@@wendigomassacre always. I had the GameCube version as a kid and I remember being so proud of myself when I would solve a puzzle. I remember doing a run where I beat it in like 2 days and I was so proud of myself. Couldn’t imagine having that much time on my hands these days

@@wendigomassacre it’s worth it! I played the remake over the summer and was pleasantly surprised by the game! What I love most though is that the Re4 remake and Re4 2005 are really in actuality DIFFERENT games. There’s so many differences in how the game approaches story telling and game play and I still personally find a reason to play both. After I beat remake I went back and played the og and they really are just different games. Of course 2005 is a bit simpler in design but it also has some charm that remake is missing while remake is a much more serious tone (for the most part) 2005 Leon is so carefree and hilarious and the atmosphere seems a little more creepy to me but that might just be due to graphical limitations idk

@@veg.rev.1870 I agree with you on the story, but honestly the depth of the melee combat carries it hard enough for me to like it more than 1. I really really enjoy fighting games and labbing combos (I’m not great at fighting games but I am an enthusiast) so this games combat scratches a special itch that for me. I do remember levels in 1 being a lot more interesting but the system mechanics are definitely better here in Nioh 2. I would compare these 2 to let’s say kingdom hearts 1 and 2 2 definitely has a smoother combat experience but is super lacking in world exploration where as combat in kingdom hearts 1 is a lot more grounded and worlds truly feel like something to be discovered

@Trugrim ye i guess its just personal preference i just cant get over the atmosphere even if it has good combat. I mean i enjoyed the combat very much but it wasnt enough for me. Just played nioh 1 again and it feels just as great. Idk but cant deny nioh 2 is a good game in general just not for me. :)

@Trugrim and in my personal preference i like the combat even more in 1 it feels more action heavy than in 2.

Wish I did I know there are people who are passionate about the games story (some guy got mad at me for this video for spoiling the bosses) but I just can’t seem to care about Hide and their crew

@@bryton1920 I watched the video back to see what you may have been talking about. There is more depth to using ki then just using your ki pulse to get the maximum amount of ki back. A lot of the times in the video I am ki pulsing to either A.) attack faster to keep up ki pressure on the enemy or B.) do another action quicker such as guard or doge. Don’t claim to be a pro, but the irony of you not seeing that is kinda of funny

@@Trugrim I read back my comment and I'm pretty disgusted, I was a lot ruder to you than I should have been so that's a mistake on my part. I'm sorry about that. I would love to chat more about it, I think I have pointers I could share with you! I understand what you mean about ki pressure and clipping your ki pulse to lead to quicker actions to be aggressive. I used to play like that too and I think it made me worse because I realized that it came from a fear of the enemy reacting to me and killing me suddenly. I have many, many hours in the game, and I still play it just casually for fun to this day. There's a lot of stuff I've picked up on that I don't see in any youtube videos, and I often get tips vids in my UA-cam feed for Nioh 2 and I watch them out of curiosity to see if anyone else notices the things that I do. Maybe that sounds a bit pretentious but I would strongly argue that the majority of people who play this game, especially the people I see on UA-cam, do not actually understand how to play Nioh 2, and you can see it in the way they manage their ki and how fast they play. Nioh 2 is an absolutely beautiful masterpiece of a game, and what makes it so beautiful is exactly what you don't see on UA-cam. It's a lot to talk about on a UA-cam comment but if you want to swap me your discord, if you even still play Nioh 2 or you're curious to talk more about it, I would love to talk to you in DM and share with you what I know about it :) Again, really sorry about my comment. It came across ruder than it should've, and I think for me it comes from a place of seeing the same types of tips and advice that UA-camrs give new players, and it more often than not can result in players cheesing the game, or playing it in a way that leads to beating the game rather than actually learning it so well that you can play it forever and never lose the fun. @ as far as your apology goes, you’re fine. You’re passionate and that’s a good thing although it did leave me feeling pretty defensive at first I won’t lie, it’s just conversation but I appreciate your open vulnerability to say “hey I didn’t like how I acted” I on the other hand don’t like how I instantly got defensive as well so let’s just call it even. As far as everything else you’re talking about I think it just appears to me that you understand the game differently than most people do. I don’t necessarily think playing the game fast or slow is wrong and while my tips may seem generic it was just a little passion piece as this game feels overwhelming to new players. I had a cousin I wanted to get into the game so that led to this video. It’s a “cheesy” strategy and pretty straightforward but it’s something to rely on while you learn the game. It also lends itself to a RELIABLE strategy of finding moves that devastate Ki and keep up on the pressure. I think cheesing the game is how MOST people play the game and beat it. Whoever wants to explore the game after and find out its mechanics will do so as they understand the game better. The game (for most people) kinda piles on all these mechanics that don’t make sense by themselves and I’ve heard and seen many people drop the game based on that. The game deserves to be beaten even if you don’t want to be a comboing savant or in your case it seems you like to control the battle field with excellent ki control. I personally learned the game by taking a super slow approach but quickly found that I personally like comboing a lot and doing risky things. I also played a lot with high courage and the courage 150 bonus for a long time to keep up the pressure for my style of play. It is a common way to play the game, but the beauty is the combos look different for everyone and that’s the part I like the most. It seems like you have a unique view on the game though and you’re very passionate I seriously SERIOUSLY consider that you try to put those in a video or some sort of medium for the world to see. As they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like the idea of freedom and flow in combat and I express that through constantly canceling my movements with more movement be it yokai counter, yokai abilities or item canceling. My favorite tech is probably the dash cancel as it can lead to some pretty fun movement . The fighting games I tend to play don’t limit what you do in a given moveset TOO much of course too much freedom and you kinda just get flat out broken mess. Not a fan of street fighter at at a competitive level as canceling moves there’s often special rules and conditions for each cancel. Same thing with mortal kombat (the newest one) there’s just a lack of options. My discord is grimmoura or grimmoura. Idk how discord works I hardly use it lol.

@@odkjqedlkd yeah the weapon balance in this game is very bizarre There is a super awesome update that’s for pc though that fixes the game. It’s official, but for whatever reason it’s not available to console. The giant sword weapons are the easy route for sure! Makes the game super easy. Kinda of annoying that you have to be with a creed to interact with black smith’s and such but no eh it makes the game interesting

It is a fun game but man i understand. before i got a ps5 i had a gaming laptop that ran nioh a little better so i swapped over. problem was i got burnt out of the grind aftrer a while and once i got a ps5 i havent even touched that save file so I understand completley man

@ yes the grind is very real must’ve fought the ninja gaiden dude 100+ times to get his stuff ntm the final boss for his dual sword bp I finished the awakening yesterday so got a long road ahead

@ grind is tough but once you get to those later segments and have all the good loot it’s very easy, my problem with that set up is that once the grinding becomes easy it’s almost pointless to play the game at that point unless you just really like experimenting with builds. I think the building in the game is interesting enough, but could you imagine nioh 2, but they update the game pretty frequently for new challenges and such. The limits of the game would be pushed far more as the community would be more active. While there’s tons of fun stuff to do in nioh the game is not really in a lively state so it’s kind of stale due to no new nioh or content unfortunately. Love the game but the grinding is not a perfect system and I’m not really a fan

@ that’s usually what happens when companies expand or move to something else that can make more money than the last while we the gamers see 5 different new games and they all come out same time and we want atleast 3 out of the 5 and some have seasons move within a month if not lesser time restraint for “exclusive” items that make ur character go from hobos to anything better than rags when in reality ur better off buying a bundle for the same price bcuz they always will put quality effort in a 1 to 3 item pack for 20 than they will 20 to 100 levels as they say “exclusively” that drives u to spend spend spend meanwhile most of us getting ready to have a heart attack and go bankrupt all while tryna keep up with “fun” and “relaxing” and while tryna work provide for themselves let alone Ik there’s family guys out there I’m one of them it’s too much to keep up with that’s y I’ve been going back to a different gaming avenue for myself bcuz like u said it can get easy but it also has many levels similar to a souls game and I do love challenge or else I get bored for sure but I also over the years developed a sense of when my body or emotions is in a discomfort for a reason I gotta kick it to the curb mine was battle royal type games for me definitely stressful and I’m pretty chill person but certain situations and things about the game itself sometimes I just wanna lose it or just feel completely disappointed lol

@ feeling that family guy part you said just had a daughter on Monday. She’s such an angel and a blessing, but yeah you gotta be real selective about when and how you game. Sometimes that new game looks really cool, but do you care enough and have enough time to sacrifice to learn it the way you want to? A lot of games it takes time to actually get satisfaction out of and it can be tough especially when most companies wanna bleed you dry. Have a GameCube and a modded Wii the revisit simple games when I know I just wanna have fun for the sake of having fun not necessarily learning in depth how to “get good” at a game. I know some people think retro games suck but I stand on a firm stance that there are some classics that can’t be beat (soul calibur 2 for example is in a lot of peoples minds the most fluid of the games) Mario kart double dash still holds up and if I’m playing a Mario Kart alone that’s the one I wanna play because the AI is so hostile. If you’re unfamiliar the AI targets you directly because they want you to lose. They don’t give 2 shits about winning at all they just wanna hit you with stuff and while that can seem frustrating or infuriating to some people I think it adds a level of challenge. It ramps up the higher CCs you go and on 150 (max) and on 50cc you can’t even noticed that’s how they’re programmed cus they’re push overs

@@Lynv such a fun game, but it’s definitely not for everyone. I have put friends on the game, but they usually don’t beat it, and if they do they never do the new game plus which is fair. If the combat doesn’t speak to you or you don’t enjoy making builds, there’s no real reason to keep playing

@Trugrim Understandable. My first 70 hours I treat it like Souls games, just dodge and wait for opening. Tbh its not really fun and very frustrated because the mobs often one shot you. Until I watched some montage of players on UA-cam showing the stance mechanics. Completely hook after that.

@ yes there’s in depth video out there that’s like an hour long just explaining awesome tech you can pull off in this game. I love fighting games, but my internet has never been good enough to compete consistently online. Nioh comes in with this awesome complex move sets and the ability to express your player creativity in so many ways that it just scratches that itch for me!

@@twilight_mourner1865 yeah! I think once you understand how to have fun with the combat building becomes so coo! There’s so many build ideas I’ve crafted in my head that I haven’t FULLY brought to life yet as it feels the combinations are almost infinite. Of course there are the MOST optimal builds but even the fun builds are really good

@@hue_lord_4208 this is the game that always feels so refreshing to come back to after a hiatus. My bigger problem when I play this game is im constantly switching my build and what I want to focus on. I did get a spear that scales with dex so I was running spear, kurasarigama, but I just love using the swords and the dual swords a lot. Odachis move set also feels amazing so I just have a hard time sticking to one weapon so I’m constantly switching it up as I’ve come to enjoy every weapon

I played monster hunter world and it just never grabbed me. Maybe I should give the franchise a shot though I love the concept. Just hated how weird the coop system was in world seemed to water down the flow of the game when I was trying to play it with a friend.

@Trugrim Yeah most people don't like it on first try, it took me 3 tries for it to click. I recommend trying all the weapons until you find one that works for you - also watxh some tutorials on how to use the weapons on UA-cam cause the game does a terrible job at explaining the complexity of them tbh - and you can play solo if you'd prefer, I tend to fight each monster solo rhe first time round and subsequently to improve my skill, but often join other people's Hunts when I'm farming for monster parts

@@jamielee5695 thank you. I will keep this in mind. I got somewhat far but I was constantly switching weapons and constantly needing to farm for said weapon class. It got really frustrating for me. I was also a way different gamer when I did get it though so I’ll download it when I get out of college. It was fun when it did get hype I just felt I didn’t get how the actual loop of the game was supposed to feel. I also heard often that you needed to be in a group to deal with monsters from somewhere and I never questioned that. I believe I left off using the hammer but I started with the daggers

@Trugrim I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, especially with Wilds out in February. The hammer is very fun, if youre able to position yourself to hit the head regularly with that thing you'll get a lot of KOs. And nah the game scales to however many people are in the hunt, so you can play it whichever way you prefer. I personally believe solo is the best to way to learn a monsters moveset, when to counter, where to position yourself etc. I actually find it harder with 3 other players sometimes cause I find the monster less predictable, but it's a lot of fun with friends and there can be some funny situations. How do you prefer to play action games, generally? I might be able to recommend you a weapon based on playstyle

@@jamielee5695 usually I like getting in and out quickly or something that has a lot of mobility but sometimes I like having to commit to big punishing attacks it really just depends on how I’m feeling lol. In nioh in particular my favorite combo is the sword and dual sword simply for the unsheathe abilities you can use and the combos are the most satisfying to me

@@SpaceCowboy94 if I’m being honest I hardly ever pay attention to story in games like these. Stuff like god of war and such I feel the story is more important than the combat. I couldn’t explain the plot of nioh 2 to you if I tried my hardest.

@@kingmarshall5472 fun game once you get in the groove. It does feel clunky at times and my experience with the game I was constantly deleting it and downloading it again on my ps4. Eventually it stuck and now I visit it at least once a month to just combo fools

@@F34RGH0ST once you unlock more abilities and such it becomes a breeze! There are a couple of hurdles in the game but with perseverance they can all be overcome

@@F34RGH0ST dont be afraid to take breaks. I think the first time i beat the game it took many breaks over the course of a year and a half or so but once it clicked it became so satisfying!

@@fathiizzan I disagree. I feel like dream of the demon is up is there for you if you enjoy creating builds or saucing on enemies. Enemies with not so big health bars end up dying too quick for you to do anything cool. If you get your build right it doesn’t really matter how big their health bar is if you’re using all aspects of the game like confusion, guardian spirt talisman and the like It’s not a perfect mode and I wish endgame content was cooler than what it was though. Maybe you just got tired of fighting the same stuff which is fair. I honestly have never ran through multiple playthroughs of the game more than a handful of times as this game is kind of a game I have on rotation but I’m never actually playing it consistently because playing the same missions again or doing the same underworld missions is really tedious to me, but when I’m craving good combat I turn it on. Maybe a raid boss mode with friends or something would be cool, as I feel like the coop mechanic kind of breaks the game and makes it far too easy
