In the US there are cultural differences among the races, while in Latin American there is no differences. In the DR black/white/brown/Asian they speak the same way, eat the same food, enjoy the same customs. Not true in the US and you know what I am talking about.

Great advice. Especially about attending college camps. I can speak from experience as a former high school player. I was a wr and my school ran the Wing-T offense so we didn’t throw the football. Therefore, I could not showcase what I could do. And I was not allowed to transfer. So attending various college camps can be very beneficial to furthering your career.

Everything you saying is true and I want to include some black americans in the usa don’t identify as african american but i do know the americas is not just the usa and we shouldn’t be so separated by borders just like indigenous people of the americas who deal with similar situations. Got Cubans living in the apartment above me. They not Black, they Cuban. They just got here too, speak very little English. What's the confusion? We go by nationality not by color. If you put a group of Latinos in one room, different shades of skin and ask what they are, ALL will reply with their nationality not by color. We dont use colorism like its used in the US. Black, White or Mixed, you are from, Cuba, or Dominican Republic, or Puerto Rico, or Costa Rica, or Panama, etc.

It depends on why. If it’s a cultural issue within the company that’s not going to change so if that’s the reason, you will end up leaving within 6 months regardless of how much more they offer you. I would also argue if they valued you to begin with you wouldn’t be looking for a better culture or pay they would be taking care of you because they recognize the value you bring to the company. If it’s because you want growth or a new opportunity, that’s a good reason to stay IF they have something. Don’t accept a future promise, they either have it now or not and that’s okay.

I would take the new job offer because I would already know that my current job wasn't willing to pay me my worth.

Everyone in thIs video looks brown to me. BROWN a 2 year old can see that. We all have carbon/ melanin which is what makes us the way we are inside our bodies.dancing, athleticism, etc and it expresses outwardly through our skin in different shades of brown/copper. and thats the conection among us not the word black. This doesn’t just happen with dominicans bro. Colombians with afro ancestry will identify as latino rather than black. They don’t mean it in a racist way, rather they’re trying to say that their culture is different to americans. Latin culture is spanish language, plantains/rice&beans, family oriented etc. When you call a black latino “black” they assume you mean American black and are therefore grouping them into the wrong basket from a cultural perspective. This was a great explanation. I’m saving it and sharing it. So many people don’t understand this! I grew up during the time of the civil rights movement. Everyone seemed to be aware of who they were at that time, even though some didn’t want to admit it. My Puerto Rican father identified as black even with his light skin and he also wore a dashiki back then to let people know. I did my DNA test and found that I got African genetics from 8 different African countries from my Puerto Rican father! So yeah, we black!
