Sometimes when traveling the world, you must stay in a "local" accommodation. For me that is part of the experience. Japanese traditionally sleep on the floor and their buildings typically have thin walls. That doesn't mean it is a bad hotel, just a traditional Japanese hotel. Glad you were able to find a western hotel where you found accommodations similar to back home.

I bought the 28L version to meet that Personal item requirement, and let me tell ya this bag has changed my life. I can literally pack everything I need for an entire week, Seriously!! I've ditched the carry-on all together in favor of the Allpa 28L and have been perfectly fine. The fact that it opens like a suitcase, helps me see everything all at once and stay super organized on the go, I love it!!
