My lenovo legion slim 5 with a ryzen 7 8845hs and 4060 seemed insanely hot on the cpu to me, i was not comfortable with the gaming temperatures being around 90-100 degrees celsius.. but had returned my first one due to a dead pixel, when i received the second one it was the same heating issue. But by simply turning off cpu turbo boost it solved all the heating issues! Now the highest the cpu has gone is 71 degrees, even during stress testing and gaming

I have the rtx 4070 and am loving it. Can play alan wake on high at 1440p at 70fps. It's a great laptop! All fps such as battlefield and COD playable at 120 fps 1440 stable. It's also very quiet. Ultra settings and RT is not needed at all and games look better than on my series X. Recommended! I use my laptop for work and casual gaming and ticks all the boxes.

All CPUs are a lottery to some extent, if youre lucky, you can REALLY undervolt this cpu. I got it down to -180 on all cores and -110 on cache and it runs fairly stable.

The audio needs to be better (seems like the mic isn't close to your mouth) but decent video all n all.

I have an Asus Rog G16 Strix (2024 version) with an i9-14900HX and was having some insane instability issues playing games. I've used the Armoury crate to lower both the PL1 and PL2 to 70W, much lower than what was originally set on manual mode... So far I'm not having any problems. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If there's suggestions I can take or if I'm doing this incorrectly, please let me know. I've been playing both Final Fantasy XIV and First Descendant and went to the highly populated areas to see if performance would suffer. To my delight, everything is still working as fine.

It’s crazy to me how some outlets were saying this laptop got too hot to touch during gaming. That’s couldn’t be further from the truth. My hand on the wasd keys never starts sweating due to the heat from the keyboard deck. The real issue on my sample at least is thermal throttling on the cpu. In short demanding loads it almost always throttled and I’ve recorded package temps of 101 degrees Celsius.

Thanks. I recently bought the Asus G16 for video editing, but Asus threw a spanner in the works by dropping the ProArt P16 (basically the creators version of the G16 but way more expensive). Only difference seems to be the touch screen, creators hub, lower refresh rate and the new creative apps like MuseTree. Not sure it's worth the extra £ 😅

Hi i recently got a legion with i7 13700hx cpu. i wanna ask how you come to choose 119W for short term power and 75W for long term power usage. How is the temp of your cpu during high cpu demanding games?

Tried the program, apparently both are set to unlimited on the 14900K. Had so many problems recently with crashes, issues to boot etc. that I think I will send it in for a second time since last time it was a faulty CPU and they replaced it. But I did try the stress test for fun, it was at 100% throttling the whole time, program crashed within 3 minutes, screens kept flickering black every 30 seconds or so and core temp measured all cores to be 90+°C as if the test was still going even though the program crashed. I guess kudos to this program because OCCT couldn't get anything to happen in 2 hours of testing CPU + RAM.

Really annoying that there is no Windows Hello camera OR a fingerprint scanner.
