BMW 2002 Roundie: Installing a new tail panel on my $800 1970 BMW 2002 E10.
Переглядів 10 тис.4 роки тому
Hey everyone! Join me as I introduce my latest car project and also cover my installation of a new rear tail panel on this vintage BMW! When I purchased this 1970 BMW 2002 about two years ago, it had the wrong style rear tail panel with the rectangular style brake lights instead of the round ones. Either the car had a fender bender and this was all they could find at the time, or maybe someone ...
I can hear your frustration. 2 years later, people are still learning from your mistakes LOL
Thanks for the video. Also trying to find some info on seat airbag replacement, but no luck. any experience with that?
Amazing video!!! do you have the total cost to rebuild this tesla? Also why would tesla take away the FSD?
those shope light diffuser in the back? gotta a name or a link?
Thanks for the inspiration, I just got a 74 tii in decent shape. So you found that flapper disc better than any other disc for grinding and stripping? tia NMDerek
I like your solutions!
Do you have a video on how to remove knee airbags?
Thank you! You are doing the lords work!!
Where did you get your new airbags from?
Ebay!
Bro thanks for your video! I struggled for like 15 minutes as it would partially pop out but wouldn’t fully unseat. Just pushed it back in liked you did and finally got it. Best.
Once airbags are replaced does the computer need recoding/resetting and how do you do that? Or does it need to go back to Tesla?
Wow this is amazing!
Nice job, though the trunk floor is going to need attention at the rear edge. Always liked 2002s since our neighbor got one back in 1970 over so.
Congrats 😍
The ultimate driving machine!!
P𝐫O𝕞O𝓢m 😎
Thats all a lie. You can replace the pyro fuse and drive that thing around now.
Good to know! I'm just about done with the airbags at this point. Just had the airbag module rebuilt. I will be putting it back in soon! It still needs some front end stuff... broken lower control arm and a broken drive axle. Hopefully, it will be driving under it's own power soon!
Hi, I did it the other way around on my build. Replaced the pyro fuse first then airbags that will allow you to move that car on it’s on power. Mine was also blue 😂
Thanks for the info! I really want to get this car moving on it's own soon. I just got our Quick Jack setup in my garage. It was a HUGE pain.
Hey quick question I got a wrecked Tesla yesterday mine is not going to drive If I replace the power fuse by itself with replacing the airbags, can you move forward and back
@@dadquan6933what year?
I suggest investing in a rechargeable power ratchet. I have a Husky and is a real time saver. Less chance of cracking the glass in this situation.
Sounds good! I'll look into it!
Is this the “I LIKE TO SEE YOU WIGGLE WIGGLE FOR SURE” guy!!????
The over spray is horrible
Great vid!
Thanks Jo!
I'll be watchin, hope it goes well
Thanks Brother!!!
Bring on the next episode!!!
Thanks man! It's in the works!!
Wow. Looks like you have a lot of work ahead of you.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where can I buy this rear round panel?
I bought mine directly from BMW.
1970???? How can a 70 have square taillights?
I think someone converted it to square back end sometime in the 1980's. They did some crazy stuff back then. I put it back to a roundie.... like it should have been.
Is that 2002,alphine White, it would look nice all white the other colors I was thinking that blue that you have or even an orange,
I am impressed, that you converted the 1972 BMW,2002 from square tail lights to the round, ones that is quite impressive,👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks man! It was actually a 1970 BMW 2002. I was originally a roundie that someone else had converted to square brake lights at some point.... I think in the '80s.
Always love seeing other channels do 2002 stuff. Subscribed!
Thanks man!
Where get rear tail panel
I ordered it directly from BMW.
Hi Hakan here from Sweden, like your project and i wish you good luck with everything. I have 3 02: cars and a few other old Beamers. Im sure there are some good supliers of the metsl parts you need. I bye most of my stuf directly from germany, deasent pricing. The web store is called Wallot Nesch bmw parts. They have a lot of the hard to find parts. Id put a link to a UA-cam vid of a few of my o2:s Hakan

Hey I'm restoring a 1973 2002tii Agave green and looking for nice sun visors Do you know of a source? I needed a nose, one door and new trunk panel Pre galvanized cars can be sooooo rusty!!!
Thanks Man!
great find! pretty insane that you got an early model with the sunroof for only 800 bucks
Thanks! I know right?!?
Hi, I would like to do the same but I can’t find the rear panel. Could you let me know where it can be found please ? Thanks
I was able to order it directly from BMW. Not sure if they are still available or not.
This is the video I needed to see! I am in the process of converting mine to a roundie. my roundie is a goner but the tail panel is going to get used on my square tail. Don't judge! Did you cut directly in the indent mark on the tail? This will be my first time cutting and welding but I am going to practice on some scrap parts. By the way, you got a sub from me! Thanks for this video.
Also, it looks like you cut the whole panel out. The part you cut out that protrudes, is that where the panel meets the trunk floor? Any tips and/or suggestions when doing this? I will be cutting my roundie and square tail for this swap.
@@stevenandchey6172 Hey Steven! Correct. I cut the entire panel out. At first, I only cut out the top section, but I ended up cutting out the entire panel later. For the sides, I cut about 2 inches from the actual seam. Then I went back and carefully trimmed, with the side of the grinder... feathering the metal until to leave enough to weld back on. It's still not perfect. Stay tuned for my next video where I'm going to be finishing it!
Awesome video! I live in Seattle and have a 76 I’m slowly reviving... wondering if you would be interested in parting with those square taillights? Let me know and keep up the good work!
Any thoughts on those tail lights?
@@zaeos Hello! I've sold some of my square style rear tail lights already. I still have one pair that I am holding on to for the moment. Thanks! If I ever list them, I will put it on my Instagram story. Follow me at @LowKeyBuilds
