    Great video, thanks. A relative new DIY person here - can I ask, did you have studding on the rigght hand side, and gap --> solid wall on left? So 2 different length screws? Also why did you only use 1 screw on the right bracket? CHeers

    • @primalrenovations7427
      @primalrenovations7427 7 днів тому

      Thanks for watching I could only put one in as the pipe would have been in the way for the other screw. No didn't have stud work just a rubbish brick so put a longer screw in to get a better fixing.

      @@primalrenovations7427 Ah, I see what you're saying. I've a similar job to do for a family member (So don't want to take it on unless I'm happy I won't screw it up.) The wall is a solid garage wall, I'm guessing dry-lined, and tiled. Looking at the protruding pipes, I can see some evidence of plaster around them, for some reason. So I guess I will need to put a rawlplug on long screws, and try and get to the brick wall, which I hate doing. Might have to politely refuse this one - we are currently on good terms 🙂

    • @primalrenovations7427
      @primalrenovations7427 7 днів тому

      @concunningham9795 It's easier than it looks if you drill a slightly bigger hole through the tile like a 6/8mm then use the 5.5mm drill bit for the brick you can pass the red plug through the wall tiles into the brick and just use a screwdriver to tighten it up.

      @@primalrenovations7427 Cheers for that - I'm looking at other things like CoreFix, and DuoPower - all new to me. The CoreFix seems to be quite proud of the Tile, so I think this might be an issue for the base of the mounting brackets that slip over the pipes. I'll hold fire until I'm up there next weekend - there's only a small part of the wall tiled for the shower. I might poke a few judicious holes in a different part of the wall and try to verify that it's D&D, and figure out how much of a void there is. If you ever find yourself in Ireland, I owe you a pint!

      @@primalrenovations7427 From the video and logically speaking, the only way to rest the T-bar is on the wall. If you've got a room 6*6m or so, this wouldn't really work as it would need a wall to rest on. Unless I'm missing something...

Come to think the two doors i fitted on my previous home had no drip shelf. Just checked some old photos, they haven't. Never noticed before. Not need due to porch.

    Hi, great videos Mike many thanks. We had a problem with a what looked like a very similar wet patch in the same place on our living room wall adjoining our neighbors living room wall. As we had no leaks coming from our side we assumed that the link must be coming from our neighbors side of the property. We could see no signs or reasons for rising damp. When a damp specialist visited the property he explained to to us that the wet patch on the wall was actually caused from salts that were trapped in the wall due old fireplaces having been there many moons ago. Apparently this is a known phenomena. We were chuffed,
