Frisbee Dogs
Friday 1/17/14. After a 3 week to the day effort to reestablish medication for RA I finally got 100 ML of Methotrexate. 50 ML ENBREL and after 3 hours of letting that soak into my joints I went outside to find it was 77 degrees and crystal Blue. You can see an 8,000 ft peak in the back ground on Mt Lemmon 18 miles away. This little Park is just a short distance from my house. My dogs suffer more than I do when I feel to bad to get and out play with them. We try to do this at least 3 times a week. ED still wants to play keep away. Vixxen is getting good at catching the Frisbee. Normally I can't throw it to hard or it hurts. Up until a year ago I was doing a mile run with stops to 25 push ups at stations and other work outs. Then the meds stopped working and it has been a literal bitch for the last year or more.

Rock Climbing Shoes Blues
Переглядів 67811 років тому
I wrote a song about "Rock Climbing Shoes" more than 20 years ago. I got an acoustic guitar for my birthday last year. I traded a tiny piece of gold (.09 of a gram) for it. I was playing around with the guitar a while back and found the riff for the song. I have never (EVER) tried to sing and play my guitar at the same time. I was having a nice rest day after my birthday near the top of Mt Lemm...

Soothsayer by Buckethead. Kevin Grace playing guitar. Vixen dancing in the "Moth Pit". GD wobbling the lights and heckling. We sang "The Slithery Dee" by The Smothers Brothers next.

Kevin Grace playing guitar at Area - 51. All the drills were down and there was no loud 747's screaming all night. We had a great time. 100 watt Amp a couple of lanterns and headlamp. Several hours until it got too cold. The guitar kept going out of tune from the chilly night air.

John Lennon woke me last night and told me to make this. He said he wrote the song so I should use it. He is ashamed of what is happening and he is turning over and over in his grave. I then said to him "Who Are YOU?"
Another White Man Fire
Переглядів 11011 років тому
At the end of a long day rewiring my van after nearly burning it to the ground from a shorted power wire in the engine compartment, I finally got to have a nice night with zero wind and time to relax and enjoy sitting by the fire playing guitar.I built another White Man Fire.
How to Create a "White Man Fire"
Переглядів 33411 років тому
A few days of cold weather at 5,000 ft. Enough snow and rain had fallen this last week to still have fresh water running freely. I never use rock rings as you have always seen people make. You can dig a smaller pit beside a fire mound to pull down some coals for cooking. But never use wet or cold rocks near a big fire they explode like land mines! It has always been the wrong way to dig a hole ...
Cindy Lou Who?

This video is a collage of photos from a time I dated a woman much younger than me who ultimately left me for a much older man? I tried to gather all these photos and slides to send to her so she would have something to recall the adventures we shared. But, after several months of tedious work I realized there was, is still a copious amount of photos and slides that were not just of her but of ...

My Dad would have been 80 years old on the 24th of February. I still have his ashes as you can see at the end of the slide show. A series of slides showing life from beginning to End. Human's, Planets, Plants and Animals all live in a cycles and have are created go through changes and are returned to cosmic Dust. Thanks to Kevin Grace for the sound Track music.
Trinocerous Rock

This is between Rose Canyon and Lizard Head. Old Ed and I found it about 4 years ago. I had just started using a camera so I could show my climbing friends the places I was finding and the climbs I was actually doing. Old Ed is in the beginning and Edgard is at the end. His eyes were so beautiful and now they are almost black from some kind of damage. Very sad indeed.
A Vertical Life
Переглядів 25412 років тому
From the first technical climbing classes I made friends with people who are still my friends today. I taught them and climbed with them and we created a bond different than any other I have known. Climbing is not a sport; Climbing is a way of life. The vertical world of rock takes you high enough that you can see yourself. Climbing is a physical game of chess that demands a level of concentrat...
The Thimble
Переглядів 85712 років тому
For 15 years Kevin and I have looked at this rock but it was so buried by brush you could not get to the face. I cleaned a path to it last time and took out some big rocks at the base. It was not quite what we imagined but it is hard and thin with rounded top exit. Really nice and only 100 yard walk from the end of the road. With the Edstone and now the Thimble you can do 6 routes in a matter o...

Resolution Mine has just reneged on all their agreements of preserving any part of Oak Flats. Apache Leap Historical Site, Devils Canyon which harbors endangered Ocelots, all access to areas through the mines "Claim" will soon be stopped. Some of best climbing in the world will be ground up into dust supposedly for Copper. But there is only 20 years of potential copper in the 20 square miles th...

The end of this road is a 4 wheel drive road. Although the torn up paved section is the worst paved road in Arizona. Nice section of dirt in the middle. 3 miles from the end of the road @ A-51 to the turn out on highway 60. This entire area is being closed by piece of shit mine to all public access especially the 4 wheel areas and access to the best climbing areas in Arizona. They are Fucking t...

I'm sorry to hear it has gotten so bad. I wish there was some escape from the pain for you. My mom found a Chinese med that seemed to work for her, but I wouldn't know how to get it in the states. I'll ask my sister what it was called. BTW: Your editing has gotten quite good.

At the 6 min mark, the timing is right on. There might be a slight difference in the speed of the recorder and the cam. It was slightly off until that point. I'm trying to figure this out so next time it will be just right. The sound was very good though, pretty clean.

The problem is called Blissium and does not use any of the upper jugs on the traverse that you used. It is contrived. It finishes by lunging way left of where you grabbed and then your right hand finishes in a 3 finger pocket. Your version is probably V6 or less.

Whenever some one uses the term "easy" to describe any problem over V1, I know I am about to get sandbagged. I spent an entire summer on an "easy" V4 in Georgia only to find out holds had broke, etc, and no-one wanted to inform me of that fact. I think you can get this one. Hows that hold on the lip? It looks like you could scrub up your feet a little more to prepare for the mantle.

@Kelebrinlith I haven't been to Beardsley in many years and plan to go back since starting to get back into climbing shape. What is access like now? It was a dump when I used to go but I loved it all the same. Is it cleaned up?

I miss climbing out there so much. I fell trying that first route and busted up my arm, missed the crash pad. Tore a vein and had to go to run out to the road while dialing 911. A couple of stitches and an ER visit, the next day I was back. Sadly here in michigan we don't have what you guys got
