      Hello, honestly I don't remember :( is a custom theme I made in the past for a vision problem I have and I don't remember exactly. btw I explained how to modify the 3D viewport, if it helps, here is a copy from another comment Hello, it is very easy, first you need to enable Cavity using world type, then tweak the options. Cavity is located into the viewport shading menu on top right, besides xray view and wire frame, using the arrow ⬇ For background, there is a gradient with 2 colors to mimic vignette, you can modify those colors in Edit, preferences, Themes, 3D viewport, at the end of the menu Theme Space, Gradient Colors, and there you can change it :)

    Would you bake lighting for rock that can be placed in different rotations? I've made one and idk if I should keep lighting on, or maybe make different versions with the same model

    • @agustin_honnun
      @agustin_honnun Місяць тому

      Hello. This method works fine for it since lighting isn't to make it look illuminated, it is more like an artistic way to do some parts pop out more. If you bake the light from top view center to the bottom you shouldn't have too much lighting on sides, and it won't affect that much for rotation variations. Btw this method works fine for pbr workflow, but to make the texture more like handpainted unlit, then lighting should be strategically placed since there are no light interactions

    • @kiisanalt
      @kiisanalt Місяць тому

      @@agustin_honnun Well, after some testing, I figured with pbr workflow it looks good without baked lighting, but for things like seamless rock texture I just put light straight from top and it just added that umph. Also, great video I've learned so much, thanks!

    I'm new to pt and i just managed to understand uv unvrapping, but your model looks very smooth even if its kind of low poly, the video is very fast so i cant tell, do you have a shade smooth applied? Also after you sculpted did you unvrap the uv again? I don't know how you managed to model it to look so smooth, looks great

    I get error when trying to bake in substance, normal map and curvature map wont bake. "High poly scene was required when baking"

    • @agustin_honnun
      @agustin_honnun Місяць тому

      Hello, that problem usually appears when the suffixes from blender, low and high, doesnt match each other with Substance suffixes, make sure you type the same suffixes in Blender and Substance Painter in the main baking page

    • @agustin_honnun
      @agustin_honnun Місяць тому

      Another thing that can happen there is when the geometry or poly count of the high poly model is too high and your pc can't handle it, may not be this case, but if it is, usually Painter crashes after trying to bake. To solve this, you should divide your model by parts (This is explained in my most recent video Baking a stylized weapon from blender to substance painter) Or, decreasing the poly count of the high poly using the decimate modifier, so Substance can load and keep the baking process with no errors.

      I'm glad you liked it :D Unfortunately, I don't 😕, usually, I only upload speed modeling videos. My latest one is a full tutorial, not about a tree. But the same process

    Spoiler alert: absolute 3D modelling noob over here, pls have mercy... I'm really just tryna understand the process from the first basic 3D models to the fully textured and painted piece - I'm mind-blown on how difficult the process is (and how absolutely stunning the results are :o). If I understand it correctly, you first made a basic (kinda low-poly?) mesh of everything and then remesh it to create like a billion more vertices so u can better sculpt in the details. But what happens after that? In the video, I saw u using the "decimate" modifier, which, again, if i understand it correctly, deletes vertices and makes it an easier mesh so u can UV unwrap better. But when (and how) does the high poly mesh come back? How does the texture mapping or painting then work? Do you use the high-poly or low-poly mesh in the very end (cos like aren't like high-poly meshes gna break the PC if you have too many of them)? Also, I've seen some people not sculpt in the details, but "fake" them by painting them with different maps like bumps and roughness. Isn't this process easier? Just genuinely interested in the 3D modelling process, I really admire artists like you!

      Hello, you understood good, just the high poly is used, after sculpting, only in substance painter or any other baking software, you can search more about PBR baking in there. You need to make the high poly or detailed model then make a copy and make it low poly, keeping the name of each piece similar in both versions but change the suffix to something like _high and _low for low one, so the baking software can understand where to apply the high poly details into the lowpoly piece. But yeah, in the end you use only the low one because the high is only used to project the details over the low

      About the other process painting the in maps, yes usually both are used in the same workflow, it will always depends on the details you want to achieve, if you cannot manually sculpt very perfect and sharp details, but sculpt like broken parts. Then in substance you can add a texture or something over there and use height map to simulate de details without needed sculpture there. There are many methods you need to find the easier for you

    Beautiful! I see you have each rock as separate objects while you work, how do you seemlessly swap sculpting between each rock without affecting the surrounding rocks? The footage is so quick, I don't see you going into object mode to select a different rock to then going back to sculpt mode. Is there a hotkey for that?

      Hello, I have a shortcut for it with ALT Q because I use older shortcuts, but here you can see how to use it ua-cam.com/video/L5Oa3SLt6cA/v-deo.htmlsi=AA1E1nELeRDhgLwX
