Wrong wrong wrong
Very helpful video. I do wish you had discussed tension more thoroughly though. I have had two horses who had amputated tails from previous owners wrapping tails too tight, so this must be pretty common.
Ty I learnt a lot and now I’m a pro at ghem
"Sacrificial lamb"???😳
These are really good tips
Excuse me miss! We need updates!!!
Not saying right or wrong but I grew up with racehorses and rodeo horses and so I have wrapped a lot of horses. Do the math but I could have easily placed 20 sets a day for 10 years = 292,000 legs wrapped. You could probably double that number as I am fifty now. I always went around the bottom twice. The reason is if they over reach or hit theirselves there is just that extra padding there. So two reasons for polos were support and cushion because you don't want your horses when they feel as good as they do to hurt themselves playing and such and it wouldn't take much to have to scratch your horse from a race because he was goofing off while you were bathing him the morning of the race.
Cool!
Are you in Georgia?
I’m located in North Alabama
So my parents decided to get some horses and we are building a barn do you have any tips for me anything we should be careful for? ( I also love your videos and I watched one and now I’m hooked on them🙂)
I love ur horses and ur dogs. I got two horses and two dogs and two cats and two genia pigs and they are my babies
I just rewatched this and it is sooooo helpful I knew how to wrap but I hadn’t done it in a while. I watched this and everything came back to me
Lol at first I thought the soaked grain was worms and it creeped me lol
Thank you for this video it's exactly what I needed❤️
I'm so glad it helped!
Hey Savannah. Just wondering how you're all doin'! October 2020.

Hi! Could you maybe do an equestrian "empties" video? Where you show empty grooming products and stuff like that and review them? I saw this from a German equestrian youtuber and thought it was very interesting and something different. She also talked about things that broke, like horse boots, etc.
That is a great idea! I should get on that!
You are living my dream!
I am very blessed!
haha I gave it a thumbs up but strongly disagree with #7 lol Especially on male horses. Girls please dont. I remove them I soon as I see them and my horse thanks me low key haha
hey just wondering at 12:14 is that big beachball for them to play with?
Why don’t they have forelocks?
What breed would you recommend for your first dressage horse?
😂You're not biased, she's GORG😍
Is she a thoroughbred
Rodeo Boy she’s 25% thoroughbred, but she’s registered as Oldenburg.
hey mrs savvanah me grayson
Navi is soo beautiful look at her now!
xXSwaggyDdogXx she’s really bloomed! I’m so glad I was able to document her first year as a baby because you can really see how much she has grown and matured!
I remember when you had just met her! She has grown so much! She looks so alert and attentive, I'm sure she is going to be a great dressage horse.
Sophia Legare isn’t wild how much she’s grown?! She’s showing so much promise to be a great at any and everything I would like to do with her! I’m so excited to really get down to taking that next step with her.
What is the youngest horse you have ever ridden? I had to really think about this one for a bit, but the youngest horse I have ever ridden was 4 years old. He was a Trakehner that my boss at the time was developing and she let me hop on him for a ride to feel how great he moved and let me tell you he was NICE!
5, my current gelding who has only ever hacked so training him to jump
xXSwaggyDdogXx wow that’s sounds like so much fun! I haven’t jumped in months and I can’t wait to get back to it. I hope your training is going well!
Its going well thanks
Though i prefer dressage he is very high energy and very exitable so we are trying it out with him
xXSwaggyDdogXx well hopefully he’ll lose a bit of that spunk with age. That’s awesome that you’re branching out a bit with him though.
Amazing video, Navi is so cute!
Equestrian Lily Aw thank you! I do think she’s one of the cutest 2 year olds (though I may be biased). 😜

This video is so good. I don't own any horses hopefully I will in the future but we can't go to the barn witch is so annoying. I miss seeking the horse's but other then that we have work to do as I'm still in school doing online work sadly. And we got really nice weather Ireland 🇮🇪🐎❤

How are doing under the current quarantine rules? What are you doing to keep yourself busy? I would say we are holding up well at the farm I keep all feed (and people food) stocked up two weeks in advance at a tome and I only go out in public when necessary. Living on a farm keeps me pretty busy I have used this time at home to catch up on some things I’ve been wanting to do around the house and barn for a while.
This was a pretty good video. It’s nice to see young riders doing good riding in good training. I like and Completely agree with you on how you use your aids in your corrections open parentheses a light tap with the whip). When you are doing the first exercise you have to remember to retest or re-ask with the light aid that you were asking for with an inward light closing of the meaty part of your calf muscle. Retesting or re-asking with a light aid is important because that’s what were after. We are after do you see and feel the force surge forward with energy from behind from a light and practically invisible leg aids. This is a really good video from an amazing trainer that uses really good techniques and methods to help riders who do a lot of the training for or with their own horses and the writers don’t always have access to a lot of lessons or expensive training and trainers. Are use a lot of her methods in my teaching because of how well it works and how effective and correct and kind it is for the horse. She has an amazing happy horse training system DVD and CD set that is absolutely amazing and covers everything from whoa and go to flying changes to Grand Prix movements like Tempe changes and then she has amazing information for problem-solving when things aren’t quite going right and being able to problem solve and be a detective and try to figure out what is going wrong and what you need to change when working on just about everything. m.ua-cam.com/video/oqkeDHDXGaA/v-deo.html
Here is a playlist of A couple of two day clinics that I found on UA-cam years ago and I always find myself watching. It’s just like being right there at the barn auditing the clinic and learning from the adult amateur rider and the instructor right there. There is so much good information in these videos of the clinics. I also have some other videos of her’s and a ton of other clinics as well. Let me know if you were able to watch them and what you think. m.ua-cam.com/play/PL5TDh832WpquUdydTPG6bpL9RirU2YIcp.html
😄getting to the show 45 minutes before you ride lol!💞that's ok you didn't do well, now you can improve upon it & try again like you said. Your horses are beautiful!
Thank you so much! Yes we had a lot to improve on and now we are ready to go out and give it another go!
Couldn’t watch with your camera refocusing =(
Thanks for the feedback! I have it sorted out now. :) I did not know what I was doing when I first started making these videos. It is all a learning curve.
Ew that bit
I appreciate your concern, she is fine.
Wrap twice around the fetlock and a lil lower.
Your barn looks SOO beautifulBn
Morgan Ridenour thank you! I love my little barn! I’m so thankful for it ☺️
Yay!!!!!! I’ve been WAITING!!!
Tifani Pitts Aha! And here we are finally! Life is finally slowing down a bit so I might be able to post more often.
She looked a bit stiff through the pelvis. I know you said she's not lame but she definitely didn't look like her usual Betty self, stepping through. She really wanted to trail her hind legs behind her.
She was flat overall and not through in the bridle. I was having a difficult time getting her to step under herself and raise her withers. She tends to suck back at shows. Most of these clips are of some sort of lateral work so I can see where it creates the illusion that she’s trailing behind. We recently got her hocks done and she’s more comfortable moving better than she ever has. She’s not a very forgiving ride so if I’m not 100% on it she’ll spit me out as you can see 😂
It was still a great video and of course you can only learn from your bad rides and get back on and prepare even better and train even more. Riding is all about preparation and a whole bunch of other stuff but we prepare before, during and after everything we ask her horse to do. I could also see that you were very stiff in the contacts and you weren’t allowing your elbows to slightly open and be elastic in the sitting trot and the other gaits as well. You can really see it or notice it by looking at your horses nose and as your pelvis is coming up and down in the sitting trot you can see that your hands and elbows are causing tension and are stiff and you can see your horses nose coming forward and back forward and back forward and back forward and back as you are using your pelvis in the sitting trot. This is another one of the videos that I really like from Jane Savoie on the connecting half halt and this can really help your horse to step through the hand and this method actually works really really good for relaxation and helping your horse to understand and go on the bit using the correct sequence of aids. m.ua-cam.com/video/3Qxxil-6AMo/v-deo.html Here’s one on her elastic contact m.ua-cam.com/video/0Mbt-6bB1tY/v-deo.html
How do you deal with a bad ride or an unsuccessful show? I never really go to a show with the intention to win. I always like to set realistic personal goals for myself when I compete. This helps keep me from getting caught up with how I place and forces me to focus on self improvements in my showmanship and horsemanship. When I have a bad ride at a show or at home I always like to focus on at least one thing I liked. It could be as simple as my horse stayed still at the mounting block or rode with steady tempo the whole ride. It all depends on the skill level of the horse and rider. For instance at this show I was happy with how I kept my cool after totally wrecking my test. I was also super happy that I didn’t forget my test (which I’m extremely good at forgetting 😂). And I was happy with the fact that we got at least one clean change (which we still are and probably will forever work on).
I do the same. There's not much you can do. I give myself a little time that I allow myself to feel disappointed then suck it up and go back to training. Sometimes it's a day, sometimes it's 3 hours, sometimes it's two minutes.
If I have a bad ride or show I learn from the experience and make mental notes on what I need to work on. I never get upset because my goal is always to have fun. If at the end of the day I had fun, then it's a win even if I didn't come home with a ribbon 😊
@@LivingMyDream4412 Beautifully put! Having fun should be at the root of it all but I know that placings and ribbons tend to take that away from some riders.
