    I have the 125 lb reppins. I love them. They're super easy to use. I've had to drop them at heavy weights only a few times but they've held up with absolutely no damage. Yes they will get jammed at times and the rattle is somewhat annoying but if you're hittin some hard sets the rattle is basically unnoticeable. The pins coming out has never happened for me. I don't have really big hands but if you're mindful of it I can't see it happened much. These are without a doubt the best option on the market imo. Great review though. for people who are very picky all the points you brought up are valid and worth saying.

      I love mine too. The selector pin popped on me and a plate fell off - ONCE. Luckily, I was doing curls, not presses. I am just more careful now.

    I got some used powerblocks with some extra handles to reduce the changing times, love them. I would say it is more of a budget thing these days - agree the Rep ones seem to be the best. If you need heavy weight (over 100) these make even more sense due to the lack of competition (ironmasters and loadable are slow, and commercial power blocks cost this much or more). If you are doing 90 or less pounds, tons of options so hard to say. I will say this, in the last 3-4 months since these became more readily availability - powerblock prices have come down so it is definitely impacting the market.

    • @DesignBuildLift

    Have you tried supine pullovers ( with you arms moving the weight) on this machine?.. how well does that work? Would love to see a video?

    • @DesignBuildLift
      @DesignBuildLift День тому

      Just tried it. It did not work too well. Since the Leg roller moves in a fixed arc path - the only way it would work would be if the leg roller actually rolled (which it doesn't do very well). This rolling action would allow the leg roller pad to roll up and down your arm as you perform the exercise. In other words, if the leg roller rolled better - it could work.

    Btw, curious as to why you ddnt upgrade for the ares 2.0? I recently purchased mine during Black Friday and picked it up in Cali showroom. I also watched your guide video for the ares before purchasing one. I chose the 4 post army green uprights, blackwing, Colorado bar. I got the utility seat too but never use it and their chains. Planning to do belt squats with it but haven’t tried yet.

    • @DesignBuildLift
      @DesignBuildLift 2 дні тому

      I would love to upgrade to the Ares 2.0, but I like the 1.0 enough where I can’t justify dropping another almost $3K. Could I sell the 1.0 to make up some of the cost? Sure. But not without taking a bath on the loss. I have an 80” PR5000 so finding another person with a 80” PR5000 in the St Louis area who wants to buy an Ares 1.0 (at a fair price) would be tough to find. Maybe one day🤘

    There’s another con of the Reppins, when you drop that to your rubber flooring and the weight is heavy, it’ll damage your flooring, due to the sharp edges of it. Wish they made it round. The cage design sucks too

    • @DesignBuildLift
      @DesignBuildLift 3 дні тому

      The cage definitely takes some getting used to. I will keep an eye out for damage to my flooring. 🤘🙏💪

      @ I use Nordictrack the 55lb adjustable dumbells. The knurling is meh but atleast is round and doesn’t have a cage design. Also it doesn’t rattle much like the Reppins and doesn’t have the pin issue. I really like it and might not change at all unless i become stronger and need 80lbs or more. But I don’t see that happening as I just want to lift without injuring myself and I like more reps to give me cuts

    Yoo habaneropapi here the guy that made the original post about my knuckle catching onto the pin and unlocking it mid lift and the adder weight falling out and smashing my face and almost everyone over in the r/homegym subreddit hates me for it. Love your review very nice editing very useful information. Somethings I didn't even think of. I actually fixed the major concern of the magnetic pin unlocking mid lift and I posted a tutorial within my rep pepin review video check it out. Good to see I'm not the only one dealing with this. Also I think i may have found a solution to your weight loss plate jamming. You can loosen up the brackets that hold the dumbells. You do this buy simply loosening the bolt that hold the bracket onto the bottom-left plate without fully taking the bolt out you push against the the bracket to widen it just a bit and tighten the bolt down. That should be give you slightly more wiggle room so that the plates don't get jammed. Keep up the good work!!

    Been searching around for something like this. I have a full range of hex dumbbells and a high low machine. This bench would compliment my gear nicely, allowing for some solid leg work. My only hesitation is the attachment itself, does it detach from the bench? As I’m thinking it looks very awkward and might potentially get in the way when kicking dumbbells up for bench pressing

    • @DesignBuildLift
      @DesignBuildLift 4 дні тому

    For me the combination of ironmasters and Trulaps does the trick. I use the small and fast to adjust increments of the trulaps at the smaller weight range and the robustness and safety of the ironmasters at the higher weight range (where I don't change the weight so often - one heavy set, done). I don't like the cage-cesign of Reppins or Powerblocks too much.

      The reason I bought the Reppins was because the 90 LBS limitation of my Elite EXP Powerblocks just wasn’t enough for me, and I didn’t want the slowness of Ironmasters, or the gigantic size of the urethaned Pro Series Powerblocks. The Reppins are overhyped to some degree, but I definitely think they are a fantastic product: 125 LBS, fast adjustments, compact, durable, and very cool looking.

    Alot of people are looking for options for leg curl/ extension combo with a consistence resistance and this has been the closest machine to what most people are looking for. Now all we need is a better construction/ quality. Need something for sub 600-1000 price range.

      I would love a 11 gauge steel option of this design. Willing to pay more for that. If they could do that for the price range you mentioned- that would be awesome!

    Ok I have to ask your opinion. Im ready to purchase a functional trainer with a smith machine. Im looking for good quality, good price range really nothing over 2500.00. Im looking for a smith machine that offers a wide stretch for a cable crossover and smooth pulleys. Ive looked for quit a long time and it is getting over whelming. Ive been looking at ritkeep, major fitness B52, and they both gave good customer service Any recommendations??

    Finally someone with an 80" doing videos. Hard to find so this was really valuable, even though it was on the 1.0.

    Can you buy either option? Or is the 2.0 just the new design?

    • @DesignBuildLift
      @DesignBuildLift 7 днів тому

      If you buy from the RitFit website I think you can only get the 2.0 version. However, if you buy from Amazon you can get either option. RitFit Website: bit.ly/DBL-RITFIT-M1V2 --Or via AMAZON (Version 2.0 is called the "PRO" Model on Amazon): amzn.to/3Xq16b1
