  • @DonHavjuan
    @DonHavjuan 3 роки тому

    First, you want it to start TIGHT, at about head height or even a bit higher - 6 feet up at least. Put both ends at the same height, and make the head end slightly shorter. Second, as a large guy, if you're over 180lbs or 6 feet, get the XL. Definitely. Do NOT get the standard version. Third, The new pads don't have an integrated pump ... because they get holes in them all the time. Instead the stuff sack is a filler bag.

    I like the way those lay our flat. I have metal knees and a hammock always gets uncomfortable. I know you can lay at an angle to help but a flat set up like this seems much better. I think I'll buy one of those and give it a whirl.

    When this was on Kickstarter, the guy who designed it came on Reddit and openly admitted he didn't have experience using camping hammocks...several valid points were brought up and he either ignored or sidestepped every single one. The biggest things to remember are that, With no dedicated rainfly (at least when it launched) you're packing any residual moisture into your sleep system no matter how vigorously you shake it off, and secondly it does not use standard sizing for the pad so if you want to swap out for a different one you have (a) wait for them to make it, and then (b) pay whatever price they ask for it. It's a good idea, but it's far too heavy for hikers and too poorly executed for offseason weather.

    • @michaelbrohl1625
      @michaelbrohl1625 3 роки тому

      It has a separate dedicated rainfall. I guess you stopped watching the video before he got to that.

    • @DogeCointube
      @DogeCointube 3 роки тому

      @@michaelbrohl1625 No no, not at all. But after watching regular-size people sit in it and rip it, I'll stick with something lighter, cheaper, more comfortable, and more reliable. You have to buy into this system; it is not designed to use industry-sized pads, if you want a warmer/cooler one you have to pay the manufacturer whatever they're asking, if they make one at all. It's a nice concept that's been well executed to make a profit without guaranteeing quality or comfort.

    • @michaelbrohl1625
      @michaelbrohl1625 3 роки тому

      @@DogeCointube I'm not interested in one either but it's because of the bulk and weight. If quality goes down then people will shred them on you tube and it will kill sales so I'm not particularly worried about that.

    Your upper body is heavyer then your lower body, thats why your headside hang lower. you can see it on minute 8:11 when you press pause. so a person with your body constitution, should hang the headside more up, to compansate thsi kind of inbalance. otherwise you will endup with to much bloodpressure in your head during the night. ;) And thx for this video, was looking for a valid review about this product!

    Damn they're still as much fun to get in and out of🤭. I have a normal style hammock with my airbed and it goes ok. But im now investigating getting a heavy duty tarp and suspension straps for my Nemo Aurora 2P tent to get it up off the ground, and negate the need for the airbed. If you or any of your viewers want to see some cool Yowie (Bigfoot) tree breaks, please have a squiz at my recent videos👣🙏.
