It is home to Maynooth University part of the National University of Ireland, a Pontifical University and Ireland's main Roman Catholic seminary, St Patrick's College. Healy and Mangan Ltd are innovative Bespoke Furniture Designers and Manufacturers. This is Part of an episode of the Irish Television Program, Room to Improve. This episode records the renovation of a beautiful old Coach House in Maynooth for a motivated couple of motivators. Healy and Mangan provided the kitchen, wardrobes and wall paneling in this unique renovation. I dislike this chick…so arrogant
He passed 4 yrs ago and this video was 5 yrs ago. I hope Michael got to stay in his beautiful new room from the until he passed. He deserved that. It absolutely crushed me to find this out. I watched him several yrs ago and saw him younger on another show about another child. He was always so bubbly and so sweet. He spent 15 yrs in a home for boys who couldn't even talk. He was soooo happy to be in a proper home. I can't for the life of me know how bad it hurt the adoptive parents. I don't know exactly what happened but it was sudden ans unanticipated. God love the little irishman.. I do wish they would have finished this video. He didn't pass for a yr and a half after this
Don't like him he Don't give what the people want. He do what he what's.
There are the types of architects, the Artist, the Salesman, and the Engineer. He's the salesman. When you're in sales you *must* provide your customer with options but you give them 2... *maybe* 3. Otherwise they get overwhelmed and want to compare everything, take forever or simply never choose... then it becomes "oh he/they/someone chose for me, I never liked it" So you give them 2-3 options, and make them pick. On a side note, he's certainly gone alone with some family's dreams, to the detail. In that case, he becomes the Engineer. He understands in that case the customer knows exactly what's required or goes on with his job and the builders. Which means half his job is done for him. As an engineer, despite being a perfectionist, I myself don't care what the product looks like, as long as it works. If it can look like what the customer wants? well then sure! why not! if it makes the product worse, you protect the customer from what you come to understand *they* do or don't understand.

Been following this Programme since two days now on channel 5,and it's very annoying. Like the Client has to do as he says. They are the clients... This guy is so imposing. I for one could never work with him.. Just watching this right here...As an archietect... What does the Client want??? He always seem to butting heads. "I Want" " I'm struggling..." " I think it's wrong.... etc Like this Client says Sleeping with one eye open keeping check on him. Should not be.
True. But, when clients pick ugly things his name is on the line. If I walk into a house and the design is ugly, I won't ever want to work with that architect. I won't even want an explanation.

Why does he insist on doing the family s interior design & soft furnitureings? Hes responsible for the building & development & design of the house. Seems to disregard the owners opinion s & try to manipulate & bully his opinion on to them . It's not his house or his money but he doesn't seem to care . Stop bn a nancy boy & allow the owners do the interior design of THEIR HOMES NOT YR HOME SO ANNOYING..As manny have told him we like it we want it & we have to live with it when hes gone. Give the keys back to the owners & stop trying to build a home u WANT & listen to the customer's & clients. Yr good at what you do as an architect stop picking tiles & furniture & cookers & curtains & floors & light s& carpet s & beds & paint ect let the home owner have some say for God sake

Don’t get this programme...people ask dermot for his expertise ..and yet when it comes down to it they dont ....looks like it’s back to trophy houses and in the mini tiger era ....what it really shows are people’s personalities or more accurately , the lack thereof ...most clients end up looking like ( mildly put ) arrogant spoilt children .......the other thing is that dermot ends up doing a lot of similar stuff .....time for a change ....bring back the original roo to improve ...and see ,,what can be done for 20/ 30 grand on a 1/2 room improvement / restoration ......
