Liveing with nature is a priveledge most of us don't get,
What a BEAUTIFUL VIDEO! Thanks so much for posting. I'm from south GA, but have taken a keen interest in Louisiana life and culture after following a UA-cam channel called "Dat Louisiana Life." It's about a family that has a weekend houseboat and they share all of their MANY outdoor adventures on there.
Q & A Andy did : www.missouririverpaddlers.com/uploads/9/6/1/7/9617123/morp_q_a_andy_bugh.pdf

Thanks for letting me tag along with ya on this magnificent trip. Enjoyed seeing you meeting those folks in the Bayou's. Bless each one of them that were willing to tell us some stories. Hospitable folks for sure. I can't say enough thank you's. God Bless. NW ga.
A very moving video to watch. Andy you did what most peoples want too and are scared to even attempt. May God bless you and all the peoples you met along your trip.
I grew up in the Atchafalaya Basin, but live in the north Arkansas Ozarks. Been here for about 31 years, but still miss the swamp.
Howdy, Thanks for the video. 👍 👍 Any locals by chance renting a small house, cabin, houseboat or shanty house by the month? Preferably with electric and water. Only need room for one adult at the moment and a little dog, and a cat about the size of the ones on this here video. I'm also looking into campers or RV's Just looking for simple, small and humble, nothing fancy. Only need a bedroom. A makeshift kitchen is fine. I do most my cooking on the grill. Many thanks in advance. God bless. 🙏 Much appreciated, C.M. Please message me, if you'd like I can provide my email or phone number.
14:30 you can take the swamp man outta the swamp but you can’t take the swamp outta the swamp man.
Are 15
Well done, and making the trip from Montana to the Atchafalaya with enough joy left to still explore backwaters really shows your enjoyment of the trip. Thanks for sharing!
Please quit making us look like dumbass fuckers!!! You must be related to swamp people!!! 😠

Awesome video man i would love to do a trip like that with my family
love how he just nonchalantly baits the net, no bag, by throwing it in as he's talking
Great scenery; interesting folks living a life that some can only dream of. Thanks Andy!!
You know what, I REALLY enjoyed your video. Thank you.
All I could think about this whole video was bass fishing, and duck hunting
Going to pick up some crawfish tomorrow by BJ's Seafood in Chalmette..yum yum
Lived in berwick la. Back in the 70's
Most interesting and unknown part of the country.
lovw this video but, the background music is really distracting
Thank you for highlighting our great state of Louisiana and our culture.
As a fellow paddler what type of kayak, tent and other provisions did you carry and other good advice would be appreciated. Thanks and Paddle On !!,
My great Uncle drown in that river when his boat flipped. He owned a general store along it's banks. As a kid in the late 70's I visited that store which remained untouched since his passing in the 50's. My Aunt Leona still lived next door. She walked bent at a 90 degree angle at the waist from picking pecans off the ground. One day she couldn't straighten up. The store was stuffed with so many coke and other antiques you could've sold them and retired very young the problem was it was also stuffed with wasps and you couldn't get a foot in the door.
Very well done. Thanks for sharing your journey. I. Grew up just out of New Orleans and was raised in the outdoors. I am now a inshore Charter Captain at the mouth of the Mississippi River. I get to see the stuff in your video every weekend. I STILL watched your whole video and enjoyed it. The locals stories were great. Captain Vic

I miss that swamp.
Really enjoyable. Peaceful.
So honestly, how much weight did you lose on this trip? I like the Atchafalaya as it's one of two rivers that flow entirely through the state to the gulf. I live along the Red, the Atchafalaya is east of us. These multi state navigable waterways are a national treasure. I'm happy to see someone beefing up our environmental protections. You captured some amazing footage there, Andy. Maybe you should put together a short and submit it to the Louisiana Film Prize.
