I MAKE A BRACELET FROM SODALITE
I'm beginning to really like Sodalite. It's a softer rock so you have to be careful when cabbing. I love the blue color!. There's not a whole lot of blue rocks out there.

    Are the smaller pieces good for final stage polishing? Has anyone tried it on resin after it's been tumbled first?

    Hi there!! I'm also from Sault Ste. Marie. I've always loved rocks, but have never been a hardcore hounder. I most recently received a rock tumbler myself! I am a crafter at heart, so I make jewelry, wire wrap, crochet, and knit. I'm always interested in looking at pretty rocks, and getting tips for how to tumble and polish rocks. Would love to network with you and your wife for some tumbling/polishing tips. :) I mostly look for pretties around lake superior, but my aunt also lives on lake huron, so I get to hunt for pudding stones there as well. Her shoreline is near littered with them!

      That's awesome, I'm sure we can help you out! Puddingstones are great for tumbling. Well, most of them. I've had a few that wouldn't tumble. I guess I should make a video with my new tumbler lol.

    Highland Park......love what these brothers are doing. I'm interested because like you I'm also in Ontario. Did you order directly from Highland Park or from someone in Ontario. What's the price of the one you bought with Cdn dollars and if from HP how much was shipping. I'd like to downsize and replace (sell) my Lortones and Harbour Freight tumbler. I'd like to get one of their 2x3lb units.

    Supposed to be a big snow storm on the way today in Northern Ontario. Perhaps, the best rocks are a few feet out in the water and won't be brought up to the rock beach for a few years. The boat horns in the background were amusingly timed as intense suspense music to your responses. Lol- "The first snow of the season...horn blares". Very cool sun dog in the sky. Still neat to see what's inside those rocks. You never look at a rock the same way when you see them out in the wild, after cutting a few open to reveal the curiosities inside.

  • @largent45

    Well that was a huge show for just one company to be putting on! And you got some screaming deals on those agates you bought! Those are really pretty and there is plenty of the agate to make several cuts to both sides! And still have the end cuts left to cab with! Awesome deals on those! The best buys in the whole show, bar none! Thanks for walking that entire show and showing it all to us ! They really did have some beautiful items there but those agate pairs were the best buys for the money! Thanks Ric and Penny! ❤

    Hi, thanks for the video. I’ve got a slightly different HP model, but similar set up with two bearings and wheels left and right side with polishing disk at end. I want to replace the old carborundum wheels as wheel. Am I right thinking that you have to pull the whole shaft out and remove everything from the left side to get to them? Or did you do it from the right side by taking off the polishing wheel ? Were the bearings easy to slide the shaft thru? Any tips would be appreciated. I’d like to see a quick video update on your refurbishment too. Thanks again.

    • @RockAndRollRockhound
      @RockAndRollRockhound 2 місяці тому

      Between the 1st left wheel and the rest, there's a pillow block bearing. So everything has to come off from the right side. At least that's how I did it. Best of luck on restoring your machine!!

    • @tedhendy1325
      @tedhendy1325 2 місяці тому

      @RockAndRollRockhound hi, thanks for the reply. I eventually did take it all off from the right. It just needes a little extra love to break a few things loose and my cut off wheel to free the screws on the polishing wheel hood and a couple on the bottom bin. But it's amazing what great shape it is in for being 50-60 years old. New wheels from the cabking Black Friday deal are waiting for me to get home and slide on. Thanks again. Tes
