Great footage. Very well done.
Central vpa school is so so sad. Cotton Belt Freight Depot is one of the first buildings that got me interested in abandoned structures. What is the song on this one?
My little five year old boy said "It is sad seeing those schools empty, but this music make it even sadder" Very well done.
The Church @ 1:26 is being worked on by the Mexican community. It's going slow but it is persistent.
Yes, it seeemd to be under contruction/repair when I filmed this last summer. At least something is being saved from the wrecking ball or mother nature!! We need more of that.
The church at :26 on Hebert at Jefferson has been torn down but the steeple is still standing. I believe there must be a problem with the funds to pay or licensing or something, because for the last two months or so there is this pile of rubble and a large crane just sitting there along with a bull dozer, hmmm
Great videos!! I've binged watched all of your work and I'm really impressed with your matching of music to the video. They are hauntingly beautiful music videos. As an ex St. Louis person, it is really great to see the area from your perspective. Glad you got your drone replaced! Keep em' comming! ;-)
Thank you!! I will have several more videos coming for the St. Louis area in the next few weeks and months as well as other locations in the midwest after that! Stay tuned!
Was that an eagle in flight on an otherwise nondescript panel on Langston?
Falstaff Brewery has always amazed me. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching! I love making these videos! More to come!!
Baden Bank is beautiful!
Hard to imagine trees can start growing on the roof of the Spivey building! But they do!
would be GREATLY informative if you'd add the addresses/areas/neighborhoods of these buildings.
I agree. It is a pain to pause and google.
I love this series. However, they do make me sad. I am old enough to remember when these places were alive and well. The churches and schools especially because they remind how many families, communities, and how much energy there was in the city.
@@jamie49868 thank you, and sadly I have more videos of more locations to post soon.
@@jimlwolfe-empty-midwest I know there are many, many such places around STL. I city walk from north side to south side and all points in between. The number of closed/abandoned churches and schools is truly shocking to me no matter how often I encounter them. I can see the wealth and investment people made, now just rotting away. Have you done anything on the remnants in and around the old Mill Valley area?
@@jamie49868 Yes, it's sad for sure, I never realized how many places there are until I started doing the videos - I w contacted by someone at STL magazine doing a piece about all the closed schools and I'm sure that I have shot video of 20 or more schools. Not sure about the Old Mill Valley area, tell me more, where specifically is that?
@@jimlwolfe-empty-midwest Mill Creek Valley ran from Jefferson between Market and Locas St. down to 20th. I think it started out German but developed into THE Black area with people like Scott Joplin, Josephine Baker along with most notable black St Louisans of the early 20th century, and Harris Stowe College. There isn't much left but there is the abandoned Black Hospital, an old YWCA, and some other buildings I'm not quite sure what they were, and just north on Sam Shepard is a real cool abandoned art-deco police station with some pretty cool churches. Check with your friends at STL mag or the History Museum because I may be incorrect on a few details, but I think you could get a pretty cool episode out of it I dig your work. Peace
@@jamie49868 Thanks, I'll have a look!
All the Graffiti looks horrible & disgusting, whoever thinks that looks good is insane!
To each his own, art is ment to be interpreted, and it's different to all - I like it.
What a shame for our once iconic Missouri city
Blacks...... That and about 75 years of democratic government.
why not show some great old buildings that are still in use and look really good?
ummm, because that is not what my channel is about. It's call Empty Midwest. not cool old buildings.
Dang didn’t know that church on hogan St burned down.
Very unfortunate. Very, very unfortunate.
Did many photo shoots at the graffiti walls!, my sister went to Cleveland Jr ROTC love seeing the city I grew up in ❤
If only the roofs were kept up! Such beautiful buildings!
What a shame to allow that beautiful building to fall into disrepair. If the roof was replaced it would lead to far less damage.
From St. Louis Patina about the church - "By 1936, however, the congregation followed their members and the money west to the new suburbs going up in Central County, and it probably passed into the possession of the Jamison Memorial Church, which had been founded in 1917."
Thanks for the extra info, I keep forgetting to check that website when I create videos!
i went to club imperial in the 1950s...
Looks like st. louis didn't care much about this care center
I lived in aprox 1949 across the alley from St Liborius school where the fenced in rectangular grassy area is in this video.. 1841 MAIDEN LANE Old Old jackson school which was converted into 4 family flats...
Wow! 😂😂
Well, damn.
yes indeed!
😭
Agreed, lots of amazing buildings left to decay away.
It’s just sad that St. Louis has all those abandoned buildings and houses. St. Louis has a lot 🎉money to fix those problems or tear them down. Missouri needs to get it together fast
Looks enriched by diversity
All of this abandonement and dextruction is because of crime. These areas would still be thriving if the city had maintained ssfety and the infrastructure. Criminals and their enablers the Democrat party have destroyed our cities. Our ancestors were right, you’ve bought the lie.
Haven't been to baden in 30 yrs. Ohhh wow the memories how tragic is this.😔😔💔💔
Isnt these apts here were the old velvet freeze was located, went with my mom all the time how sad.
Great drone footage. Please keep posting more.
Hey, glad you liked it, thanks for watching and yes, I have plenty more locations I will add. Sadly there is no shortage of amazing old abandoned places in St. Louis, and all over the Midwest……stay tuned.
I love your drone videos. It's so terrible that these amazing STL buildings with such awesome architecture are just abandoned. Keep more coming.
Couldn't agree more! It’s so sad how they let all of this just crumble. I will have many more videos coming ….. stay tuned! Lots more locations in the works.
Once again no focus of building front just circirling of building from far. Confused about what to look at
Please spend time focusing if you have special needs sorry ijs
I got news for you, first, that spray paint is not your typical graffiti. The gray writing, the demonic faces, the old gray haired woman, the baby. That is very occult stuff based on the bible painted on a long concrete wall, next to a bridge. I'm no bridge for these spirits to enter into the land and cross over from their world into ours. I'm from the Midwest, I'm empty, I've got these spirits caught and trapped but I'm not the bridge, I'm the wall that has stopped them all. See that sand? That represents the seashore, just as the seashore keeps the sea out of the land I have kept these spirits from flooding into the earth. That's from the bible. Like the song kashmir my eyes have filled with sand, I am the shore keeping these sea spirits out of the land. Now you see all this brick? All these abandoned brick buildings all over St. Louis and every major city? I'm going to hire millions of Americans to go to work and take some of these buildings apart and save the lumber and brick. $20. an hour times 8 hours a day times a million jobs is 160 million per day times 250 work days, that's only 40 billion per year. We are going to clean up these American cities. We will barge this brick down the Mississippi river to central America, they need schools and building materials. Some buildings we will save and keep. Then we will rebuild new neighborhoods in our cities with new parks and newer more modern buildings. Billions and billions of bricks from 1800 through 1960. 160 years of brick making, sitting, waiting to be reborn into new buildings for the world. Millions of new jobs. Every major American city is the same. We are going to clean it up like the WPA program under Roosevelt in the 1930s. I am the baby, unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the Government will be upon his shoulder. I am the baby and the wall. I am taking over the money and will fund these projects without debt through grants. I am the gateway of the spirits, I am LA, the city of angels. St. Louis is my city. LLXIIX77
This is amazing!!!!
I’m realistic enough to know that ultimately buildings are just objects with a life cycle, like everything else. They serve a purpose, until they don’t. Can’t help but feel sadness to see Central High School in ruins. My school, class of 1956.
Great footage- great view.
Thanks, I like your videos as well!!
I attended Harrison school in the mid 1940s
My dad and aunt attended Harrison during the forties. They grew up across the street from Fairgrounds Park.
4:18 The cotton Belt Freight Depot is a great landmark and looks amazing from the bike trail north of the arch.
THE CARE CENTER COULD USE SOME MAJOR CARE
WHAT A SHAME!!!!!
i lived very close to krey meat packing plant... i can still smell that smell ... YUCK
Beautiful, I love these videos.
Thank you!! I will have more to upload in 2024!
Beautifully done.
Thank you very much! Ok will be uploading a new video this week, and many more to come after that!
I find beauty in all this
