I hold these truths to be self evident: anyone can be a great cook. Always change a recipe juuuuuust a little bit because doing what you're told is dumb. The proper amount of garlic is - minimum - 3x what's suggested. The only way to know if it'll work is to try it. She who cooks shouldn't have to do the dishes.
But the most important truth of all? Cooking should be fun. And I'm here to help.

Snowflake Bread: I used this recipe as a guide, but did not add the butterscotch drizzle, and amended the spices to be: 1T cinnamon + 2tsp cardamom + a big pinch of salt

Lemon Rosemary Scones: I used this recipe as a guide, but used 1/4C of sugar. I also added 1T finely chopped fresh rosemary and 1 lemon (juiced and zested) into the milk and let it steep for a few minutes to infuse. I made a mini version of these scones, dividing the dough in half and pressing out into a disc that was 1/2 inch thick, then cutting each disc into 8 wedges.

I CAN’T STAND IT!!!! It is absolutely gorgeous and charming and you were absolutely adorable making it. You looked SO happy and proud of yourself, as you should. There's no recipe online!! I did a search for & found an archive of the program Martha Does it All or something which referred to the turkey portion as "Next, she prepares an unusual turkey that is draped in decorative puff pastry and glazed with an eggs and cream mixture before being browned in the oven." & The Cranberry Cassis? "Back at home, she prepares a cranberry cassis beverage with sugar and white wine, then allowing it to chill for three weeks before serving." So guess that's off the table for NYE 😂
😂 I can confirm that the unusual turkey is NOT worth making but I’m going to try that three week cordial some day. I bet my moonshiner family from West Virginia has a recipe 😂

The apples were surprising, what are their purpose? I’m kind of curious now lol.
@@GoldenAngelX5 They just sweeten things up eeeeeeever so slightly! You’d never be able to tell that there were apples in the final dish (it cooks for like an hour so they mostly meld into the background), but I try to balance salty / sweet / bitter / etc in everything I make and this one needed a touch of sweet! I think it’s similar to how some folks add sugar to a tomato sauce - doesn’t make any sense on paper but then you see how it provides balance and ya never go back. Unless you’re Italian in which case this comment will probably get me cancelled in Italy 😂
Right I'm 14,but I love.. LOVE making sweets for my family, and everytime I try to melt chocolate... It ends up burned or not melted... So TYSM for this tip 🫂
@@ImNotAbby. I’m so glad it was helpful!! Have you tried using a double boiler? That’s another way and easy to setup with a heatproof bowl on top of a pan with a bit of simmering water. The steam heats the bowl, which heats the chocolate in the bowl very gently. You have to be careful not to burn yourself but chocolate loves melting that way 😊 Keep me posted on your cooking adventures, I love meeting fellow cooks! 💛

Why peel them? That's throwing away most nutrients, fibre and flavour. Just wash and chop.

What an interesting taste profile, adding the almond’s and peas. The Gruyère pulls it all together.

I use a pepper grinder, kept next to my salt cellar by the stove, and buy peppercorns because I find pepper loses flavor in its ground form too quickly.
