there's not just one song dude
Pretty, yo damn this is beautiful man
This really means a lot to me. For real.
Dope
Guess they got what they wanted - every note perfectly autotuned, chorus soundly in-line with 1980s Big Bird sing-a-long, and wall-to-wall vocals from wannabe Beatles artists who couldnt wash Paul McCartney’s socks. Cheeseburger critic aughtta be real proud of himself. He obviously uplifted people like these bands did. Maybe he’d like to lay his head in Luke Bryans lap?
red red meat ❤️🩹
Your music is so good! I love it all.
Moving song.
Love this!
John Prine rules!
You're awesome. This is divine.
great upload!! thanks
This is the most nostalgic live footage I have ever seen. Thanks so much for archiving this. And thanks for sound-tracking my high school years and pointing my guitar in the right direction <3 T3FAlways
I was sad to see Steve Albni leave this world to early. Jesus Lizard for ever and ever
thanks from NZ, rock on chicago!!
Saw you guys kill it at Liberty Lunch in Austin. Was a fan as soon as I heard Broadcaster, as anyone who loves rock would be! 😎✌🏾
"Once you see the Jesus Lizard once, you get their schtick. It's one song." Dude, don't take it out on the band because you're too fat for the pit. I've seen the Jesus Lizard 10 times...every time was unique and wonderful.
Huh. Never realized that Tweedy stole his whole thing from The Pulsars.
ALBINI WAS GOD
R.I P Steve Albini. Nice that this doc opens with one of his songs. Big Black made the best unatural guitar sounds.
This is an amazing example of how music journalists have far bigger egos than bands sometimes
“Criticism is the expression of an unmet need”
Oh my; what a fabulous song. Something about it reminds me of Avenues and Alleyways. Now who sang that? Was it the...Amarillo guy?
Oooh, this is lovely. Could listen to an album of this vibe.
Biggest thing that happened in the Chicago scene in the 90s, which started the year this doc was made, wasn't Smashing Pumpkins. It was Pitchfork Media and the effect they had on all indie music in the 00s.
no doubt about it, Jesus Lizard were the kings of Touch & Go
One thing I remember about Chicago's 90s punk scene is the "here today-gone tomorrow" indie labels, for instance, Firebrick records that had a few little bands that never went anywhere.
Most of these bands fucking SUCK! And the passè-holier than-thou-head-stuck-deep-inside-their-ass attitude is really laughable... They are such artistes, mannnn, they're doing it for the art, mannnn at the same time sounding completely unoriginal and dull. The older I get the more music documentaries look like Spinal Tap. And I'm so glad there was nobody around with a camera listening to the stupid bullshit I was spewing as such profound statements when I was younger
what song is seam playing around 34:00? never heard of them before but that shit was dope af
Late reply but the song is Two Is Enough
@@bibbyboxx2219 goddam, thank you. idk why i couldnt figure it out, was drivin me nuts lol
I left Chicago in '94, one of my best days ever in L.A. was when The Jesus Lizard came through and played the parking lot of Aron's Records in Hollywood in '96.

HEY ME AGAIN ! Do you think this will ever make it on Spotify? :3
Hi, Jep. I'm not sure how that all works. I think the song would have to come out on an album? I really have no idea. I don't even know how my other tunes wound up there. I'll do some research. Thanks for the interest in this one!
@@kevintihista665I would love to see this on spotify too. Family Curse is one of my favorite songs… Ever, not just by you. Glad it magically wound up on there so I can play it more often.
This is such an amazing song!
thumbs down for that SMUSHED UP LOOKIN' KID who says the jesus lizard have one song. WHERE IS HE NOW?
So many of these Chicago bands of this era have such strident, upper mids in their guitars with very liyyle low end. It’s the exact opposite tonally of doom. ..not a criticism, the make it work.
Of all the bands Albini doesn't like, Veruca Suck gets a pass? Really?! Doesn't like UO but their dreck isn't shat upon?! Signs and wonders...
November 2023 and im listening to the album again.
The Jesus Lizard are amazing! “ There’s only one song” Oh shut up you moron!
"...there's one song"...what a fucking idiot.
Duane is such a narcissist. Years later, they have zero influence. Jealous just like Roger Osborne that troll that sings for the Melvins.
😂……no influence? Well you’re a mighty piece of excrement. They’ve influenced a TON of musicians and bands. Go listen to disturbed you abysmal twit.
Wut?
Huh
Dang..
Would this ever go on Spotify? I’d love to add it to my playlist.
"There's only one song" What a douchecannon. The reason why I still listen to The Jesus Lizard more than say than Hammerhead, Tar, Cows, God and Texas, etc. is because they wrote amazing songs. They had far more dynamics than those other bands and each song was different. Duane Dennison was a FAR better guitarist and that was what made them phenomenal. Cows could have been that off the chain if they had a guitarist who could do even 20% of what Duane was capable at the time.
Who is the dolt that said it’s 1 song? He needs his art spoon fed to him.
Duane Dennison is how guitar should be played. If you had lips and Monkey trick are just wizardry
I love Jesus Lizard! If critics don't like, f*ck them!
Absolutely brilliant! It is so important to document those times, the people and the music. Well done to the film maker. Thanks for sharing this
Been listening to Rapeman since I first heard them 🤡
8:23
Making me homesick and youth-sick.
lol the critics in this
Aye shout out big black
All time fav band. The jesus lizard Not really fond of somes political views but cant take aaay my memories
6:25. 7:30. now i finally understand how the others got along with david. ALL band members are grumpy freaks 🤣. I love them.🥰
Wow 😯 This was amazing 😻 Never knew Thank you Kevin
How wonderful your song is
Who else misses Muchacha??
