A1 and A2 in the feature window show the angle orientation of the feature. You can adjust the nominal angles in the XY, YZ, XZ etc. planes to change the tilt or orientation of the feature, in relation to the alignment.

You can edit the StandardProtocol template, adding your company logo. Then overwrite the default template with the same name in this directory: C:\Program Files\Zeiss\CALYPSO 7.8\PiWebReportingTemplates\StandardProtocol.ptx

You can make a "template" measurement plan, which is basically a blank program with measured points turned on. Use the template program for other saved settings, like report output, units, custom clearance planes, etc. Then when you make a new program, open the template and Save As.

No, you would need to manually qualify the reference sphere, and then you can run the probe qualifications after that. If the reference sphere qualification is part of your program, mask out that characteristic. Thanks! Steven

Hi Brandon, It is not currently possible to do a pattern within a pattern, but the next best option is to create the 5-hole linear pattern as separate features. Then put those in a group, and right-click on the group to set it to a rotational pattern. Thanks, Steven

Hi, can you please provide more information about your problem? Is the RDS XXT probe head rotating the wrong direction? What exactly are you trying to do, and what is happening incorrectly?

If the RDS head is stuck at the wrong angle and won't move, you have to close Calypso, turn off the controller (M) button and black power button on the side. If you have an older CMM there might be a power switch on the CMM also. Then turn everything back on in reverse order.

Calypso is limited in its ability to calculate datum shift from datums with the MMC (MMB) modifier. With the "Symmetry Plane" feature of size, there is no option to use MMB in the position characteristic on datums K and L. Since Datum B plane is the spatial rotation (levelling), it is acceptable to use line features for datums K and L; as well as the fact that the pocket is relatively shallow.

If so, you might reject the good parts.

In a situation like this, where Calypso does not give the option to use MMB, you can use a formula in the tolerance box to calculate the available datum shift and add it to the tolerance in the X and Z directions.

If you put a negative sign on the pitch (gradient/slope), it will reverse the thread direction. However, the easier way to reverse the thread direction is to simply un-check the box next to Rotation direction, which will make it a left-hand thread. I always put a positive number in the gradient/slope box, and in the rare occasion that it is a left-hand thread, un-check the rotation direction - Right.

Hi Sahin, You can do that as two separate true position characteristics. Use the bore pattern option or a 3d Best-fit alignment to establish the datum reference frames.

Yes, this is normal, especially if the CMM is a smaller one. You can reduce the measuring speed in the run window and also in the measurement plan editor under travel - speed. The 1st option controls speed between features , and the last option controls the speed between points within a feature.

Go to Resources - Define Printout. In the Default Printout tab, on the bottom where it says "Excel Report", click the open icon. You will be prompted to open one of the Excel templates. Select the "Characteristic" file. Now your program will export an Excel file to your default Result Files folder.
