Neymar in MLS? After what seemed like a lifetime of speculation, is now finally materializing into reality. While we are sure he is coming to America now, the question of which team it will be, is still a mystery. However with each looming minute that passes by, the trail gets more narrow. It has been revealed that Neymar has now been linked to 3 MLS clubs. Chicago has been confirmed…so who are the others?

Why Europeans HATE MLS - No Respect For American Soccer

Why Do Europeans Not Respect MLS? For a league that has existed for over 30 years now and has been vital to the growth of soccer in America, still seems to find itself as the joke in the room to many fans across the pond. Along with many others, Europeans seem to despise Major League Soccer, and seem to view it as less “football” and more “sports entertainment featuring a soccer ball”. You can ...

WHY SAN DIEGO FC WILL BE AN IMMEDIATE SUCCESS IN MLS
The playoff is simply MLS's attempt to kill off the National Cup competition which they dont have control over, they want to have the big final, they want all the money, they want the whole sport. No different from the NFL and MLB in that regard.
Americans on the whole have no respect for the rest of the world, and the MLS has no respect for custome- I mean fans outside of major 'markets'. I'm not a euro elitist, I love South American, North African, Southeast Asian football, anywhere were football is treated as much more than a game. You don't have that in MLS and dont deny it. I'd much rather see teams from Morocco or Indonesia playing in pre season friendlies against teams from Europe than the MLS
The problem is that these smaller sports aren't marketed well. Now days you need a subscription to watch everything. Put the games on over the air. Let the fan base grow. Some people don't even know there's a MLS team. AZ over the airs Phoenix rising and they're really popular out here for being an USL team. It's all about marketing.
Anything else but Inter Miami would be a crime
"while we are sure he is coming to america now." meanwhile, "Neymar and his camp have not given any green light to proceed with formal contract proposal yet. Early stages of the story and nothing imminent as of now." per Fabrizio Romano lmfao
Signing in Chicago is almost as bad as signing in San Jose

I love how the comments section here has no disagreements.Nobody defending their team's fans from being included here.
lots of teams with little local character. too corporate and not much to relate to. lots of teams without a good name to them to tell you the time of day.
Been saying it for a LONG time. Names like the Colorado “Rapids” and New England “Revolution” are what teams should strive for! Not this bogus crap “European” mimic style of “Inter” Miami or “Real” Salt Lake. Don’t get me started on the “Fc” over the “Sc” debate..:
I actually like the name of Inter-Miami
Seattle Sounders fanbase should not be here. It is one of the most disorganized fanbases in MLS with their poor chants and need for a fucking microphone.
The MLS should have done Cleveland as an original City because of the Browns moving to Baltimore
Honestly I feel like they should maybe in the USL but it added more excitement to penalty shootouts
Without the Crew, this list is a complete joke.
Seattle fan here and I agree. You guys literally saved your team from relocation.
Cincinnati at 5 is a joke. FC Cincinnati gets the same level of coverage in the media as the Reds and the Bengals.
It also doesn't help that Soldier Field is surrounded by expressway and the rest of Museum Campus, it's weirdly placed in the city and much like Seatgeek Stadium, it's not really a part of the community. It's borderline separated from everything. Not to forget too the issue of Soldier Field making people automatically think of the most hated family in Chicago, the McCaskey's
Salary Cap, joining fee, weird names, no pro/rel, playoffs and no importance to regular season and abandoning the US Open Cup and creating a cash grab leagues cup and plastic ultras are the main reason.
In short summary Europeans have goddy standards 😂😂😂
A good half of the ultras in the league are plastic. They are only there to be entertained. Of course, there are many great supporters, like LAFC and Portland who provide unconditional support. However, I must agree with the original comment.
Couldn't have said it better myself. It is a cheap imitation of what we have in Europe and frankly Africa/Asia. Quality wise Africa and Asia aren't there, but they have genuine passion and functional league systems
Galaxy fans got their leadership changed. Bugging
You need to do more research. Galaxy fans literally organized a mass boycott to force ownership to fire the president and make changes, immediately resulting in winning MLS cup the next year.
OK, so NYC FC didn't make either the best OR the worst. Fuck it, I'll take it! Just like this team, sometimes we're grateful just to be mid!
I love NYC FC and am a proud member of the Third Rail, and I absolutely adore the community that's built around our team...but, we're definitely not the biggest MLS fanbase (certainly compared to any of our fellow NYC sports teams, including the duo of football teams outside the actual city - hell, there's even a case to be made that Gotham is almost on our level. But never the Dead Bulls!), and while I think our new stadium in 2027 will help with that, since it'll be easier for more people to attend, I understand us not even getting an honorable mention. No arguments about this list. I've had nothing but positive interactions with the fans listed here, and they're always welcome at Citi Field (yay!) or Yankee Stadium (blech). ¡Vamos Los Celestes!
@@SuperJNG18 Hey there! Fellow NYCFC fans here, and not adding them as a honorable mention was hard! Once that stadium is built, they’ll be a top 3 fanbase!
@@AlwaysHalftimeYuuurrrrr you know it!!
While I don't meet many outside fans (just cause I don't really have an interest too, which is a pain when we're traveling and drinking in bars) I know many people hate coming to NYCFC games. Outside the stadium, besides the Third Rail, pretty much every other one of our SG's may just give you an issue. I remember seeing a Revs fan going towards our supporters section and I warned him like I wouldn't keep going over there and someone tried snatching one of his scarves before even making it to 236-237. Was probably going to meet someone from the Third Rail. Don't think he lost anything that night but was definitely not cause there wasn't an attempt.
Where did you get the typo on the video? It looks really cool! Thanks!
Because the league is worthless
So are many other leagues
I'm from the UK, thing with MLS is it's not an elite league right now the big 4 are Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A) to be fair MLS is miles ahead of where it was in 1996, I think it's a pretty fun league to watch and honestly the standard isn't too bad, I think the MLS is better football than the Scottish league for example (Celtic and Rangers aside) right now, I'd probably say MLS is pretty close to being Eredivisie standard (apart from the Dutch big 3, Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV) they're still tweaking certain things, and MLS is improving slowly all the time, the US also has some genuine quality players now, Christian Pulisic has been a star for Milan, Antonee Robinson is one of the best left backs around right now, Gio Reyna has very high potential, he just needs to sort his club situation out at some point
Chivas Guadalajara? What you were doing on the USA?
They had a subsidiary, Chivas USA, which didn't work.
@ hmm, thx
As a european it is quite interesting to see that I genuinely think the old crests of US soccer teams are usually better than the new ones, just like here in Europe. Especially after I saw the new Sounders crest
I'm an RSL fan, and I think it's cool that we've never updated our logo. It was already classy, so no need to change it. 👍 Also, holy crap I feel old. I can't believe the team's been around for 20 years now, it seriously feels like it was just a few years ago. 😢
Charlotte FC????

If this was a list of the top ten teams, they would be here and that’s a promise
Inter miami GOAT
As someone from Chicago I can say the Fire don’t exist here. The stadium is a dump and hard to get to, the team sucks, and the ownership doesn’t even care. Hopefully that changes but until then no one is going to go to games. Even when they were decent the stadium wasn’t even in the city and really out of the way
As a Rapids fan it is hard to be a fan when the owner’s keep screwing us over. We have a good fan base, but our Owner’s are trash.
As someone from St. Louis, you all have my sympathies.
Inter Miami should be here. Their fanbase is fake. And even with superstars, they have weak support.
That’s because they’re in Miami. They have terrible fans across all their teams
They had somewhat a legit fanbase when the team first started but there was so much fighting between supporters, and when Messi came all the supporters for the team melted away and just filled up with Messi fanboys/girls
Agreed
LAFC has the worst fans ive ever witnessed. The ones that traveled to MLS Cup in Columbus were terrible. The supporters were sitting on the second level above us. I was at the game with my 5 year old daughter. When LAFC scored, over half of the fans started throwing/pouring beer and trash down on Crew supporters. While I was trying to shield my daughter, i looked up and two guys poured beer right onto both of us. They then both gave us the finger and then the guy next to them threw a hotdog and ketcup down. Myself and daughter were completely soaked in the cold weather. Of course she was crying and i could hear the couple guys laughing at her. Now she doesnt want to go back to watch the Crew play again because shes scared shes going to get hurt. Ive never seen fans more disgusting than LAFC supporters. They were also terrible during Leagues Cup final. Really hope those fans enjoyed watching losing two trophies in quick succession.
A couple of bad apples don’t represent all of us. Most LAFC supporters are great.
It was more than a few bad apples. It was the majority of fans that traveled to Columbus. I was only speaking of the two that did that to my daughter and I. But we were not the only ones it happened too. Can't remember where I saw the video but someone posted a video of what happened after LAFC scored. You can see almost the entire section start throwing crap down over the balcony.
There's absolutely no excuse for that but I have to question your ownership's decision to allow visiting fans in the home end. I know the upper deck isn't technically considered the supporters section but they should have been smarter than that.
@@adamb6033 pretty sure ownership had nothing to do with ticket sales or anything for MLS Cup. The league controls all of that. That's why it was a complete s*it show trying to get tickets. For one, they released a presale code that sponsors used to get tickets. Then they sent it out to the wrong people. Then, they allowed anyone to buy tickets for the support section. MLS Cup 2023 was a complete mess to begin with. Garber did a terrible job organizing it. Also, the LAFC supporters were not above the home end. You're probably talking about the supporter section because technically, the entire stadium is the home stand. LAFC supporters were on the opposite side of the Nordecke and could buy tickets anywhere in the stadium.
@@adamb6033 where else could they put them? Bowel movement stadium only has 22,000 seats, lol. That’s the same as most basketball arenas.
Crew not being top ten is fucking wild
We mentioned the Crew as an honorable mention as this list was only top 5. If this list was a top ten, I can assure you a team as notable and passionate as Columbus would have been #6
ah.. quite the history.. compared to europe
For 30 years, this is pretty damn impressive
@AlwaysHalftime hm? it is? what can possibly be the history behind the MLS this early on? that they bought big players? pele? not much apart from that not been enough time for any big fixtures to pop up (great rivalries) maybe in 100 years the mls will be impressive being a big league in america too (footy is growing in america quite a lot)
Some European fans are so desperate to hang on for dear life to the one thing they have left that Americans haven't conquered, which was originally called soccer by the Brits, then changed to football when Americans invented an aerodynamic ball that could travel 70 yards in the air by both hand and foot, Brits will go to such lengths as to disallow even one single American soccer player on their precious pitch. Christian Pulisic is the best soccer player in the world. You can ramble on with all kinds of meaningless nonsense to say otherwise if you want. Christian Pulisic has been world class since he left Hershey Pennsylvania for Dortmund Germany at age 16. He has grown into an instant legend at AC Milan. Just last week, he hoisted yet another trophy for a struggling team, thanks to his invaluable efforts. Some European fans really need to open up to the idea of an American being the best at their sport.
That opening line is crazy! Awesome comment brother!
I love seeing the haters. They've been doubting Pulisic since he took the giant leap from Hershey to Dortmund. He's been proving them wrong every single step of the way. I love watching European fans eat their words. Europeans are so blind they won't see what Pulisic is until it's all said and done. Then they won't say a motherfucking word.
To me, he’s world class. Of course many would disagree and argue why, but it’s just a title which people take too seriously. It doesn’t change who he is.
Beautifully said sir
Chicago Fire and New York Red Bulls have the most tortured fanbases in MLS
San Jose right there with the right now
Atlanta, Seattle, Columbus, Philly and Kansas IMHO but I think Portland has a unique stadium & good fans too BUT not a fan of militant activists anymore
Don't forget, Austin has sold out every game at Q2 in our 4 year existence! 😉I understand us not being placed, but we have a lot passion, compared to most of the league.
Im from Arizona so my team is in the USL, but I was very surprised to see Cincinnati and LAFC over a team like AFC.
Also don't forget most Austin fans were perfectly fine with ripping a team out of Columbus. They also have an owner that won't play an away game in Columbus either.
@@hackrjack LAFC had 6 years of sold out games and better fans overall 😂
french here, i'm a football fan since my birth, i want to say that I don't like the abbreviations "FC" on mls teams because the US in other sports uses names of symbols, animals or a subject which characterizes their franchise. It's strange to see FCLA, FC Nashville, FC Cincinnati, FC Dallas, FC Toronto next to flashier names like LA Galaxy, New York Redbull, City, Revolution, Crew, United or even Sounders.
Agreed! Names like Colorado Rapids & Portland Timbers are way better. The problem is the league is forgetting it’s an American League, and trying to appeal to more people on the global scale by using more common names like “United” and FC/SC.
Disagree. I’m okay either way. Because Soccer/Football is a widely recognized international sport. Its very important for the MLS to attract audiences internationally as well. Signing a popular player like Messi who is from Argentina has considerably made the league more popular domestically and internationally. They tried to Americanize/Domesticate soccer at first but it didn’t give them any success. So honestly, attracting to international audiences is a good thing because ideally you want to attract both domestic and international audiences to be successful.
I get St. Louis is young, but they traveled better than almost every fan base in MLS this year, had some incredible tifos frequently, sell out every single home match, and are housed in arguably the biggest soccer city in the US. Not including them at least in the conversation but instead putting them in the thumbnail for “worst fan bases” is absolutely astounding😭
Hey there! we kept the thumbnails and video largely based off of majority opinions and our own takes. My opinion on St Louis is actually very high, I think they are a great club with great fans. The rest of the league seems to hate you guys. I saw a list claiming STL to be the most annoying fanbase, which I DO DISAGREE WITH DO NOT WORRY lol. But yes you are right, I should have included them in the honorable mentions
@@AlwaysHalftimeWhose opinions? I want names! Kidding but I am curious how you guys came to your conclusions. On a side note, I'm excited to know that we may have license to use the old "No one likes us, we don't care" chant at our matches this season. 😆
@@adamb6033 I'm actually a fan of SLC's fans. Maybe cuz Soccer Zombie has done a lot to expose the vibrancy and passion of the fanbase. I love watching a fanbase grow organically like that, and embrace the ability to shape the fan culture of a club that'll hopefully be around for generations.
New england kept their old logo since the creation of the mls mad respect
Chicago should have done the same!
Indonesian milanista present: If you love Puli, you should love Milan too because they are a match made in heaven. I hope Puli, Leao, Reijnders, Fofana, Theo and Maignan can be the core of the new Dream Team.. Forza Pulisic, Forza Milan..
He is not world class, "World class " means he takes a starting shirt in any of the top teams in the world. He is not starting in either of the Madrids, Barca, Liverpool, Bayern, Inter, Man city Arsenal, Argentina, Spain, France, Brazil, Netherlands and Germany. How many world class seasons has he had stat wise, performance wise and eye test wise. He is a good player in great form. He is not top five or top 10 in his position in the world.
