Good video, fun to watch. I just spotted a rules error. At 17:29 you say you have to find the full combination for the safe before you can start cracking it. Not so: you can start with an incomplete combination if you wish. It might not be efficient, because if you discover combination numbers that you have already cracked in other rooms, you'll have to crack them again, but it is allowed.
I like using the two player variant where you get energy instead of VP for staying and entering Tokyo to keep the game from ending too soon.
sound starts at 3:30
@@IsaacOrd indeed! Totally forgot to get the mic live beforehand! 🤦🏼
I just got this card game and I didn’t understand everything at once, but your video helped me a lot. Love you guys
@@eldenzel19 greatly appreciated! Glad that we could help out in learning the game! Happy playing!
At the end, couldn't you have traded in your two supply cards to get one of the one you needed? I'm literally trying to learn how to play this game right now from your video but I'm pretty sure I read that in directions
@@jmeA86 typically you can trade in two supply cards that you have for one of whatever you need. However, at the end, he didn’t have any supply cards left. He lost them all while trying to ford the rivers. You are correct though!
And what about the green dice and the round tokens?
@@silviajimenez8538 the green dice and the two types of round tokens come into play with certain power cards. The green dice are extra dice that come into play every time you roll, if you own that power cards. There are poison tokens that affect other players when you attack them! Those power cards can be SUPER helpful if they come up!
Nice
Tnx voor de video! Greeting out the Achterhoek, Netherlands
@@GEKKEORANJEFAN greetings! 👋🏻 Glad you liked the video!
You forgot the hidden half board of pack 2 of the potions and charms expansion
@@AssafElad indeed I did! It has actually driven me a little crazy that I didn’t have that in there!
Why do an unboxing if you're not going to show both sides of the punchboards?
@@phil-phildc483 fair point. I will definitely keep that in mind for all my future unboxing videos.
I just can't wait to get this game my birthday and Christmas is coming up so fingers crossed I get i. I already know how to play bit I wanted to see a full gameplay so thanks.
@@felixjrortiz8825 I really hope you get this game for Christmas! It is SO good, and the replayability is excellent! You will love it!
This is late but you can't take a treasure card like the masked guy did for an action. You can only give a treasure card on your turn. At 8:09
@@DaniLearnsTo indeed you are correct on that! Thank you for catching that!
Thank you for the detailed review! I think this could be a great Christmas present for my friend!
@@samuelstephens5545 glad the review was helpful! It is a wonderful game for a Christmas gift! Hope your friend gets one from you! 🙌🏻
Why filming with fish eye effect
Hi diddy
When playing 2 player, each player rolls both dice twice and gains all the benefits of both rolls. When buying you also have to buy different faces for the die, you can not buy the two, four gold faces.
I love that you commented on those two player rules!! My wife literally told me yesterday about those two specific differences for a 2 player game. So yes, each player rolls their die twice at the start of each persons turn. AND when purchasing multiple dice faces in a single turn, you MUST choose two DIFFERENT faces if they are in the same pool.
Very complex
Just a tip you need to go for more dice builds and focus on getting victory points. you guys were around 10-20 victory points where my games average around 100 points. i love this game its so fun especially when you make combos.
This is awesome!!
@@theidiot960 thank you!
Thanks you guys, the instructional video and other videos and the instructions are freaking confusing
You are welcome! I am glad to hear that it was helpful, and a little less confusing! Happy gaming!
Too bad this isn't popular
Can you use the items/ omens/ events/ tiles with base 3rd edition if your not doing the wolf haunts?
Totally getting this
Can you only buy power cards on your move? Or can it be even on someone else’s turn???
@@rklow2023 you can only purchase power cards on YOUR turn, not during another player’s turn.
Thank you for the video! Am learnjf how to play a 2 player game and love that AS you play, you explain each step instead of diving into the instructions 🙏🙏🙏
Very clear as well Ty!
@@rklow2023 So glad that you liked it and found it helpful! Are there any other games that you would like to see played?
@@gamenighttonight Not at the moment no, mainly, because I see what board/card games I would like to purchase when they're played at parties, meet ups, etc. BUT I would love to see a video of YOUR top 5 board games that you for example would take to a party/ get someone into with a quick blurb about the game, followed up by any personal hang ups/your own critique of the game. Thank you for the follow up!
Just got this game and played last night, we weren't sure we were playing right but this was very fun to watch and helped clarify everything. Thanks!
So glad that this was so helpful in your own playthrough! It is such a great game!
Nice work. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked it!
Brilliant video, you should have way more subs !!!
Thank you! I really appreciate it! Share it with your family and friends! Just happy to be helping others learn new games!
Thank you very much for showing all the faction separators) I took screenshots, I’ll go print them out)
Glad I could be of help!
Great)))👍👍👍
Would love if you made this into a series👌
What kind of series?
❤❤
Wondering if, 2 years on, you've played all the scenarios and if so, which is your favorite?
Good points: * The theme of the game is great. Build the most memorable civilization from the classical Mediterranean world. * There are a few different basic 'plans' you can adopt and try to implement. Bad points: * A lot of things you need to check each turn for each of the 7 through 2 cards you receive each turn:: ** Do already own this card. ** Can you get this card for free, because you own a 'parent' card. ** Do you have the resources for this card. ** If not, do your neighbors had the resources you can buy. ** If so, do you have enough money to buy these resources. (Games are close, so a one time failure to spot a card you could have played may cost you the game) * Did someone get confused and play a card they should not have played: did not have the resources, already owned, etc. Not really practical to check the card played by everyone each turn. * Really, everyone needs there own copy of the rules, so they can look at the page that shows the various Blue, Yellow, Red and Green 'trees'. Like what you need to get started in a certain green branch and what resources you need to start an 'Age II' green branch if you miss getting the 'Age I' green branch. Is a certain 'tree' you can start really worth it? This one page has to be passed back and forth throughout the game for all players really trying to win. Overall: While not perfect, I like it. I love the theme which makes games more fun for me. And evaluating various possible plans, and choosing a plan, trying to stick with it, judging if you have to modify your plan during the game, is fun.
All great points! The game is fun, but definitely a lot going on for those who are really focusing on trying to win! I love just how quickly you can get through a game though!
Bless you! Thank-you so much for making this video. I’m in the process of packing to move and this video helped me combine my game and expansions. I tucked the 10 charm boards under the plastic divider on the dice side against the wall of the box, then laid the potion board flat under the plastic divider. My game box closed pretty much all the way.
I am so glad that it was so helpful! It sure helps to save space between all three boxes! And thank YOU for the clarification of how you made it work even better! 🙌🏻
What if you roll your die and it lands on henchman and you pick up carmen sandiego
Then you try to keep that information hidden from the other players. Knowing where Carmen San Diego is the way you win, if you can get a matching location and loot up in the middle spot, and reveal the location of Carmen San Diego.
@@gamenighttonight ok thank u so much man I was so confused
@@justinnperez2592 glad I could clarify! 🙌🏻
Promo sm 😒
I'm so glad it fits sleeved!!
I couldn’t agree more!! 🙌🏻
Socrates is pronounced (sock-cre-tees, Not So-crates)
It's a movie reference, dude lol
I think you lost prematurely. You only lose if you get caught without a stealth token.
I am glad you commented on that! We found that out a month or so after releasing the video! Serious game changer there! So we could have potentially won had we known the REAL rule! 🤦🏼
Perhaps, but you still had a ways to go and this game is really tough. Keep on gamin'!!
Dude….the show came out in 2002. What’s wrong with you 😂
Obviously my sense of time is super skewed! 🤣 I definitely watched it about ten years after it came out, so I honestly had no idea! 🤦🏼
Promo_SM 💘
Thank you for actually playing the game and not just explaining it.
That is what we are all about! Playing the game so that you can see it in action! I hope it was helpful! Are there any other games you would like to see us play through?
Isn’t the game broken?
Are you referring to the game Show they did for a while?
What does the babylon center wonder build do?
Normally, when you get the final 2 cards of each age you play one and discard the other. The B side he's using for Babylon in this game lets you play that 7th card just like any other card when you build that 2nd stage - construct it, build a wonder stage, or discard for coins. And you get to do that at the end of each age moving forward. If you managed to build that 2nd stage of Babylon during the 1st age, you would get that extra card play at the end of all 3 ages. The instructions even call out the fact that if you use your 6th card to construct that 2nd stage, you can use that 7th card that turn rather than discarding it
Nailed it! Thank you for the breakdown!
This is by far the best video explaining gameplay. I sent this to my family so everyone knew what they were doing when the game arrived.
Thank you for the positive feedback. I am so glad that it proved to be so helpful! Please let us know if there are any other games you would like to see played!
@@gamenighttonight I would love to see Jim Henson's Labyrinth game!
Really helpful playthrough. Thanks
I am glad that it helped! Are there any other games you would like to see us cover?
Thanks. Were did you get your black card sleaves? Thanks from Sweden
I picked them up from Mayday Games. They are the 66mm x 91mm Black backed card sleeves. You can purchase them at maydaygames.com.
What about the Hogwarts Cards for the potions expansion? There aren’t dividers for those
