Shaman was my first 60 character and once they get torpor shamans are unstoppable. Also paladin should be higher imo, root+archery isn’t a horrible solo method
Nicely done, agree with nearly everything. One thing you left out about rangers is that they can fear kite animals. I would also argue Paladin probably deserves to be the lowest in B tier or the highest in C tier. Their damage with a 2 hander is not that bad, they still get double attack,. Lull and root are also very useful spells for soloing. Stuns make casters easier to deal with. Some paladin only weapons have some really nice procs as well.
S: Enchanter, Shaman with Torpor A: Bard, Necro B: Druid, Shadowknight, Mage, Shaman without Torpor C: Monk, Ranger, Wizard, Paladin D: Cleric vs undead, Warrior, Rogue F: Cleric vs non-undead This assumes Fungi Tunic and good weapons
Cleric vs undead is A
@@miclam00 Nah, it becomes pretty weak at higher levels. Your best damage spell is 725 max and you're trying to fight things with many thousands of HP, while lacking mana regen. The exception is if you have a manastone in old world, but I consider that outside the scope of this list. Cleric can't farm anything truly valuable anyway in Velious era if they are just trying to fight undead in old world zones.
@8:15 thank you micheal/kraddok! you are an inspiration and an artist!
@7:55 tell us the secrets!
@5:26 more, LORE!!!!!!! lololololol
@4:58 this is the kind of role play, lore, and editing jokes we all want need, and deserve! buy those booze cuz i gave you a tiny gem.
@4:12 LORE!!!!
Bard is an S tier soloer / money maker for their ability to power level. They can make insane amounts of money / DKP power leveling characters to 60 for guilt bots, skipping the grind, etc. DN spiders are their bread and butter at 60
This list is ALMOST accurate, except for monk. It is definitely not B tier. A well geared monk can solo the entire DS room without an issue, including with mort prot up, phinny, and a bunch of other high tier targets (note that phinny is in the solo artist god tier rank).
A well geared monk so a average geared monk.... 😅
I'm not seeing an SK without great gear being that high honestly. Probably B with great gear. Maybe A with fantastic gear.
absolute garbage list
What's your solo list then?
Would love that duo list! Would also love a strategy-type video on Enchanter strategies. Coming back after 20+ years and playing an Enchanter because I never did way back when.
Druid and SK in the same tier? Druids have SoW, top-tier convenience spells, and can quad kite mobs to 60. Snare is amazing too.
As a Bard and Enchanter main, you can do even more with a Bard. Both are S+
Best classes are : Shaman : able to kill the bigest target of any soloer with slow, dots and torpor. Necro : easiest class, powerful and faster than shaman but get no slow for non undead targets. Enchanter : can manage to kill a very bug target like the shaman but it is more risky and you can not farm as fast as necro, shm and mage. Druid : safer than ench, easy like necro, but you will wait for mana between fights like for mage and even more. Mage : easy to play but your character is fragile, you dont have any defensive skill (like life tap, runspeed, feign death, evac ...) only your pet and you have to manage your agro wisely. Best class to farm low and mid targets. Not powerful soloing on one big mob.
Bards are easy S tier lol. Swarm kiting is like 1/10th the kit.
Do you have a link anywhere to share your spreadsheet?
How are you able to just walk around with no one attacking you?
Faction. But even without faction enchanters can do this in lots of different places
I play a main as a Magician so I know all the tricks, the one thing I’ll say other than you being correct they aren’t elite 50-60 compared to shamans and enchanters, we did manage to solo big mobs such as phinny with 2 of us (2 50+ magicians) using chain casting of the earth pet. So if you are a magician and wondering what your best tricks are it’s CoH pulling and chain casting. With that you can duo some of the bigger mobs. Still not on the level of a shaman / monk duo or an enchanter / cleric duo those are king duo in p99.
I don’t think you know what “solo” means buddy.
Lol. Man does not even know the icon. Yet he ranks a Shadowknight A tier???? Obviously he is never played the class. pmslmao
Mage under sk is wild.
Yeah no melee should be above any caster really.
@@civrev Melee in Velious era with top gear are better than Wizards, and any melee class with Feign Death/Root are better than Mages for some content, since they can move through areas and break camps that Mages can't.
@@civrevmaybe you just don’t know how to play the class properly?
Enchanter is my all time favorite mmo class. No mmo ove played since has been able to recreate that gameplay sadly.
Totally agree. I always thought they should have given warriors a bit more than the got in the game.
Ranger def A tier IMO
Couldn't find anything to disagree with here. Solid work.
"I didn't really group at all" and the tile is: SOLO Class Tier List
Warriors Can solo to high level (did it years ago on Troll war), but you need proc gear, i.e clickies, proc weapons, and in general gear very high in dex, beside the normal AC, sta and str. The reason is that many of the same (weaker) Necro spells with dots etc. as you see on SK's also come in the form of proc gear to warriors, but with the difference that a War can have a fast weapon in both hands, and from experience I'll say that Both weapons can proc! as well that you Also can get proc gear that has effects outside the scope of Necro/SK 🤩 It's relatively easy as it is, to solo a war up to 20-30 (note BB and Kurn etc.) and already at lvl 10 will you be able to get the Polished Granite Tomahawk to proc, what gives you both shortly Berserker Strength, as well as the added benefit of not being harmed by normal weapons during the effect (common drop so buy it for low pp early on). wiki.project1999.com/Polished_Granite_Tomahawk There Are a difficult period between about lvl 30-40, depending on what gear you then have, and there Are a number of number of possibilities that can help there, in special if you lvl in Paw, as you are likely to get you hands on some of the whips, that albeit has low damage, however can stun (from lvl 25) while you still do damage (with high enough dex, you'll see a Lot of proc, but avoid haste gear/spells/effects as it Slows procs!). wiki.project1999.com/Gnoll_Hide_Lariat Another relatively cheap proc gear to invest in, that proc from lvl 40, is the Kunzar Ku'juch, that can slow run speed on the target, as well as giving the dot Engulfing Darkness, that among other things prevent the target from running away, while the dot is active (at least no further away that you still can kill it), giving a way to solo in dungeons where a single runner otherwise would be a problem (used it a Lot in Paw, as well as Guk). wiki.project1999.com/Kunzar_Ku%27juch A more expensive investment comes at lvl 50, in the forms of the Blood Point daggers, a fast weapon you can have in both hands, that can Siphon up to 80 hp at each proc, and it proc Often too, meaning you now have a way of healing yourself while killing Very fast 🤩 wiki.project1999.com/Blood_Point In short, while the route for a solo warrior is Very gear dependent, then you can get a warrior that solos Very well.
Great breakdown for a new player, thank you!
Solid list
The Evil race cleric can solo pretty good once you get the quest necklace ( name evades me) that is Cleric and shaman only I think that allows you to cast darkness. You can get it at really low levels and once I got it I was able to solo so much easier. However soloing a cleric is kind of not really the point of it. I always enjoyed grouping with clerics. I have played most classes over the 25 years its been around except the Necro really. Not sure why. I may make one on Quarm since I am there right now.
Is it call symbol of innoruk? I have one on a troll shaman.
@@_greyskol Yep that is it. I loved that thing. When I got it it was amazing how many people had no idea about it and was curious at how I was casing darkness to slow mobs down to kite them lol.
@@alphadragongamingFTW do you play EQ still? I play on P99
@@_greyskol I play on Project Quarm right now. Been having a blast. Have not been on 99 for a while
I soloed all the way to max level... I dunno what you mean "mage slows down." was pretty even all the way through. You just have to pick the right battle fields.
Love enchanter, they are very strong. <--- As you can see its my fav class
A rogue is not that bad solo, all the way to 60 can be done if you had to. You can get in some solo backstabs and kill low blues. Rogues slot into groups easier than anyone else anyway. Paladins, if geared, can solo well. For ex a well geared 60 paladin can handle breaking and soloing efreeti. With the 2hs from Tunare, paladins (sk can also use) DPS really goes up along with a 3 min root proc. I think you owe monks more credit. Many uber geared iksar monks can easily solo good cash camps. They dont need to stress about a charm pet either.
You should make a 17 hour long tier list with all of your “ifs” included.
Sk, was certainly out of order from anything ive seen.
I guess it depends on gear for a Pally, durning live on my server my Pally was in the top 4 on the server, even during the Luclin expansion, as a Human Pal at lvl 60 max, I had no real issues soloing content like Crypt in Seb, Howling Stones etc. I remember once I pafcied my group across the Deep, from one end to the other across the invs bridge with full spawn up all the mobs 55 lvl with no aggro, when lvl 60 was max level. Later on with Planes of Power and AA, I used to solo in Crypt of Decay, getting 7k to 10k slay undead crits on the mobs there. Pallys solo a bit slower, are very gear dependent, but if you kill undead mobs, it`s not that bad. I used to run mana pool 30% to 40% of whatever my max hp were, like in Planes of power I had 9k hp, and mana was at 4k , with Flowing though 15 or something .
^^^ can confirm Tasarian was a badass paladin!!
You still playing any servers?
Necromancer is the king of soloing. Not many can compare. They are fine vs summoning mobs, you just have to be smart about it and keep the mob snared, Dot the crap outta the mob then run away and lifetap in between summons. And they are even better than an enchanter when dealing with undead. They have a mez, they can charm and even heal their pet. They can heal THEMSELVES with lifetap(something an enchanter cannot). They can also Feign Death for safety or splitting. They also can out DPS an entire group of melee in a race.
They lack the 70% slow so unfearable mobs are an issue. Can only deal as well as an Enchanter with undead. Enchanter can mem wipe mobs too as a form of FD. And while Necros have lifetaps, Enchanters have runes and Bedlam, which against a slowed mob is a non-issue. Add to that, super fast cast PBAE stuns.
But Necro DPS is much higher than even a charmed pet. ESP after the charm nerf after PoP. Necros after luclin dominated DPS for a long time. Aggro kiting in areas that normally require a group. Fear kiting went away for the most part after Kunark. No control over where the mob runs can create massive problems.@@janus3555
Enchanter is better
in original EQ necro was king at soloing and still are quite good especially against undead. I can't count how many times fear kite and dot stacking got nerfed over the years
Aquatic ambience. Sounds like my childhood. Brings me back.
Hey man, saw you in game. You help me get my rubi helm. It's Dialtater! Was nice talking with you, have a good one and keep up the good work.
Bard. Back in the early days of Blue server Kunark was the most bonkers solo game. We were able to pull an entire zone like the Overthere, Firiona Vie, Burning Woods, Dreadlands, etc. I maxed out at about 120-150 mobs before the server started to push back with lag spikes causing problems. High risk/reward and very nerve racking, but lots of fun. You can start as early as level 4 i think with your first aoe song on Kobolds in Steamfont.
I tried a bard in qeynos. I got a whole lvl on one swarm of the bugs. It was funny.
@@stephendickinson9929 I tried Kobolds in Steamfont as soon as I had an AoE song. can be done at almost all levels
Great content - keep it up
Nice video, uncle Keith
Wiz must have been hard to classify. Wiz with average gear and no access to mana regen and doesn't play the tics might be C tier, But if you have the gear and access to PotG or a friendly enchanter in the area and a great understanding of game mechanics can do some Amaizing things. 🙂
i don't think i've seen any tier lists for starting eq solo class, good stuff!
I always find it interesting that there are numerous solo tiering videos on You Tube for EverQuest classic, which is a group dependent/grouping incentive type game. Ya'll are playing the game wrong!
I dont miss this game at all, thank you for sharing the painful process with the world.
Hmm mage seem like they should be a-.. guess you don’t have /pet stop ooc regen on p99 though. That definitely changes things a lot on classic era tlp, as it does function.
P99 rules. The whole point of p99 is for it TO BE old news :)
Im playing my bard solo in the 30's just by charm and fear kiting i have zero downtime.
Bards are bar none the best levelers, especially before 50.
