my 2000 F-150 v6 4.2l uses this transmission. Ours is pretty shredded, and I'd like to buy a new/reman'd one. Is tehre a big online shop that is reputable to buy from? I really don't want to go the ebay route.

Hey man. It’s a really good video. A suggestion for improvement? I would imagine most of the viewers of this vid are fairly mechanically adept. Identifying the various components and installing in the correct direction is challenging. Your experience allowed you to identify on the fly when something wasn’t correct. I have an AllData sub, and it is almost useless for a general (though broad) mechanic such as myself. Your vid would be absolutely perfect if you took a moment to demonstrate proper orientation of parts. On a purely selfish note, I am having issues with my keys continually falling out even though properly assembled. I suspect my keeper springs are shot. Any thoughts as to how “normal” this is?

So any seals that would fail or bearing failure on a non concentric slave would still require removal of the transmission it seems. Is that correct? Seems like leaking fluid would damage the "slave cylinder" bearing on a concentric slave as easily as it would on an external slave cylinder with a fork.

Anyone have a part number for that 3-4 synchro thrust washer? Can't seem to find it anywhere

The rubber ring is for shipping. Seals the tail housing from gunk slip yoke pushes it forward upon install

I'm in the process of inspecting the 5 speed manual trans off my 2001 civic LX. Do you possibly have its clearance specs for the shift forks and synchronizer?

I think that's the same transmission I need to convert my 2003 Ford explorer to a manual. The 5R55 automatic is prone to problems. Do you know if the transfer case will bolt up to the back of that one?

i have that exact tranny in my 95 f150, just got a new slave to install, but i think its defective as it cant be compressed by hand .. should it be able to like my old one or should it be stiff until actuated after install? appreciate these videos muchly!..thanks

Seems common for 3rd gear to have a grinding problem. They couldn't leave things alone and put in some crappy fiber blocker ring for third gear. Great.

How did you lower that pw? Did you build rear shock mounts?

Just did the clutxh,dual flywheel and concentric slave on my 08 escape .I also have a 98 honda accord I did clutch and flywheel on but them Hondas have external slaves.

Thanks for the video. My 19 Tacoma has started leaking gear oil where it meets the trans. It appeared from the video the only thing that could cause that is the cover you took off at 12:50. You think that’s the culprit ? I don’t see anywhere else it could be leaking from.

Sticking clutch pedal....can this internal slave be guilty of not fully returning?

Hello, thanks for the video. I have Fiat Bravo 2 1.6 multijet 105hp. From 1-2 weeks I have an issue with the clutch - when I am going on first and reverse gear the car is vibrating and annoying rasping sound is heard on the front of the car. Sometimes I am not even able to shift the gears and when I turn off the car and pump the clutch and then the car start shifting and driving off without vibrations. Could it be a problem with the clutch release bearing? Or because of old brake fluid and air in the system? Thanks in advance!
