Can these worms really eat plastic?? [Episode 1: Zero Waste Series]

Plastics are everywhere, and we can’t seem to get rid of them. Could a worm be the solution we need? Experts recently found the creatures also eat trash that can take 400 years to decompose often considered non-biodegradable. I hope plastic bricks is the beginning to better quality homes. In the US no homes are built to last, They are built to be torn down easy and not last more than 20 years yet they cost a life’s savings to get. If plastic bricks were cheaper than wood and steel poles it would make building cheaper and homes last longer. More sound privacy between rooms aswell.

    You would be able to make use of an exponentially larger amount of this material if you added it to Asphalt Paving and concrete constructions.

    Rhino machines 😂. Faulty machines and design. Their machines are a simple failure. I am the 1st person to buy their Spb machines. Not even a single day they functioned well. Every day something or the other issue. Their men came several times to fix the issue yet they couldn’t. From 2 years I am struggling every single day. Yet the machines didn’t function even a single day properly. They are very cunning and cheap people. Simply loot your money and don’t even respond later. They took money from me for insurance and did the insurance on their name and claimed the insurance even without telling me. Cheap n cunning people.they couldn’t fix their machines from 2 years yet they are dragging neither compensating me. I have to suffer every single day for their machines. Don’t even consider this company. If you still want to buy ask for previous customer feedback and then think of it

      Hi Jaro, Yes you are right it is possible, but as of now the demand for plastic items is so high and there are no good sustainable alternative to it. Hence the companies are busy filling this huge demand, but where as for brick the sector is highly competitive and has lots of sustainable alternatives so it's not lucrative for big companies to enter this segment. Thanks for showing interest in the topic ☺️

    I think glass bottles filled with dessert/sea sand can be used as bricks. I'm not sure if we can call a plastic bottle mixed with cement as eco friendly. It may become hard to recycle such form of plastic in future.

    I like the way you guys think and it is very cool to see that so many people at least try to change the world for the better! Thanks for that! Have you ever considered to use inorganic/mineral polymers in your bricks? Geopolymers (a aluminosilicat) can be made by utilizing large quantities of industrial waste and they have a chemical composition close to the one from glass plus the same covalent bonds. After mixing the ingredients, one can observe a cement like geopolymer slurry which can be molded and mixed with all kinds of fillers (plastic, sand, gravel, fibres ). 24 hours later they are rock solid. The basic fly ash-geopolymer formulation is: 4 g class-f fly ash 1 g sodium waterglass solution 0.2 g NaOH plus 0.2 g water Of course it is more complicated than that and only people with laboratory experience, who know what they are doing, should give this formulation a shot. Keep up the good work!

      Yes! I work with geopolymer (mineral cement-like recycled binders) (see the Wikipedia page of geopolymers for more information, but look up the English one, never the German). And, yeah, I feel with proper technique, there must be a way to use dessert sand. I try to get my hands on some. But the next dessert is couple thousands miles away from my place (Bavaria). But thanks to global warming, that might change soon.

    this is not a solution! let the carbon from the plastic recycle to the air via burning and plant more trees so the carbon gets absorbed back to earth! all the above process the carbon is not in a organic decomposing form! so its useless and poisonous to the soil

    • @InfoMatter
      @InfoMatter 3 роки тому

      Thank you for so keenly watching the video to make observations. Yes you are right it does emit CO2 while melting, but there is a difference between melting plastic in controlled environment fitted with smoke filter towers and CO2 scrubbers as compare to burning it in open. The cardon recovered from the filter is again used to make bricks to reduce overall carbon footprint.
