I love this video because of how it also showcases how incredibly well the used the limited color they had on the gbc , and the way a lot of them have harsh white highlights also looks a lot like the watercolor style the official artwork had

Well done! Some of these sprites looked just fine in the original games and didn't need any improvement for the western releases IMO. ones like Koffing and Aerodactyl were changed just for the sake of changing them it seems.

This was brilliant to see ! However im like 80% sure the sprites for Clefable and Vileploom were not the Pokémon yellow ones

I came across this video after finding the Pokemon Yellow Recolors, and so I love the idea of the somewhat modern looking yellow sprites being paired with the back sprites that were never updated since Red and Green. Gen 1 was so hecking weird and I love it for that

will you ever release a Pokemon Yellow rom hack with these Sprites? I'd be really curious to play it

I have a theory that it should be possible for Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal (but not Red/Blue/Yellow) to use 8* color sprites instead of 4, by overlaying two sprites of 4 colors each over one another. (*Technically 7 colors, since each sprite has a transparent "white" color)

now do it with glitch pokemon /j

I love kirby

They really robbed the middle evolutions of all their personality in the recent generations. They had SO MUCH character in Gen 1. Now with scant exceptions they look like a sad AI blend of the 1st and 3rd, or a slightly larger 1st.
