Thank you so much for your amazing project. I know you need support and I want to support you. But not all parts of the world are equals, in Saudi Arabia, with a family of 10, it will costs me 350$ to purchase the licenses. If we convert it to Saudi Riyals it equals to 1312 SR which is on the high end over here with the purchase power of SR locally. I know you are flexible I am not forced to pay, but I would feel guilty if I pay less than what you are requesting. Overall, your product is one of a kind and is making the world a better place. Just a suggestion, maybe a family discount?.... in case of hosting our own maps so it will reduce your server costs.

I mostly agree with this sentiment. However, the thing with immich leaves me a bit perplexed and perhaps it shouldn't but... Right now, my use of immich is extremely . I have it on a server in my home for internal use only and only for very specific things. So while I dont mind pay $100 for the software, I dont think I use it enough to justify that expense AT THE MOMENT. But I do feel eventually that I there is a descent chance I will make more use of it. So I want to give them something to support continuation of the product. I realize I could just buy a single user license and then later buy a server license. But that just f"eels", wasteful for some reason. And I know I could just pay nothing unless and until I decide to make heavier use of it. But then I feel wrong in that I am not contributing "something" which is why I like the donation options.

I am not a lawyer nor am I an expert in any way. - I am just noticing that in the TOS of Circles, there are Arbitration and Class Action Waiver sections. I listend to Louis rant about these things and am now curious about how and why they were added in the Circles TOS since I would assume that Louis' opinions are not too far apart from the ones shared by the people at FUTO.

Ten years ago I would have been like, "pay for basic phone software? That's crazy." But as companies have forced shitty ToS and EULAs down our throats while selling all our data, I'm thrilled at BS-free apps to manage my stuff. I'm beyond sick of proprietary software that forces updates that make functionality worse.

To be honest, l like donating more. I Donate 5$ a month to Immich since October 31, 2022. Just feels better than buying. As a comparison. I would feel like a complete idiot to pay for winrar when you can get it for free. I've never done it either. But donating to a project I believe in is a completely different matter for me. Well, in the end it's just a matter of feeling.

People should pay for their software if they can. That's nice. In Brazil for example a 50 dollar Software is very expensive for the average Joe due to the devaluation of our currency. That's why a lot of people pirate stuff.

I'd seriously consider vetting the stability of the hyperland dev team before continuing any additional funding. There's been some meltdowns from the dev recently that have caused concern for the project's integrity.

Never seen Exiftool and Garage, largely because it's currently of no use to me. But I use Wine and Valve's Proton fork frequently, so it's great to see it get funding. It's a shame to see FUTO support Hyprland given the community's history of transphobia, which while it seems to have improved now, it has not done so sufficiently. It would be nice to see FUTO put more effort into being cautious with the projects they support.

Hi! Agreed... happy to pay for good and high quality open source software. But I also agree we are the minority but it's also our job to educate and for the tech literate among us to help our less techy family members about this.

This sounds like proprietary software with extra step. This is how royalty/patent system slows the innovation. I'm not against monetizing, just worried it'll ruin the ecosystem. Once anything has become big enough with money, Capitalism will take over, it'll no longer be about people. Its will be about your commercial customers or how money comes in.

I wanted to know is it possible to use immich 🤌 as just a gallery app for photo viewing on android i would love to have that 😄

A relatively unrelated question. Does FUTO have a Discord set up yet?

I've always kind of thought there should be like a fractional investment kinda thing but for FOSS, like indices, but for donating. Like with donating to FSF or FUTO, who will hand out funds, but with more control over who you want the money to be handed to afterwards. Like say you take some amount you find affordable, e.g. 10 local currency units, you specify the projects you use/are interested in and some proportions that you want the money to be split in (a bit like humble bundle?), initially it goes into some holding pool, the desired donation amounts from everyone get aggregated and then you send out the money to each project. Just really lower the barrier to donating broadly.

You know, I know that some people may think "uuh just donate to them directly" but it would be so cool if you could donate to a fund through FUTO that increases the sizes of these grants. I would totally do that, even set up a regular payment thing. And I'm the kind of person who hates subscription services lol.

wine also runs on Android to make aarch64 windows software work on Android, but this is great to hear that so much open source projects get more funding.
