Do you have a update on planner
Coal mining with sophisticated tools and it's very cool
Sweet power! Nice sund!
What miner was this
I think the dog done figure it out, as long as I don't get dognaious with that { ~~~ } Cat, and don't bark at those noisy neighbors um good to go, man it would be delightful iffen I could eat more table scraps.
I remember these beasts. You only used it if the downslope on the coal seam and overlying strata were consistent. Also, couldn't use them if you intercepted the aquifer layer. Incredibly expensive to set up and pay for unless you had a really high quality coal.
"thank you trump" as you burn more coal using this monstrosity than you dig out🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Still along the bord and pillar method
What are they actually doing
nothing apparently
We had a truck driver killed because of a highwall
I worked on one for 3 years its a coal grabbing machine but it a very dangerous job.fola coal mined alot of coal with it we had 2 of them.god bless our coal miners
LOL GOD is certainly busy.Blessing your miners your troops your cops etc etc etc
Interesting set up.
Great video! I’ve been to Amish country in Lancaster, PA in their homes and farm. Great atmosphere! We have local Amish/Mennonite nearby, really nice folks. I’ve checked out your channel great content.
Great video, Track Drive System with GFT Planetary very suitable to move/relocate the 280 mTon miner...
Important to set bottom point and top point correct at beginning of entry the seam, leave some coal at top to minimize rock fall and have a smooth beginning od making the drive and direction.
Proud to be one of the inventors of this machines (SHM, Terex, Bucyrus, Cat and Gainwell Types).
there is one for sale by me with a Mitsu diesel in it. They look like a ton of fun!
I have a blast with mine. I like working on it and just don’t get enough time to drive it around much.
very cool man. I gotta say, if someone drew this machine out on a napkin with those augers strung together like that. I would have said no way that would ever work. LOL But look at it go!
Why so for from the wall ?.
The corner of the wall wasn’t the best in the world and didn’t want to get anyone close to it. Keep people safe. Machinery can be fixed or replaced.
just wondering, did you get the mower manual, handed down, or how do you know what model exactly. 27 v and the 27 va I think the 25V had a steel rear wheel wonder where or if they label it somewhere
I have the original manual that was handed down to me from the original purchaser.
woww… ❤❤❤
If you don't mind commenting,, what are you doing with the shavings? You said you pulled out the leaves because you wanted to save the shavings... I have not started planing yet, but, I can see there will be lots and lots of shavings..So, what are you doing or planning to do with them? Maybe it's a volume project and solves a lot of our headaches.. Ha..Ha..
I saved a bag full to make fire starters and to put around plants in my garden. Turned out to be more than I wanted so I scattered them across open fields.
@@halfwayfarmsandoutdoors3550 Ha.. Yea.. Fire Starters and Fire Logs, but, like you said... That's a lot of shavings.. Ha... If you ever figure out something you can sell, or market, do a video. It should get lots and lots of hits.. I have even thought about investing in a machine to make pellets.. Ha.. Cheers!! Thanks for the reply.
It dhould have came with an allen wrench tool along with the magnets to remove the blades there's a spot where where they both are stored on the back of the machine
I second what was said below. Need to ouch those frames together asap. You will have bur comb everywhere making it difficult to view your frames. The chances of crushing your queen go through the roof. That pollen patty needs to be right on top of the bees don’t leave it off to the side. I would also feed until they draw out the whole 10 frames. No reason not to. Good luck!
Welcome new-ish beekeeper! A couple tips for you. Take out an outside frame first so you can make room to remove frames without risk of rolling bees. And push those frames together. They are designed to the proper bee space for brood. The reason you got burr comb was the extra space caused by the queen cage. If you leave space the bees will propolise between and itll be hard to get frames out and to fit back in later on. Good luck! You are on your way! I subbed you so i can watch your journey.
Thanks for subbing and thanks for the info!!!! The next time I'm in there I will do that.
where was this miner running?
The video was made in Alabama but is not there anymore.
I've got a 1959 CJ5 as well, would it be similar to change the oil in it?
Yes, I believe so if it has the same engine of course.
Love the video. Great CJ5. I've got a '59 that's been in the family since new. I'm hoping to have the resto finished this summer. If you get a chance, could you show how you've got the rear seat mounted to the floor?
I will very soon. Finally getting warmer so I can get it out.
And when the mountain sits down on it, call us over from the deep mine to go in after it
Thinking about building my own cabinets, and the more I'm researching the more I realize a planer is going to be necessary to get professional results.
Yes, they are very handy!!
Willing to bet that was a return item because it was broken and they just put it back on the shelf to resale it😮
I was wondering how y’all control ventilation and explosions with the Highwall miner
The miner has 2 methane detectors on it that will shut it down if levels rise just like underground. Then a large air compressor is used to push fresh air back across the cutter head via a large air line connected to the miner.
Well done, people need to see this... Thanks for taking the time to post it.
If it was American white the planner handled it well, I've used both red and white , it was shipped over here in the 20s 30s to make furniture, I was going to tell you off for putting the planks through in the same place ,as this will cause uneven wear on the blade , but you did at the end but them in different places 🙂 next lesson putting new blades in the cutter block ( a job i hated) look like you shall get your new fence😁, 👍
Good job 👍
Thanks!! Hope to have more but been very busy at work.
Those auger boxes look like the old METEC boxes that we worked on at Meltco W&S Welding back in the late 80's
Yes, same thing
New subscriber. Well done video
Thanks for the sub!
Nice place. New sub here. How many acres do you own?
About 170 acres.
Wow. That’s great
Dude! Talk to us! You know all about what is taking place and you don't say a word? Uhmm? Best of luck, but you might want to ponder a change to your format.
Not sure if you have noticed or not but this is the first few videos I’ve put up on YT. I do take in constructive criticism and am trying to explain things more in newer videos.
High wall miner operator keeps raising the cutter head into the rock above the coal seem. Don't!
It was going to fall anyways and is better to go ahead and knock it down to chew it up and send it
so this is where all those clinkers came from.
Boring
Yeah dunno about this highwall mining stuff. I worked for a company here in Australia that bought the archveyor system off arch industries in the USA & it had more problems that what it was worth.
your front end looader operator need to practice when his tire get close to the machine so he ca do a scraspe off of coal in stead of a flat drag which is hard on the machine.
Would like to see other end of machine if possible, thanks. Any stats ( tons per hr, fuel usage, etc) w/also be welcomed.
That’s a lot of work for that little return 😂
this runs 24 hours a day, two 12 hour shifts. It only rests for a few minutes between shifts, one push is 20 feet. In the right seam a beam can be pushed in 5 minutes. So you add ip the math, thats alot of coal. 2 spreads and 1 blasting crew can barely keep enough wall open for one of these, and that's letting the miner crew off weekends and us working Saturdays
@@RandomGameFun show us more! Good clip.
Love the old CJ. :Looks all original, 6 volt, vacuum wipers and all
It is original. I actually had to use the wiper the other day. Got caught out during shower. I did have to replace the tub since the old one was beyond repair. The hood and fenders are original though.
That was strange, but really neat. I have never seen such a machine. Does each section have its own flex track umbilical in it, that needs connected, each time you add a section, or is that on a huge wound up spool and the flex track just lays in each troth of each section?... Either way, this was cool to see.
It’s all on the huge reel and lays in a trough as it goes in and rolls back up when coming out of the hole.
@@halfwayfarmsandoutdoors3550 Roger that.. that sounds more effective... I just couldn't imagine the design having male-female hydraulic and possibly electrical connections at every joint.. the auger's seemed pretty self explained with the female hex drive at the end, to transfer the rotation to the already laid out sections. Either way. This was neat. I appreciate your time, and also apologize for asking what is very likely common knowledge, but, I have never seen such a machine the size of a house, in fact, it looks like it is bigger then my house, lol. Last question, I kindly ask. When this machine is right up side of the wall, and this machine starts feeding the full length of these sections/auger conveyer systems far underneath, isn't there a worry of the wall falling over on top of the machine or is that to be expected and the machine can handle such pressure of a falling wall? As soon as I get done with my business trip and have a moment, I am so intrigued by this, I want to look into these further. Is there many BRAND NAMES of these or is these the only one, kinda like the steam shovels that work 24/7 and run for decades?
This particular machine was made by Superior Highwall Miners who got acquired by Caterpillar who later decided to stop making them. There is another company that makes a different version and it goes deeper and a lot quicker. They are Eagle Highwall Mining Systems. addcarsystems.com/
waste of time
It made pretty good money in this pit alone!!

long wall mining seems more efficient,
It is. But this is one of the most efficient ways on the surface with no one underground and no expense underground.
Is it like a bridge system. I think Fletcher had instead of using buggies to the feeder it used a set of conveyors.
