Hmmm... Check your Mac display settings and make sure your virtual screen is arranged so it is between your Main Display and iPad display. That would address any LEFT-RIGHT reverse issues. But you said your cursor is reversed UP-DOWN? Does the cursor appear upside down on the iPad?

You can get Marketplace insurance even if you have access to insurance through your employer. However, you probably won't be eligible for premium tax credits unless your employer-provided insurance doesn't meet the standards of being "affordable." I'm not sure how they calculate this. But $1,000 a month in insurance premiums doesn't sound very affordable to me... So maybe you're in luck. Here is an article I found with a little more information: www.healthcare.gov/have-job-based-coverage/ You might also want to consider getting your kids on CHIP. Then, whether you get insurance through the marketplace or through your employer, you would just need coverage for you (or you + your spouse) and drop your premium a bit.

​@SelfEmploymentSidekick we decided to take the jump. We were approved. From face value, everything appears to be the same, if not better. My maximum out of pocket is 7k lower and 50 dollar co pay. I had no other choice. Financially I was drowning. Had about 150 every couple weeks for groceries and gas and other essentials. Going with healtcare.gov, I am saving 700 dollars a month. It just feels too good to be true. I'm so used to being abused by the system.

Yes, that's the problem that I was able to solve by using Better Display. There is a setting that allows you to mirror flip/reverse the content on your iPad, so when it's reflected in the teleprompter you are able to read it.

However I followed it as per my MacBook and iPad names. I see three displays 1. My Mac Pro 2. Virtual display and 3. iPad. It works as as a side additional screen, it completely mirror MacBook exactly looking like Mac pro on iPad however I’m not getting the mirror flipping of letters and content of Mac Pro screen to be reflected on my teleprompters glass display. You are also not showing the end result on iPad so that I can confirm if we both of us are expecting the same output or not. I wish I could talk to you, I’m located in NJ

@@SelfEmploymentSidekick I tried it several time, it has mirror of Mac, it can extend MacBook screen but not giving mirror flip option. I got this based on your UA-cam video, but I'm not able to achieve mirror flip but mirroring of MacBook screen is possible.

One thing to check is that your Mac display settings have your iPad/Sidecar display set to "Use as a separate display." If it's set to "Mirror" it won't work correctly. I'm not sure about software solutions that work with PC. I've heard about AirDroid Cast as a possible option, but haven't personally tested it.

Glad it was helpful! I'd say if you already have an iPad, and you want the flexibility of using it as a display or a tablet; jump on a Prime Day deal and pick up an inexpensive teleprompter. But the Elgato Prompter does look really nice, and is a much simpler (and smaller/sleeker) setup. If you have the budget, and you don't need a huge display, I'd probably spring for that option. iPad/teleprompter: flexible, less-expensive, larger display, but a bit more complicated Elgato: simple, stable, smaller (pro or con), but more expensive

@@SelfEmploymentSidekick Okay, interesting. You've got my wheels turning now! I actually don't have an iPad but can pick up a 9th gen pretty cheap. I guess I'm leaning a tad in glide gear tmp100 + iPad direction b/c 1.) lots of teleprompter app choices 2.) not tethered to MacBook all the time. Elgato is pretty slick however like you say....

That's a good point. An iPad let's you go stand-alone. If you do anything on location, away from your computer, you can still run a your teleprompter directly on your iPad.

I haven't tested it with Sonoma 14.5, but yes - the end result is a mirrored display you can read on the teleprompter. I have my computer set up to use the teleprompter as a separate display (typically dedicated for video calls) so I can continue to use my main display for other apps. But I'm pretty sure there's a way to mirror/duplicate your main display onto the iPad/teleprompter if that's your goal. As in, using an Android tablet instead of an iPad? I'm sure there is something out there. Are you using a PC or a Mac?

I'm not sure there are any options for what I'm looking to do. I would like to use my tablet as a camera monitor and then be able to flip the output to use in a teleprompter. I'm looking for a way to do this without using a computer, because I will not be near a computer when filming.

Gotcha. So you're not mirroring content from a computer to your tablet. We just need to mirror-flip the tablet display, correct? If you are using this simply as a traditional teleprompter (for reading a script) there are dedicated teleprompter apps that will mirror flip the and auto-scroll the text. I dunno, I'll poke around and let you know if I find anything.

Ugh. Sorry to hear that! Do you know why you aren't qualified for CHIP? Earlier this year, when my family was applying to renew our coverage, they disapproved us as well. But it was because some documentation I needed to provide got lost in the mail. Thankfully they were able to get that sorted out. Maybe it's a paperwork snafu that can get fixed?

😔 Yeah, the application process for any government program is going to be SUPER frustrating. Fortunately, it sounds like it's just a matter of getting the paperwork figured out. Most likely you are qualified for CHIP, but they need to figure out how much financial assistance you are eligible for, and if your past medical expenses are able to be covered. Stick with it! It's a headache to apply, but it's a very valuable program.

In short, Marketplace plans are eligible for premium tax credits that could bring the cost down depending on your income and family size. Also, all Marketplace plans must be ACA-compliant (the main perk here is they cannot deny you coverage or charge you more if you have a pre-existing condition). Many health insurance companies privately offer plans that are identical to what you'd find on the Marketplace. But they may also offer more affordable options - they'd wouldn't cover as much, but if you're relatively healthy and don't have a pre-existing health condition, it might be a good fit. A health insurance broker/advisor would be able to help you evaluate the best options for your situation.

Domains providers typically don't include email. But they might offer email accounts as an add-on. Web hosting companies like Hostinger will often include some level of email hosting with their plans.

The annual report requirement doesn't go into effect until 2025, so you should be good this year. You should also receive a letter from the state about 2 months ahead of the due date to remind you if and when you need to file the report. From pa.gov: "The Department of State will mail notice to the registered office address of each association required to make an annual report at least two months prior to the respective deadline, reminding it of the need to make an annual report."

Another commenter just tipped me off that if your phone is running Android 14, you just have to plug it into your computer via USB and select to use it as a webcam. If the notification/option doesn't pop up right away, you can go to your settings and search for "USB Preferences," then choose "Use USB for... Webcam". Then your phone should show up as a camera option in Zoom/Google Meet settings. I just tested it out and it seems to work!

Hmmm... It's hard to know for sure what the issue is without digging a bit more. Just to confirm, your iPad is connected to your computer via Sidecar, but you are not seeing it as an available target for your Virtual Display in the BetterDisplay settings?

With this configuration (using POP3), your messages aren't stored on Hostinger anymore, so you don't need to worry about hitting your 1GB storage limit.

😕 Yeah, older templates won't migrate well to a flexbox site. But I believe you can disable flexbox (if you're just recreating a site).

💯 The Elgato prompter was released right around the same time I found BetterDisplay. It's tempting, but I agree - I like the flexibility (and price) of this approach.

Jason, sorry you're having trouble. A couple things to check: After you connect your iPad to your Mac, check under your Mac's Display Settings and ensure the iPad is set to "Use as... Extended Display" (not "Default Display" or "Mirror"). Between the native display settings and the BetterDisplay settings, there's a lot of little configurations to get everything working properly - I'm watching back through my video to see if I missed any steps. I honestly don't remember if I manually renamed the display or if that was the default. There have been a few minor software updates since I posted the video that may have affected that; I'm not positive.

Yes, you can continue to use BetterDisplay, but the pro features will be deactivated. Brightness control and a ton of other features will still be available in the free version.

Hmmm... What version of MacOS is your Macbook on? You might try downloading the 1.x version of BetterDisplay and see if that works with your system. The download link can be found right below the main download button on the GitHub page.
