This is a filmstrip that Ford provided to the Ford dealers in the fall of 1968 so the floor sales people would have all the knowledge they needed to "move the metal" in 1969!
1977 Lincoln Town Coupe Driving

My Lincoln going for it’s first drive of the season
We had a new red 1969 Galaxie 500 convertible on our lot for almost a year. I don't what the problem selling it was, but I think they had to practically give it away to move it.
I had a 69 stripy Ford Custom 240,3 speed am radio, and heater, just a solid durable smooth riding roomy car. The 240 had good power great gas mileage, and smooth as a mill pond. I was not fully in love with the instrument panel, the location of the radio for example, and the ignition switch along with the ash tray, overall it was a great car, like a lot of people have said I wish I still had that car.
Beautiful styling...wonderful cars...❤ ( as a kid we had a neighbor who drove several LTD's )
beautiful cars what real cars look like
They should have made a formal roof 2dr. hardtop.
My Grandfather had an awesome 1974 Ford Galaxie 500 2-door, I miss that car!!!
Gee.. Measures in '69 for side impact protection and impact crumple zones! And here Mercedes bragged about that in the late 70s as if they invented it.
Yep, very true, and I think Volvo as well.
Sounds like Robert Stack doing the talking..
Ford seemed to change the sedans every year back then. We had a 70 custom cop car. Only option was power steering.
BIG FORD! Was a great car, until me and my Brother Wrecked it really bad! Head on! My head hit the windshield!
No mention of the 1970 Ford XL 2-door convertible model!
I guess they figured it sells itself! 😎
Flimstrip! Wow.. "A typical two year Ford trade-in..."
Nice. My first car was a 1970 Galaxy 500 4 door with 351W and the turbine-style hubcaps. The car only had one downside...4 wheel, manual drum brakes. The thing was a BEAST to stop hard from speed.
Also have a 69 XL 429/4bbl wide ratio 4spd bucket seats consol shifter
I have a 70 XL 429/2bbl C6 bucket seats with the console shifter.
Thanks for posting, I had one.
Yes most definitely my GrandMa had a new 69 LTD 4 door pillard deluxe baby blue white vinyl roof black pin stripe and all black vinyl & smooth silk like nylon seat fabric material The 69 & 70 full size Fords were Fords very best & finest works of art ever they should have been produced threw the 71 & 72 model years and maybe the 73& 74 model years they were some of Fords finest work ever for the LTD car line ever if anyone from Ford motor company is reading this please bring back the LTD line of full size car line up why they went a separate way for 71 & 72 now I will say the 71s & 72s are unique they don’t elevate my mood the way the 69 & 70s do thank you Ladies & Gentlemen for your time reading my opinions
lol look at my page🔥🤣🤣ltd spits flames
I HAVE A 4 DOOR HARDTOP
Hey I met you at the car wash about a year ago... still got the pictures. That thing was sweet! Did you ever get the rust fixed?
I never understood why the radio was placed to the left if the steering column instead of to the right!
the entire dash was built this way for ease of use for the driver
Yes indeed the driver was truly treated well & respected For 69 & 70 the radio in his / her reach only was excellent and 71 / 72 the HVAC controls in grasp of the driver only I don’t understand why anyone but the driver should be able to put their Paws on any controls
@@georgewilson1184 My first car was a 1970 Galaxie 500 and I loved having the radio on the left. Nobody else could jack with the radio!!
My teenage car was a 1970 LTD Brougham with the 429-4B. It was a great car that really drove nice. The power in the 429 was really underrated. This car could get to 100mph very easy and stay there all day.
Which body style was yours?
@@vacuumbed1 4 door Brougham
I had a 70 LTD 4 door hardtop Brougham back in the late 80’s. It was green with black interior, and had the 429-4V vin code N. It also had power windows, locks, and seat. I really miss that car.
Thanks bro I have a 1970 Ford XL and I always search up videos of my car but they’re aren’t many out there
@@tramr3203 nice sounds like a ride lol, I’m putting an elder rock kit that’s will make my 390 Fe 418 hp supposedly. Hopefully everything goes good for auction. What do you think a 1970 XL can do at Barrett Jackson auction? Like what price would it be for aluminum heads and intake with efi, coil overs? Cause that’s what I’m doing also with custom engine bay. What do you think it would sell for?
@@tramr3203 okay then nice info man, a lot of cars are selling high but I’ve never seen my car in auction was just wondering, thanks though
Thank you!!! Great video!!
You are most welcome!
Groovy slide presentation! Thanks so much for posting it!!
Wow!! Great!!! Thank you very much!!!
Thank you! You are uploading some great videos. Do you have any on the station wagons?
Thanks, glad you like them. Yes I do have at least one on 1969 wagons and I’ll try post tomorrow - stay tuned!
@@johnmccarthy2268 Thank you! I appreciate it. This is the car we had when I was a child and I really loved it. It was a 1970 Country Sedan, 351, automatic. I loved to travel in the supplementary seats ;)
Thanks for uploading this groovy film strip! It makes me want to rush out to my Ford dealer and order a new 1969 Ford! I like how the strip ends with the 1969 "Going Thing" theme music.
