    does the sig optics backup rear sight line up with the front sight well?

    • @MoneyShot_CM
      @MoneyShot_CM 16 годин тому

      Yeah it does, it was on of the reasons I choose it, so I didn't lose the rear optic. That said, I never use it to shoot, I'm not sure how accurate it is at range, never tested being self defense distances. Since then I've stopped trying to get co-witnesses that are accurate, I feel point and shoot is enough. Most times now I just get rid of the iron sights if that's an option. I ended up building two 2011s and during the testing of those guns I didn't have any sights on them and I could shoot accurately with them, so I built them with not having any irons. I know that's not for everybody though.

      Yeah I agree. I got a buddy that has one, there's a short video on my channel showing it in slow motion, but I'll be putting out a longer more in depth one when I get a chance, he'll let me borrow it. It was going to be on my list to get next, but honestly I built a 5.4 -inch comp gun that shoots softer than anything I've ever shot so I don't really need to spend the money on it right now, maybe someday. Don't get me wrong I'm not a master gun builder or something it's just sheer physics the length and the weight of it makes it awesome. I do love that bull attack Pro. I would likely get the four and a quarter so I can carry it

      @MoneyShot_CM 9 днів тому

      I don't think that extended safety is that wide to cause enough trouble with any holster, it's all the way at the back of the gun and going to be pretty high up on the sweatguard, you could easily fix it with a heat gun, I doubt you would even have to fix it I think the extended safety would just bend the kydex a little. All the holsters that I use for the s2c are ones that I made because I had a slide stop thumbrest that was wide as hell. It's funny one of the ones I made I now use for my ex macro because I run the same light and it works perfectly lol.

    I just picked up my mac 9 for $867 with taxes and shipping and all. It has the new optic plate with higher iron sights in rear, so you can co-witness. I've noticed its nearly impossible to reassemble the slide to the frame on mine as the (extractor spring plunger thing? im not sure what it is called) blocks the slide stop from seating in position unless you can hold the plunger in with a small piece of metal and slide it in. My slide also catches pretty solidly trying to slide it back, I guess its catching on extractor? This is my first 1911 so I am trying to figure it all out.

    • @MoneyShot_CM
      @MoneyShot_CM Місяць тому

      1st , congrats on the purchase, that's a great price! When I wake up more I'll reread this and try to understand it better, you have some terminology mixed up, it's hard to picture. If I can help/advise you I will.

    • @MoneyShot_CM
      @MoneyShot_CM Місяць тому

      So now I'm a little bit more awake, and after reading what you wrote I think I know what you're talking about. If you're talking about the plunger tube that has a little metal piece that interacts with the slide stop as well as another little another piece into that interacts with the safety, those can be kind of stiff. If a slide stop a very tight fit stacked on top of that strong spring it can be a little hard to push in. Are you pinning the slide back where you have no spring tension so you can move the slide into the proper area easily? On the second part I hope it's not the extractor that's causing your slide to be sluggish or get stuck, a lot of times It's the disconnector. It's common on some production guns. Have you shot the gun yet? If it is the disconnector this will break in over time you can also break it in by just racking the slide back and forth throwing some oil on it. As far as the slide stop issue that will break in over time too. Now the slide is getting hung up on the ejector, that could break itself in as well but I think that's less likely of an issue. Something like that you may need to get looked at

    Popped up in my feed. Thanks for the data point. I own a Tisas single stack. The characteristic I think you know, the barrel movement at the hood is a sign of improper fitting of the barrel legs. IDK throwing a link on is the solution. I sent mine back over a short list of things. Got it back with a new barrel. I have a test target too. Ha! I would consider sending it back if the accuracy suffers. Tisas Customer Service is Excellent. They have a process and do what they say they will do. I was quoted 30 days from being received. What do you know, 28 days later returned fixed. I like that co-witness. I'm not a real fan of co-witness. It seems to be a thing for some.

    • @MoneyShot_CM
      @MoneyShot_CM Місяць тому

      When the gun arrived, everything was tight over a course of 1300 rounds I think is when that barrel started loosening up a little bit. Since then I have not really examined the lugs or the link, another user pointed out that maybe an oversized slide stop would help. Right now it doesn't affect the accuracy one bit so it's not really an issue, if it gets worse I'll probably dive in and just fix it myself. I doubt they're going to want a warranty a gun that I've done so much work on. I don't really care about the warranty on these things unless it's something serious like a slide breaking in half or some silly shit like that. I think if it comes down to it and I ever had to replace the barrel I would just do it myself and grab a threaded barrel.

      The plate came with the gun. They're supposed to be offering more plates this summer. When you put an RMR on a 1911/2011 slide you always need a plate because the slide is so skinny. There's a few manufacturers who have gotten around this by widening the slide in their manufacturing process in the area where the screws go, like stealth arms and I forget the others. My dwx has a slide that's wide enough for a direct mount RMR cut just to give you an example and it's close to a 2011

      @@MoneyShot_CM So I called Cajun gun works, and they were all in on me getting a S2 compact instead of the DWX-C for a few reasons. I’m so glad I didn’t listen to them. I think it would have been somewhat redundant, given that I have the cajunized p01. The DWX-c (as you know) is just a different animal. Combining the ergos of the CZ75 with the 1911 somehow just works and makes for a flatter shooting, more accurate out of the box pistol than the p01. It makes no sense based on physics and bore axis, but yet it’s true- contrary to what the guys at Cajun gun works said. From most people who either own or have shot both- they seem to agree the DWX-C is the better shooting gun than the S2C

      @SigAXG320 I think you made the absolute correct decision. I don't regret my s2c, it's great. I didn't buy the DWX compact at first because of no rail and optic plate. I'm not shy to have something milled for an optic, I got one of the first dwx's. But I really wanted a rail.

    I have Atlas, Nighthawk, Hayes, Staccato, and so on. These Turkish pistols are not designed to compete with high-end guns. I would check and see if the internals are forged or MIM. If MIM, change to EGW internals. The EGW will stay in spec forever. Tisas (MAC) uses forged internals, a nod to the quality Americans demand. You could always stipple the grip and make it better. It is difficult to go from a 1 or 2-lb competition trigger to a 6-pound trigger. I bought the Girsan Negotiator and changed a few things, and it is solid. It's nice to shoot and fun. These are production guns built in the US by a Turkish company (Tisas). My Hayes is a $5300 2011 handbuilt and fits with the best materials available. You can tell the differences in every way, and I can do a 1MOA group at 10 yards. I would recommend these "2011s" to anyone because the price allows anyone to own one.

    • @MoneyShot_CM
      @MoneyShot_CM 2 місяці тому

      Yeah it's definitely not like my staccato, my Wilson Combat or the custom 2011 that I built but it's fun. I hand fit every part on the custom, and only used the best parts, just getting ready to go out and get some DLC. It's a commander, next one will be a comped 5 inch. No MiM parts in the Mac, not sure about the Tisas version. I use EGW and Harrison design ignition systems in my other guns, but there is no reason to swap out the ignition system on this unless you just want to, or it wears out. . I think the stock trigger was 4 and 1/2 or 5 lb on mine, I hear they vary widely. A quick adjustment took it down near 3lb. Hammer and sear engagement and angles are great, it's got a firm wall and a crisp break. It's a nice aluminum trigger unlike my staccato's plastic trigger though LOL . It's definitely not meant to compete with those guns you're talking about LOL, you can pick one of these up for less than $900 now. I think it's a great gateway Gun to get people into 2011s. I personally have never tried any stippling myself, The villain grip from MJD I have on this is just about perfect to me. I don't really like nonmetal grips, but it's a combination of Kevlar carbon fiber and nylon so it feels a little bit more like g10 than plastic. Stock grip was absolute shit I think I've seen some people stipple them but to me it still feels cheap. I think I got 1300 in the gun with the grip in the springs, it's a great shooter... So far. We'll see how it lasts, will definitely have to reevaluate it after 5,000 rounds lol. Never shot one of the Girsans but I've seen a lot of people talking about issues with those, too much for me.

    RE: the Prodigy "If you could get it for the same price as this, it might be a different story." Add up the parts. $1000 gun, $380 grip + springs. Assuming you're going with the same optic, you are paying less for the Prodigy.

      Actually These go for 840 right now, grip was 318. Springs 8 bucks. That's 1166. Cheapest I've seen The prodigy is 1,200 bucks right now. But that is close enough. I would never take the prodigy with a stock grip over this gun with an MJD villain. The villain is just too good. Now let's say that this was the same exact price with no upgrades at all I would probably take The prodigy because it's american-made. When I bought mine it was $1099 And The prodigies were running 1300. I didn't want a prodigy at the time because I'd shot a couple of them and they were not very good. But those have been modified by other people and they weren't stock. I ended up shooting a stock one later and it was pretty good.

      Watch some extractor tuning videos, they are pretty easy to tune. You will have to remove the firing pin stop and the firing pin and then the extractor and give it a little bend to change the tension. If you watch one of the videos it will tell you which way you need to go after testing it.
