Metal blade vs String trimmer: Which will give you the cleanest most crisp edge? For me, the metal blade is great for establishing edges on overgrown neglected properties. However, when it comes to maintaining that edge, there is no match for a steady hand and a powerful string trimmer. See for yourself. Tell me what you think in the comments. Thanks so much... !!! I appreciated help me a lot !!! I am not a landscaped business I am home owner ... but help me a lot !!! All The Best !!! continue with your successful business !!!
I think they should make some full metal head that last long
Excellent tutorial, a thousand thanks.
Wish I could use it on my Stihl FS 40C but it does not work.
My only issue is this…. Bumping mine doesn’t give me more line like it’s supposed to. Mine just gets shorter when I’m cutting until I have to open it and refeed. I’m installing everything correctly but it doesn’t give me more line
thanks for the tip
soak your trimmer line in bucket of water overnight just like new
Put the green adapter in the white adapter piece and you'll not need the round adapter with the 1" hole in it.
I've been loading my spool wrong for decades..... thank you so much man. And Echo, stop getting free advertisement and pay this man, he's help making your merchandise sell......Just Saying.
Thanks man
Is this the same with a craftsman back pack blower?
Bummer, all I wanted to do is load a new line, Not take the hold head off.
Hell yeah brother, I’m going to install one of these on my Stihl.
Thank you for the review helps a lot
Put old string in water to rehydrate it @7:00 Also put a 3/8 bolt in the bump head to extend the life of bump head (need to drill a hole)
Thanks for the help I’ve always had issues with some of the things that you showed me today can’t wait to try them
Good video. I have the Kombi unit edger. Even with a new blade and head adjusted for maximum depth, I have to hold the engine up by my head (I am 5’ 6”). Are there shorter shafts for short people? Any ideas?
When ur string get hard and brittle soak it in hot water and revive it
Can i open the gear head and grease the gear head if no grease port is provided on the echo Trimmer Model # SRM225
I just bought one and saw it held about 20 feet. I grabbed a tape measure and measured my wing span. I thought I was so smart knowing I only needed about for wingspan lengths of line 😂
Thank you i got mine on with your help
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing. My repair went perfectly!!
Thanks for the video now I can fix mine
Jay thank you for the video. Please help me to find where I can buy that green piece. I think you said FS-111?
Did you mention left and right marks on the spool? OK thankfully I can see the tooth direction in the video.
Thank you just now learning how to even use a weed eater. Super helpful for assembly!
Love the video! Do you know if this is compatible with my craftsman 316790101?
How long will it take omg
Very helpful. Thanks
Perfect video for installing this head especially for my Stihl trimmer. Those instructions that came with the head were useless. Thank you!
Heads up my friend. Drill a hole in the center and put a 5/16 bolt through from the outside and put a lock nut on the inside. That bolt head will last a very very long time. Saves your speed head.
Perfect video! Us it all the time!
So I watrched the "Echo" youtube video, and a few others. They act like we all do this day in and day out and have a ton of experience. This man showed it like this was our first time. And of course it's our first time. Why the heck would we be watching this if we knew what we were doing. This was good and covered everything. Echo should pay you. This is better than anything I watched on their tutorials.
Best tutorial I have seen on UA-cam. This helped me out.
A video like this only needed 2 things ... 1. put screwdriver in hole 2. Mention that screw is reverse threaded. This video should have been 30 seconds max.
@@orion7873 your comment should have been 0 characters max.
Crappy video ...
What kind of line do you use? I new on this thing, Thanks
I love how, at 11:16, when you were describing cutting the weeds, you were also singing the blues a little bit. That's what I call enjoying your work.
THANKS JAY!!!!!!
Thank you very much. Much appreciated.
good video. thanks for sharing. Add a bolt and nut on the cover, it will save your head
Too much yakking- show us how to change the line already!
I’m in Ft worth need to come by and have you help me with my echo weed eater. Trying to switch mine
Because of this video I bought 1 4 my business I love it
Excellent video and explanation really helped me understand how to use much thanks
thanks for this video; my crummy dewalt head broke on first use; restringing did no good, so went out and bought the Echo. Your video was fantastically clear so far as installation, use of adapters etc.
“All my life ive had to fight” Thanks man was vey insightful.
Great...took my trimmer head off and after putting it back...guess I left a part out..well @ 75 I forget some stuff..watched the head take apart..low and behold there was the part (the part which had line on it that you removed). My SRM-225 manual showed nothing..nor did the online version. So Jay thanks for being a professional in your trimmer vid...you beat out Echo... hahahahahaha!
LOl you completely blocked the shot
I like your work Ethic!!! I am motivating people to get in the trades on the daily. Yes,landscaping is a trade peckerhead! Jeez, there’s one on every thread… Anyhow Jay, Your a bad dude and a very good communicator/teacher. I hope you have youngsters working for you.
