The mandalorian: Although it is good, all its chapters follow the same formula and the second season is the same but with fanservice. Book of Boba Fett: It's decent, but add elements as useless as the bikers, the Boba from the Flashbacks is very different from the Boba we see in the present and they included 2 episodes of the Mando that ended up overshadowing the entire plot and The end of the second season of the Mandalorian no longer means anything. Obi wan: it has the worst script, development, cinematographically it looks bad, the effects look cheap and the only good thing were the Vader scenes. Andor: It's a well-done espionage drama that, being a prequel, took the time to build the story, develop characters, and without the need for fanservice. That "argument that it is not star wars" is useless since it is verified in the movies themselves since the prequels and originals are so different that the only one thing that unite them are the jedis. Stop being mediocre and settling for trash like Obi wan that just because have an iconic character or a good fight you already consider it good. Andor is what star wars could and should be. On the consistency part - Its meant to be arcs split into 3 episodes each 123, 456. 7 is a bridge between the second and third arc and the finale is 2 episodes. Why isn't it the empire instead? You want stormtroopers and imperials chasing Andor simply because he was at a brothel? Andor at this point does warrant any imperial attention in the slightest, hes to small for them to worry about. Now idk if you saw in the show but yes it started with cassian looking for his sister, but then everything that happened in the later episodes was a result of him killing the cops. You complain about Marva taking him, and I kinda get ur critique but it is likely that he would have died and as she stated later there were no survivors on that planet(which may or may not be true) but in Andor's case he would have been found on that ship and definitely killed no question, so yes she saved his life. Yes Andor said he was in the fight since he was 6 years old and as you I was confused because he does seem older. However, did you see any adults in his tribe? Nope. Just kids. And it was said in the show there was a mining disaster on his planet. Just becuase the flashbacks started at that age doesn't mean nothing happened to him when he was 6. Likely he meant 6 years old when the empire or whatever faction at that time ravaged his world. If the story started when he was 6 he'd be a teenager. If you're trying to say they didn't show why Andor is in the rebellion I don't know what you saw. The empire hanged his adoptive father, took over his town, unfairly imprisoned him for walking, and likely did something to his original parents. The entire season of his character was about how he disliked the empire but was never willing to go far enough to fight them head on until the last episode. The aliens complaint I understand but they did have them but none of them were main characters or had much lines. And no there definitly not 5 aliens in the entire show, episode 10 has at least double that. Complaining about how the city looks is wild, what were you expecting a nice and lavish Kingdom? Its basically a salvage/junkyard/construction type of world. Tony gilroy saved rogue one which is a very star warsy type of film no? JJ Abrams and rian johnson are both fans of star wars and look how that turned out. 18:42 wait till you find out star wars was based on alot of other things and has very famous character tropes. I mean its 2023, like there aren't much you can do with characters that haven't been done before but alright. No worldbuilding?? All the things they did in reaction has to be passed via the senate, The emperor needs a reason to pass these things, the heist showed the senators blind enough to believe him that they needed more security and order. Jesus I don't think you get it. The empire was already evil and scary and abusive of their power, that heist just gave them a reason to be worse. Also the Empire wasn't threatening in this? This is the only star wars project were stormtroopers were consistently hitting their targets. We see how they displaced locals, hanged people to get respect, how they used the screams of dying children as a torture method and how they will recycle thousands in their harsh prison systems until they die. No star wars doesn't need to be mature and gritty and have sex and violence no, but IT CAN BE. Most importantly it can be different, it can appeal to different sections of its audiences. 22:55 this doens't sound bad but its not better than what we got at all and sounds alot like all the tropes you described before. Sounds like you NEED to read the books because TOLKIEN HAS ALL RACES OF MEN IN LORD OF THE RINGS. He had ZERO PROBLEMS with black people. Elves were awakened under starlight. There WAS NO SUN YET. Dwarves were awakened under the mountain, where there IS NO SUNLIGHT. Those races have fair skin because there was NO SUN for THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS OF YEARS. The race of men were awakened UNDER THE SUN. Therefore men have melanin in their skin to varying degrees. There are dark skin peoples in Lord of the Rings. Also, LOTR is a myth created FOR England. You need to imagine what the racial makeup of ancient England populating this adventure. It DOESN'T MEAN there were no black people in the world or that Tolkien was racist. It means there WEREN'T a whole lot of black people living in England, therefore there were not a whole lot of black people living in areas where the adventure takes place. This ISN'T racist. If I'm watching a film take place in India or China and I don't see ANY white, black or latino people I DO NOT ASSUME its because of racism. The books weren't racist, they were just set in a European style location at a time when there hadn't been much integration of races. He does include dark skinned people from exotic lands in reference. Very few of those complaining about the integration are truly racist; most just have valid concerns about the casting being randomly placed, even scattered into every race regardless of logical defiance. Elves were created in a time before a Sun, dwarves live in caves, and harpoons are a very small genetic group, so they don't make sense having a black elf with a perfect fresh fade.

I think you put a fine point on the state of the writing, which is an insult to piss to call it "piss poor". However, I think throwing around that someone is racist so frivolously is silly. I didn't have a problem with the mixed race casting. And i don't think you can call Tolkien racist as the fellowship of the ring is literally made up of peoples from four distinct races being led by an envoy of the gods. The biggest problem with the show was its absolute disregard for Tolkien's mythology and world building. You had writers who believed they could write a better fantasy than Tolkien, arguably the best fantasy creator of all time. My overwhelming sentiment after watching the first four episodes was dissapointment at such a missed opportunity to create something memorable and brilliant........I couldn't bring myself to watch the last two episodes.

You are the fan base the Abomination Team thought they were aiming for. People who loved Jackson's masterpiece on its own merits and gained a thirst to know more. What they advertised to was a rather different group. I don't think it's fair to give any credence to the idea of Tolkien being a racist. He was a creature of his own intellectual world and spent literally every hour of his waking life teaching the in-depth interrelations of languages or constructing his own languages and creating an entire cosmos to include them. I'm not sure he ever noticed that humans come in different colors. The man was the antithesis of a racist, someone who was intensely interested in the contents of people's characters, and completely apathetic to their external attributes. We Tolkien book fans started out as a bunch of hippies in the sixties, and some of still are. Calling us nazis pretty much killed any chance this show had with us before it started.

The difference between the PJ trilogy and this show is the PJ trilogy was mostly based in Tolkien's writings and characters (and the worst parts of those movies were just those in which they deviated from his writings), and this show only uses character names and places invented by Tolkien, but not a single one of his stories related with them. I personally gave up in this show after hear the casting and the showrunners insulting Tolkien (calling him Sexist and racist, and even hinting a relationship with certain german regime from the XX century) and saying that they had wrote a better history than Tolkien could have ever wrote because they had, you know, diversity in their show. As a sidenote, I think you have misunderstood the issue with raceswapped characters and the Tolkien fans, probably guided by what the media, cast, showrunners and Amazon invented about it. Away from that, an interesting review of the show, good job.

I liked the movie, but there were some things that I thought should have been included. The 56 WDIA Goodwill Revue which would show why BB King would be close to Elvis. "Thanks man for all of those early lessons you gave me." (Tri-State Defender December 1956) and Jailhouse Rock set for the Louie Robinson's interview with Elvis "The truth about that Elvis Presley rumor." (Jet Magazine August 1957). Or Elvis and Johhny Bragg (Prisonaries) Elvis and Jackie Wilson, Rufus Thomas or Sammy Davis Jnr etc. There might not have been enough time, maybe in the four hour.

I completely disagree with your review. They need to squeeze 42 years into two hours and 40 minutes I thought he did an amazing job. This movie is designed for today’s generation to get them into Elvis and it accomplishes that.
