement réalisé. Question: quelle est cette cocarde? (quel pays?) Autre question: y avait-il besoin de mettre autant de dièdre dans les ailes? Merci d'avance pour les réponses.
The markings are American. I assume the dihedral is necessary because the model has only rudder and elevator controls (no ailerons).
Great info! Thanks for the tips!
What’s the top speed?
I don't know. Somewhere between "cool" and "wow."
Fantastic video!
How are the instructions? Another builder said the frame was very brittle at the key points so I canceled my order it's too complicated for me if the instructions are not clear I never built a model.
This design has been around for a long time. I think the manual, as with most Kyosho products, is good. I did not have any trouble getting it assembled.
@@Weirdflight yeah but you're on methamphetamine lol Noah seriously was that your first build.?
Holy cow!
There are sailor figures out there if you look hard enough. Just saying. Nice model 👌
Will your boat go in REVERSE? How did you hold down the center deck to the hull?
No reverse. I'm not sure what you mean by the center deck...but it's all stock methods of retention. The cabin is a friction fit and has pins to align it. The area behind that (with the M-60 mount) is the battery hatch and is held in place with magnets. The rear deck (with single M-2) is screwed in place.
@@Weirdflight The rear deck has no magnet attachment and no magnets included!?? Yeah, reverse throttle and the motors turn but the boat receives no reverse thrust. Strange. Do you have any pix of the magnet hold down? Thanks
wow very scale boat! Thanks for the info
Now this is a cool boat!Excellent work too! Thanks👍

Well done Terry! That is brilliant!
Hey Teddy. I just bought a neo 3.0 and i just love de change of the alkaline batteries to the NiMh blister. What was the final voltage of the blister comparing to the original 6v alkaline? Say hi to 🇧🇷!!
The stock alkaline battery is 6 volts (4x1.5v). The NiMh battery is a 4-cell pack, so the nominal voltage is 4.8. But it's closer to 6 volts when fully charged.
I have 4 of these that I picked up from the local Value Village for $5 or $6 each because they didn't have controllers. I pick up a lot of RCs there cheap because of that issue. I have a giant Jeep I picked up for $10. I was looking at the control board to see if I could wire in a cheap receiver to keep the functionality, but came to the same conclusion that the best way is to just throw the boards into the spare electronics parts pile to strip and go with a pair of ESCs and transmitter/receiver. I am going a lot cheaper, using entry level Chinese parts from Amazon, but since this is a learning project and funds are tight, they will serve the purpose. I was fortunate to have the original batteries, so I am going to rebuild them with upgraded batteries and wire in a charge port so I don't have to remove the battery, useless I want to swap it for a charged battery and keep playing. :-) Of course with a bunch of them, I can just swap vehicles. lol Seeing how well this one worked, I am glad I made the decision to swap everything. Like you, I figure screw motors will be next.
It needs a scaled 8'6 Yater Spoon surfboard as stolen from Colonel Kilgore. Great model.
Was the surf board stealing part only in the redux version I can't remember
@@KennethWhiteakaruckusbringa Yes, it was just in the Redux version. The model is completely accurate to the cinematic release. A really great model.
@@alanbinks6106 a sound card with the colonel asking for his board back wound be a nice touch lol
Great review and video footage. Have you had the Spur gear strip yet? As it is plastic and not metal.
Are the sprockets and roller chain plastic or metal?
Good question. The sprocket is plastic. The chain is metal.
@@Weirdflight can the sprocket that is turning the chain be directly connected to the motor or the middle gear is necessary?
@@waynepryce34 Sorry, but I don't know.
