New York - 1953 / The Man: Dan Alevy
Переглядів 5 тис.11 років тому
Other than the fact I find this video oddly intriguing I don't know much about it. Here's what I do know: It has the titles "New York - 1953" and "The Man: Dan Alevy" associated with it. It was made in 1953 and produced by Henry Trettin, Dan Alevy and Al Viola. (Not the renowned jazz guitarist Al Viola). Eighteen years later Trettin and Viola would both be involved with the film "Mr. Forbush an...
Livin' Man Song From "Owl Creek"
Переглядів 56 тис.14 років тому
Excerpts of the tune "Livin' Man" and a couple of instrumentals from the French-made 1962 short film "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge." Adapted from a 1890 Ambrose Bierce short story, the film won a number of international short film awards, and also appeared as an episode on the original Twilight Zone TV series. The end credits of the Twilight Zone version list only Henri Lanoë as the source...
GEORGES DELERUE - RAPTURE
Переглядів 18 тис.15 років тому
Three musical excerpts from film composer Georges Delerue's score to the 1965 movie Rapture. According to the studio production notes, Rapture initially ran 133-minutes and was eventually trimmed to its current 104-minute running time. It's unknown whether any musical deletions may have resulted because of this. Some excerpts from the original Rapture soundtrack are available as part of a 6-CD ...

Rudy Vallee (and His Connecticut Yankees) circa 1929
Rather sad really.
Moment has passed but the memories remain
❤❤❤
Dooohhhhhh!!!
I seen this short film in high school 50 years ago and could never remember the name, but it made a lasting impression on me.
He would have to be doing gymnastics while his band played if this was now.
Livin Man- Stoney Joe on Spotify
First time i see images of Rudy Vallee. What a great singer and beautiful melody!(Brazil)
Beautiful!❤
This breaks my heart down to its core. I was diagnosed with cancer just about a year ago. I’m a young man, 22 years old, hearing this song just makes me want to bathe in sunlight and love and cherish my time on earth while I’m here. It kinda makes all the other problems in life not so important
Don't give up. Keep fighting until the end.
Keep fighting. You’re a livin’ man. Your time has not come.
One of the greatest short subject films ever made. I saw it in 1978 in a high school English class and never forgot it. A masterpiece.
Perfect music supporting the mood and effect!
When I die you’ll hear this playing from my room.

I love this music. I can listen to this all the timeI believe that I'm an old soul.
same feeling
Frank Crumit very underrated singer and almost forgotten now.
This is just amazing!! I have the Victor 78 of him performing this song!
I always loved this show! This song is so fantastic! I shared it with many people around the world, they loved it! thanks for the upload!
I was 9 when this film came out. The music was so beautiful to me that I learned to play it on the piano.
¡¡¡¡Bravísimo!!!! ¡Maravilloso! ¡Cuánta belleza, cuánta nostalgia! ¡Amo esta música! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌹🌹🌹🌹🌻🌻🌻🌻🌷🌷🌷🌷💐💐💐💐💐
Talented musician....what instrument did he not play?
those puppy dog eyes, soft, romantic, slightly naughty style, definitely I can see why he was such a heartthrob, the first boy band
Poignant beyond belief...
This was nice
With all due respect, this film would be nothing without the music yet the musicians are given no credit. It sounds like John DeLancie Senior playing the oboe solo which makes me think it may be Philadelphia under Ormandy. Please help with details of the many orchestral professionals that brought this emotionally charged work of art to life. Thank you.
What a beautiful song with haunting treasures. 😊Rudy and his orchestra were in top form on this night. 1929
Back in 1997, I was still in the US Marine Corps (Operation Balkan Peace), attached to UN Peacekeeping Forces. I had graduated college the year before, earning my [first] BA, as well as receiving my officer’s commission. Anyway, I saw some things that shook me up pretty bad (that PTSD STILL remains a constant companion, DESPITE receiving an honorable discharge in 2002, one marriage and divorce, being a single dad to 3 adopted kids, and getting married-quite happily-again!!!). They were the kind of things that reminded me what my maternal grandfather [God Rest his soul: 💐💐💐🕯️🕯️1921-2003🕯️🕯️💐💐💐] saw in Europe during WWII💔❤️🩹💝 I was on leave in the UK 🇬🇧, visiting family on my dad’s side not long after seeing the things that folks HERE only READ ABOUT in the papers📰 …☹️💔❤️🩹💝 One evening, I was helping out w/ one of the family businesses (a pub & restaurant) in York. I found some VHS 📼 tapes of The Twilight Zone up in the “overnight loft” (sometimes, it was necessary for a family member or friend to stay overnight if there was a shipment 🚚 due the next morning. There were only a few regulars that time of night, and there were no football ⚽️ matches on, so I popped a tape in, and Occurrence At Owl 🦉 Creek Bridge was on. This wouldn’t be the first time I wanted to be “A LIVIN’ Man”, not would it be the last 💚💛💙 Back home here in the Good Ol Pacific NW (Oregon-way), I try to get out to the State Parks, the Oregon Coast or the Columbia River Gorge whenever I can; sometimes by myself, a LOTTA times w/ the wife and kids (the latter all 3 all grown up now and doing well in life ❤️🤍💙💛). Whenever I see that Mighty Ol’ Columbia or MacKenzie or Yamhill River, I’m reminded AGAIN just how happy 😊 I AM to be “A LIVIN’ Man”❤️🧡💛💚💙💘💘💘💘💘
I heard this in a fnaf vhs video made by noobzor9
Does anyone remember ..I believe this was a Grammys award show in the 70s.. Mr valli..made a guest presentation with Frankie valli... And he sung one of his four seasons songs but in the manner of the golden era of music... Frankie didn't look impressed .. or maybe that was the skit.... But to see two legends from two very different eras side by side was a real treat. Just my opinion.
"The thrill of your embrace is just another memory" I know how you feel mate, in fact it's been so long since a woman embraced me i've clean forgot it.
Great song. Love Rudy and the group. Wish they were still here.
Love yah, Rudy. I pass your grave on my commute to work and sometimes even stop by and have a moment with yah where you're laid. Be well on your spiritual journey. Yours is a wild one.
I remember listening to this while riding around in my Stutz Bearcat. Those were the days.
Found out huh, another life's milestone.
Go Rudy!
Прекрасно во все времена!
良い曲だなあ。。
Bella voz
Lovely 🌹🌹🌹🌹
TY Prof Jonathon Shannon for introducing this to me!
I think we all wish he could have lived happily ever after with his pretty and adoring wife.
Makes one yearn to live, grasp at the thread of life. The first time I saw this the end had me hysterically crying.
😭
This guy might of turned out to be another JOHN CASAVETTES!!! with this slight off centered mind inducing short film*** One thing to note and here I go again: those TAILFINNED CARS would show up 4 years later as most cars in 1953 went back to 1938* In other words the MAJORITY OF CARS SEEN on the streets were from 1938 tru 1953* a good 15 year period!!
I think about the most heavenly score ever written I absolutely love it it takes me away!!
I love the slightly ghostly songs from the 1920s and 30' - think of the overlook hotel
very corny and too old fashioned. I'll stick to my favorite music which is Disco! 🤩
I grew up in this nabe...4Ave used bookstores like Strand...3Ave. El...Astor Place...i was 3 in 1953
The ending part of this song always got me emotional. Even knowing what was coming after having read the story, the music progressively getting louder and almost happier as he runs towards his wife one last time before death. Its like a fleeting, false hope, in music form
