What’s happening with shoe companies now in skateboarding industry? Es’ now Lakai. Who’s next? Who’s buying Osiris D3s? I ain’t seen anyone wear them since early 2000s so that’s a waste to keep making when it ain’t popular. I’ve never bought Cariuma and never will. Because it ain’t cupsole. I’ve been a fan of NikeSB since release and I don’t doubt the company to be legit skater made. The suede, the leather, the rubber sole are mostly good quality materials. I’ve had a few pairs of es’ Accel slims and I like them but they are a thin shoe. The suede wears down quick, the rubber sole wears down quick and heel with way I walk so 400rubber isn’t for me. I’ve had many many many pairs of SB Dunks and the materials don’t wear down so quick and the rubber sole doesn’t wear down at all I’ve noticed. It’s not slippy on board. I got some Jordan black cats I don’t skate but man the rubber sole is slippy and wears down at heel with way I walk. I would like to be part of a shoe company and demand it be 1000% skate shoe. Not half skate shoe. Lace protectors? Heel protection and not a thin STI gay insole. Nike zoom insole is better but not 100% insole. Put a FP insole and it’s 100% a skate shoe. I’ve had Janoski Vulcs and they good for flips but not my feeling as I love cupsole as I’m a 2000s OG. I skated emericas hard when young I was part of the PD krew Baker bootleg krew. Elissa Steamer is my wife.

i hate to see the original owners lose the company, but id still much rather buy from lakai than the giant sports shoe corporations like nike. if fewer people did that before, lakai might not have had to be sold

I stand by this. Luis has a huge platform. People are haters, he blew up Lamont, he blew up Kyonosuke, he blew up Japan. This dude has a track record. There’s a reason why he went from UA-camr to accepted by the core community (thrasher). Not too many people have actually made that transition.

I went on a trip to LA back in 2015, skated with a bunch of pros and ams on our trip which was super cool, one of the days we were at Stoner and I saw Bastien being interviewed on camera, out of all of the pros and ams we skated with, being just in the presence of Bastien made me GEEK OUT. They were taking a little break in between setups of their interview and I skated over to him to fan out and congratulate him on getting on Primitive(it was pretty fresh news at the time). He was SO COOL, and just kept giving me prayer signs 🙏🙏🙏 haha it was rad. Definitely not a skater I thought I would ever meet and I’ll never forget that moment. So humble, and just an all around nice dude that appreciates his fans
