Heard this last night and was fairly sure it was a fox. Even though I knew, still quite frightening.

One day i heard this sound around 4am . I jumped out of my bed and went to my parents room they also heard this sound . We thought something happened to our neighbour. We got scared and checked all around outside but nothing happened🫡. Then later found out it was fox.

There's bound to be a camper with a UA-cam channel out there, recording a video with the title, "WHAT is that?! I BAILED." 😅

I can see why early settlers would think there were monsters or demons roaming the woods at night with sounds like this.

I just heard this outside my house opened my door and my cat was ready to come in. Safe to say it was a close call. There’s been a fox around the house this year. The last few years we had a bunch but everyone ran them over bc our road is so narrow and windy. I’m glad they are back I just don’t want them to eat my cat.

I know what a vixen sounds like, despite this the horrific sound I heard outside just now - very like this - had me convinced I'd not shut all my chickens away and a fox had got a hen. Sheesh, brown trousers moment. Thinking a cat probably had a standoff with the fox.

Yeah in Ireland when people walked a lot of places, sometimes at night, we'd have many stories of banshees - animals can sound really eerie making sounds like this at night LOL

I had a nightmare this night and since its summer i sleep with my windows open, and right when i woke up from my dream i hear 2 screams like this😢 i was terrified, it sounded like a lady getting attacked or something. I hope it was just a fox since i live in an area with woods

Heard that one night as a child growing up in Glasgow. Got up and looked out my bedroom window to see what it was and it wasn't two foxes it was the local gang members stabbing somebody. Still gives me nightmares when I hear that and I'm 55 now.

I heard this sound for the first time ever a few nights ago and it's happened every night, I thought it was my rabbits screaming, it scared the hell out of me, I thought a mouse had got into their hutch and was attacking them or something! I don't know if this has reassured me or made me more anxious about the safety of my rabbits 😫

I've only really ever heard noises like those from a fennec.

I live in Australia and I heard this at 5am and I ran outside thinking a dog had been hit by a car but no it was just a vixen calling out for a man fox lol

It was 1:30AM. The forest went silent as this bloody curdling screeching drew closer and thus louder to my house with every half minute that went by. I frantically scanned the night, the screeching was right outside my bedroom window. But I could not make sense of what I was seeing. The screeching stopped as the beast vanished into the treeline. The forest crickets began to chrip again as if nothing happened. Let's just say I stopped taking the trash out after dark.

I heard this when I was walking near some woods. I heard about 50 meters from me and it was only a single scream. Never ran harder in my life. I later found out it was a fox.
