It's really sad Kotone is the biggest example of "the most humble hearts are the ones with the hardest inner pains, but enduring the mental road alone." I don't believe she is better than Mokato, they are both amazing examples of depression. It's sad to see characters who we are supposed to take motivation and inspiration from, but no. Instead people would rather be all hateful. Just because she handles the concept of this beautiful game different.

Its interesting that Makoto's and Kotone's characters show the greatest similarity to Takaya himself than anyone in SEES

Difference in types of depression Makoto is seperated from the pack until he is forced to interact and form connections. Kotone is in the center but never attaches to the group until she's forced.

I think you're misunderstanding the demibeasts. Subaru had a moment against them first with Priscilla who commented on their creator - in fact Subaru realises these were initially guards killed very eagly when the cult started attacking, who then appeared as some blood surrounding weird metallic egg shapes when they first saw Capella. They are NOT MOB ENEMIES!!!!! They're creatures it's hard to fight because they're so pitiful. All of them have forms with things like lack of eyes or mouths or ears or whatever else ever existing, as well as bodies seemingly mashing organic and inorganic stuff together with swords sticking out of them. They're basically only fighting because the things Capella turned them into are constantly in pain, they don't have logic or self preservation or anything and Priscilla was mercy killing them while Subaru first didn't know and was kinda weak and battered. BUT when Subaru was running from them again and met Julius, he was trying to fight without killing them because of knowing what they are and Julius had no idea so killed them when Subaru was about to be attacked. You're treating them as a significant part of the cult's arsenal when it's just Capella fucking with them by forcing them to also put down former Pristellan civilians from their misery. The demibeasts are barely a threat unless you're a Pristellan civilian who can't fight or wounded or something.

Ok I know the novels have some issues BUT do not give them the same flack as crunchyroll pleeeeease 😭😭😭 crunchyroll is underpaying AND hyping up using ai translations, those sub errors have been consistent as hell compared with the actual novels, where people catch some glaring issue in one out of 270 pages(ie probably as much japanese as it'd take 8 episodes to cover with sub equivalent since of course they don't translate more than dialogue). (Also I don't even care about the schedule because right now I'm finally getting side story collections as well as main ones. Arc 7 let's gooooo) Japanese is an extremely difficult language to translate to English, Tappei includes a fair amount of puns, foreshadowing many novels ahead mean translators have to reference back a lot for consistent localisation of stuff like names or less important sounding terms at first when they become very important ten novels later, and the prose is pretty elaborate compared with most light novels I'm aware of. It SHOULD be given lots of time to translate lol.

I like Subaru but understand how some dislike him and still like the show. I've watched 'The Penguin'. I hate the penguin, but I love the show. You can dislike the character of the protagonist and still enjoy the drama, action, worldbuilding, and intrigue of the show

Re zero is essentially a character driven story. The world, story and all are secondary to how fucking good the characters are. Subaru is one of the best protagonists and such a good analysis of the ideas of masculinity, shut ins with genuine progressions on his growth.

FEMC was my first route and I just feel it is better Shinjiro being in a coma than dying, if someone dies at the end of the day you know you wont see them again but if someones in a coma you feel uncertain, you don't know future and in my opinion Shinji finally waking up but Kotone being dead by the time he does can lead to his resolution. IT MAKES ME SO SAD PEOPLE JUST USE SHINJI AS haha he dies and helps ken and akihiko HES A PERSON, HE CAN ALSO BE HAPPY!!

Tbh I'm personally not a big fan of either Shinji or Chidori survivng. And I wish Shinji's fate was left open for interpratation in Kotone's route.

Shinjiro is much more than just a plot device for Ken and Akihiko to get their Ultimate Persona As are Yukari and Mitsuru's father's and Chidori. Someone else's death is the ultimate reminder that you are mortal as well, but someone doesn't necessarily need to die for that to happen, near death works just as well, and even considering all we know Shinjiro is living on borrowed time, for how long, we may never know. Unlike all the other party members, we never get to see Shinjiro's resolution. But I wholeheartedly believe that he would have achieved this, if things had continued on in a FEMC Answer route. Kotone gave him more time for his hourglass, he thought he was destined for death, and then comes along some spunky auburn haired tomboy, to flip his entire world upside down. How would one react in his situation, would he still covet it, or would he live his life to the best of his ability? Memento Mori, Carpe Diem.

"dont like Subaru" Subaru is designed to be optimistic and cringe.

As someone who really isn't bothered by Shinjiro survival and agree that saving his life doesn't affect the themes of the game, Chidori and Shinjiro revivals are very different avenues. Chidori's survival causes NO CHANGES in gameplay and in fact, wastes an entire day of January that you could use for something else. Shinjiro's survival grants you a Rank 10 EXP bonus, an Ultimate Persona and is a requiment for Orpheus Telos. His survival is WAY less optional then Chidori because saving him benefits you, unlike Chidori. If his Rank 10 switched places with his Romance event, his optional saving would be much better. That's an argument I never see people make because as you said they are more interested in invalidating Femc's route. That should be main criticism when it comes to saving Shinjiro. It's pretty much NOT optional.

Look, i’ve played the game both male and female route. I like kotone a lot, but i think she is just positive and fine after all, there is nothing in the game that let me think all of that stuff about her hide “depression”

As a person who had previously smiled through a depression. Kotone is accurate. If you or somebody else you know are suffering through depression. Try to get help.

The Re:Zero world does not have the same stars and constellations as Earth. In fact, an overarching mystery of the story is why the Witches are aware of the stars and constellations of our world, and why the Sin Archbishops are named after them. The scene in the OVA was in fact to emphasize the point that they’re different.

it isn't a spoiler, but in arc 6 Subaru ponders if the re zero world is just earth extremely far into the future, where stars have moved and any traces of modern civilization have faded. also in memory snow he tries to find "Subaru" or the constellation of pleadies in the sky but fails since all the stars are different

I think you had a bit of an oopsie with the OVA scene as Beatrice correcting Subaru shows that they do not share our stars at all. Subaru was pointing the stars out that *should* be there if it was our Sky but aren't there. As for the flat Earth I believe it has to do with Satella consuming half the world. As for the connections to Earth it must have something to do with the Door in the forest. Pandora and Echidna know information about Earth that should be unknown to them. Pandora knowing about Constellations that don't exist in her World aswell as Echidna knowing the English language, Shakespeare and Sharlock Holmes being her favorite book. There's also the fact Metia's were originally called Meteors...by Echidna.

As a novel reader, the best theory I have it that the "world" is a giant floating island, and that the rest of the world is underneath them.

4:54 The entire point of the memory snow scene is to show that the stars arent the same in re:zero world, he tries time and time again to point out the stars and fails, so i dont see how you can conclude the stars are the same from that scene.
