Caves and more caves at Glentana
A woman had advised us not to continue shortly after we started. Three of us ignored her and continued only to be more than happy we decided to. Other members of the group turned round and headed towards the Mosselbay direction. I hope you enjoy the heaps of caves we explores and rock formations

Decided to go and check out the sunset from the top and going to the cross was almost logic 101. Enjoy. Tomorrow is the Bosduif that looks down onto the Touws river from high up on the viewpoint and then a knuckle buster of a climb on Sunday
One of the best places to swim

With high temperatures over the past few days we could do with a swim. One of the shorter hikes to do so as to get to a great swimming spot in the mountains is on this video. I left the best past for the recording.

Did this one many ages ago and there were parts I clean forgot about. I just love been all along the edge. It also has caves of which one we went to go and check and unfortunately missed the other two. Trail goes past the Pinnacle point golf course with some beautiful housing to check out as well.

Different options on this one and although we did not opt for the longest one we did in the end decide to extend the one we were originally going to do. With high tide only coming in at 15:00, it didnt really matter whether we went clockwise or anti-clockwise

Just looking back at this idea we had, id like more people to join us at a stage knowing its possible.
Melt knows the safety measurements, that's why he probably did not do this trail. This is his baby and if he doesn't pitch I will go with his guts. If you organise a group you have to think of their safety. Not just yea let's do it without thinking of the group's safety. We also had this hike scheduled, but safety is my priority. Glad you enjoyed it and are safe.
Hoe gaan dit Hester ? Goed om van jou te hoor en mis jou geselskap :-) Thanks so much for watching this 🙂🙂🙂 mmmm ? Im not to sure if i must take that up as though im some or nother irresponsible dude. Thanks for your comments on what i must think about when I organise a group and your apparent obligation to advise me. Everyone had a choice and everyone made their choice. If we didnt check the tide days before the time the three of us who did do it would not be so f#$% stupid to just go head on and hope fore the best 🙂 The decision of those not to go was based on some womans comments that wasnt part of us and i personally think that what she said was nothing more than a bunch of .....after my own experience. . However, i fully respected the choice of those who preferred not to go and there was at least eight of them. They opted to walk the opposite way. We came together at the restaurant afterwords and had a ball. Im also happy to mention that everyone always knows that every hike is at their own risk since im not interested in money and therefore dont charge anyone 🙂 Its still very nice of you to be concerned. Im not mentioning any individuals name here :-) However, you may have recognised one of the two who did join me. Maybe ask him how he felt while doing the walk 🙂 Stay in touch 🙂
Glad you are all safe and that you had a blast. Not quite sure why you are always referring to money, but anyway have a great day.
@@HesterStander-g1z Thanks Hester 🙂
Is this route father than tonnelbos one
I wouldnt say so since you have some higher grounds to climb. Id say this route is either the same amount of time but more likely longer than the full tonnelbos one
Hello Sir Have a good day today. Recently I visited your youtube channel.Your youtube channel is very well organized . However you don't get many views. The main reason for this is not to SEO your videos. If you want I can fix this problem. I am a youtube SEO expert and digital marketer. I am waiting for your reply. Thanks & Regards
Hi me and my friend ran past you guys we were the 2 boys on the way down we camped the night at the cave and when we got there it was like that the only thing we touche was the crate with the book to read the names and we put everything back as we found it love the videos by the way
No problem man 🙂 I also thought to myself that some of the stuff there has been there for quite a while. You sure were superfit when you came down hey :-) . Ive hidden some water up there coz at some stage im also going to camp there. Thanks for following the channel 🙂
Ive also told the people on the group that were with me that its definately not your fault or problem :-)
@@Outeniqua_Hiking Thank you and smart on the water we ran out about half way down but luckily we went past a stream and ya it is nice to see some videos of George hiking 💪
We were doing a night walk at the Botanical Garden and saw you 👏🤩🙌
@@JuneLouw That's lekker. :-) Small world we live in hey :-)
What a lovely hike and sundown we had!
@@elsjeeloff3986 Definately. Nice and orange to red in the west :-)
Hey! I hiked cradock a day ago and it was my first time up there. It was incredible but it took us 10 hours and I am dead tired now😅
I can believe you. Highest and hardest one around here but also has the best views around doesnt it. You welcome to tell me whether you started at Witfontein or whether you went up via George peak on the VK. Im guessing Witfontein like we did last time ?
We started at witfontein and were planning on going down the VK but we ended up going back the way we came, so it ended up being 17 kilometres in total. We only have 2 peaks left and we’ve done all 6 peaks.
@@ashb1982 Cool. Lasttime I did it was also with a group i organised but it was the only time I / we ended up back at Witfontein at night. It was rather frustrating to acommodate a friend that couldnt go much faster but he made it. Yea Groenkop is the only one of the 6 i havnt done yet and since one of my friends has been "neeking" me to do it , its on the cards 🙂 I think ill start from SaasvelD. PS! Unless youve seen it theres a video of that climb up to Cradock not too long ago 🙂ua-cam.com/video/3OO5GUC7lgw/v-deo.html
Im wondering if you feel like joining us this Sunday at 7am top of 9th ave Denneoord to do Vandalens peak 🙂Theres only 4 or 5 of us. ua-cam.com/video/AsUD8NRXeig/v-deo.html
@@Outeniqua_Hiking That sounds great! I’ll ask my dad if we can, but if we can’t this time we will probably join you guys on the Groenkop hike since we haven’t done that one yet🙂
Good as it is
Thanks Ampie 🙂
Whats the backstory / detail on these dams? Where are they and for what purpose are they being built?
Two reservoirs being built. Probably to save up water thats been pumped up from the dam and which then goes through the filtering stations before going into the cement reservoirs. Thats my accurate guess
Ek geniet jou video's baie.Sal baie nice wees as jy dalk net voor elke video in kort kan se hoe n mens by die roetes kom.Dankie
Eks bly jy hou van hulle. Lekker as iemand so nou en dan kommentaar lewer. As ek ook net onthou kan ek so maak.
Hey I met you on the trail! I was wearing to marmite shirt. The hike was awesome and I’m glad I found your channel.
Great stuff man. I had marmite on Pro vitas tonight . What a catchy way to remember someone . Im wondering if you guys made it to Cradock peak and whether you turned right on the saddle to George peak ? I believe you at the right place if you want to see the other trails 🙂 Thanks for searching and finding this.
@@Outeniqua_HikingNo problem! We carried on to the top of George peak. The hike was really fun but the hardest part is going down again😂 But cradock peak is definitely next on the list. I’m really glad I found the channel because it is handy to see other trails that we can go hike.
@@ashb1982 Great stuff and good for you, You more than welcome to ask questions here about trails and if or when we meet again I can give you my cell no if you want it 🙂 If you want to do me a favor you can leabe comments at evry other video you maybe watch and dont forget to subscribe unless you already have 🙂

Your video-making is very good. Your content ideas are very good. But due to some problems in your channel, views and subscribers are not increasing, they need to be solved. Have a great day!
Thanks for going to explore!
Pleasure . Now we at least know. Thanks for letting me know about it .
Hi, would love someone to come and explore our property, apparently there are also caves here but I cannot do it myself. Great videos!
That sounds very interesting and inviting . Whereabout is your property ? We are always up for exploring .

Wow Karl I never realised there are so many trails in the Outeniquas. Well done and thanks for sharing with us!!! I wish I was a lot lot younger. How far was this route? Thx again
Hi June. There sure are plenty of routes in the mountain. This one we did was 21km
Very nice to have met you up at the hut ,and i love the videos
Hi Pieter. Good for you dat julle opgegaan het hut toe. Thanks a lot. Yes this particular one was postponed over and over again due to weather but we finally had a day to do it 🙂 Harde een maar n' lekker een
AWESOME BAIE Dankie
Plesier Charl.
Begin langs treinspoor.Maw, soos jul teruggekom het.Waar gaan mens in om by ou dam uit te kom.Dankie
Hi. Dis redelik maklik eintlik. Jy sal by die dam uitkom. Dankie dat jy my kanaal volg 🙂 As jy nie regkom nie, message my weer .
Baie dankie
@@MeyerFerreira-b5o Enige tyd.
Thanks Karl👨🏼🦯
Hi Karl, awesome video, some great audio in here too, thanks for a great day
Hi Carl. Thanks man. As always is nice having you along. You are a great inspiration to any blind people
I'd love to know places where you are allowed to hike and pitch a tent close to George
One would probably find that strictly speaking one is not allowed to camp in the mountain but who cares as long as one keeps it clean. Places to put up a tent are actually few and far between . I had a great spot in the past where i took my tent regularly and watched the George lights go on at night. Place the burnt with mountain fires and wattle trees took over. Found bosslaper close there recently and left him a note to f off coz the place was dirty. When i went back he was gone 🙂

Go slow!! Over do it to start will end this early from injury, just start with half what you feel like you could do, then build up. Love the mental attitude to be better.
That sounds like good advice. Better than getting to dislike it too soon :-)
keep goin
Thanks for the encouragement :-)

Id say it was. Id have liked to record more of the surroundings but my best friend was afraid that id be giving it away to too many locals here even if i disagreed with him :-) Really like the swings there.

Good to see the bridge is completed

Will do this as soon as possible again but must throw in some different ones soon . Feel free to comment and make suggestions. Tell us what part of the mountain you have seen on this channel is your favorite 🙂
Hello! Its always so much fun to watch these videos. Is there anywhere that one can get a map of all these trails? There are so many cool places in the mountains but as a newbie. I dont know where to start.
Hi Stefan. Join as if you want to 🙂 Let me know if you seriously thinking about it. We all just friends. Another place where you could find maps that i have measured on most is wikiloc. If you look for Karl Heyns and you see its in the George area, it can only be me. That being said, the more friends we make the better. Coming Sunday we going to do some kloofing in the Keur river. Ive also got a whatsapp group where people are told about the hikes before the time
Fantastic upload, this trail looks so atmospheric my friend!
