Superb weather for flying today. I took Max for brunch at Halfpenny Greens new restaurant, Amelias. This was my first visit since Halfpenny Green had completed its transformation, and what an excellent job they have done. The food was delicious and the surroundings first class. Afterwards it was great to be able to catch up with some friends that I hadn’t seen for a while.

2409 Autumn
Переглядів 659 днів тому
There was an autumnal chill in the air this morning. Autumn colours were starting to appear in the trees. I was surprised not to see any floods after the recent storms, but the River Severn did look close to bursting. I flew towards the approaching rain, then raced it back for breakfast.

The Elan Valley is a place with a long and varied history. 4,000 years ago, Stone Age people made Elan their home within the forests of oak, birch and hazel. Later arrivals included Celts and Romans. More recently Elan’s resources have attracted mining interests. Today Elan’s dams and reservoirs provide water to people living in the Birmingham area

Beautiful weather marked the last day of summer. I flew over Alton Towers, Dovedale and Carsington Water, which is the ninth largest reservoir in England.

Another super sunny summer day. I flew over to Wales to take a look at Lake Vyrnwy. The lake is a reservoir in Powys, built in the 1880s for Liverpool Corporation Waterworks to supply Liverpool with fresh water. It flooded the head of the Vyrnwy valley and submerged the village of Llanwddyn

A picturesque morning flight today. Views put me in a spiritual mood. The splendid Shropshire countryside unfolded like a patchwork quilt of pastel shade fields as I flew towards the approaching weather front. Then I wheeled and sored among the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds before heading home for breakfast.

I flew to Sleap again today. This time it was to go to their 1940s Weekend. A great collection of military vehicles and people dressed in period uniforms. Good to catch up with Roy Millington again. Roy and Julian had taken the Abbot self propelled gun to join in the fun.

It was great to catch up with friends for a fantastic few days at Harrier Farm giving XV808 some TLC. Day one air was put in the tires and fuel in the tanks. Then we all had a BBQ at Julians fishing pool. Next day we ran the engine and found a fuel leak. We couldn’t find the cause and decided to go into Bridgnorth in the Abbot for a drink. On the way back we stopped at the Down for a superb mea...
2406 10K longest day

On the longest day I decided to do something different and take VXXY up to 10000ft. I have done this before in other aircraft but this was the first time in an A32 Vixxen. Nice gentle cruise at best rate of climb. No problem.
Aeroprakt👍made in Ukraine☝️👍💪💪💪
Yes Graham, as John Young and I saw for ourselves today, the changes made have given a new vibe to the Halfpenny hospitality suite.
I have one pressed tin metal steel pedal airplane special edition pink in color original unrestored with patina
What are "CleesCruies"?
Its a file name. The Clees are hills. Cruies is a misspelling of Cruise. Im a dyslexic triper.
I keep forgetting how high I used to fly. Lovely up there mate. Please keep sharing 🙏....great video
I drove there a few months ago. There is an airstrip not far from the dam. Cool video.
Thanks. I flew over the air strip.
Brilliant 👍

As ever stunning Gra’ 😊
That's the most wonderful view. Aren't we the luckiest people alive. Your aircraft is amazing and that campsite is becoming Butlins? Wow. Thanks 👍 for sharing
See how hard that rudder is working! Great job by Ray too.
Well done Graham for getting the footage. Awesome stuff to finally see it in the air.
You made a silk purse out of a sow’s ear with that video Graham! Fabulous memory for Geoff.
What a great event! Some wonderful aircraft. I don't know why I didn't attend? Thanks for sharing. As me and thee are both short field trained.....I had to think whether you could have taxied to the runway rather than take off from the displaced threshold and avoid that rough ground. Your aircraft is amazing. Just a thought as I suffer from stone chips regularly on the prop. Again a great video mate with excellent radio Comms. You make me proud.👍😁
Where can we see the documentary?
Is this Harrier still airworthy and able to fly?
ไปคุยกับรัฐบาลอังกฤษอยู่เขายินดีที่จะมอบซื้อขายต่อให้กองทัพเรือไทยบางส่วนไปใช้งาน
Good to see the Hovercraft, a blast from the past and yes, the old Anglo Saxon atmosphere is in peril sadly.
lovely video. I wondered if you were flying today.
Thanks Roger. Nice day for it. Surprised i was the only one flying today.
Go around lol
I was stationed here from 87 to 99 brilliant unit, great times.
Nice memories for me mate ......loved spotting that triangular field that I used as a turning point.👍......I am considering a visit in the near future if Gyroplanes are allowed? Kind regards Paul T
Unfortunately i dont think any rotary traffic is allowed in. May be something the new lease holder could consider changing.
@@foxbatgpw1 misunderstood mate...... nevermind..... please let me know if that situation changes. Kind regards
Bird Dog….The plane that made the Fast-Movers look good when weapons delivery is on the menu….

I might go to halfpenny green tomorrow
That last plane is pretty wild with the mono wheel. Lots of bouncing!
I thought it will slowly rise and turns and slowly zoom away like SW ship😅
Cool video and footage in the cloud Valley :) . Well done getting her safely It was a bit gusty this afternoon.
Thanks Roger
Got to love the sign "Not For Flight." Right.
amazing video, thank you for that
Nice, but in a Foxbat you could have taken the first exit!
Yes of course 🤣
A great video,I lived opposite the airport I remember the black arrows and the Beverly nearly hitting the primiter fence, also watching Don Everalls dove flights. Great days
Excellent vidéo as usual Graham
Thank John.
Wish I could have been there ..❤
first flight of the year. So cool. I'm so envious; Good footage too.
HNY Graham.
Yes very busy
Sounds like it was busy. 👍
Having flown the B Dog for 7 years towing gliders. You never try to 3 point land it in a crosswind.
My grandad flew this actual plane just checked his flight logs,
I love ultralight planes, beautiful to watch.
Becareful not to suck in any of that gravel,or that engine is toast.😊
Nice!..we have a GR3 Harrier in a museum here in NZ 👍🇳🇿
Pilots have a saying that says if it looks rite it will fly rite and that is true for the lancaster. This plane isnt just a plane its engineering, a work of art and a memorial to all those young aircrew from Bobmer Command that never came back. "LEST WE FORGET"
I remember my dad taking me to the last airshow there in the late '60's , can't remember the exact year though.
I guess I don't understand the event so this video does not really tell the story of it. Why doesn't the Harrier fly, where is this, why is this... your audio mix sucks...
I wish the audience were younger students so that living history would live on that bit longer
Those were much worse than what I saw on Saturday.Nice video mate 👍. Very impressive aircraft. Haven't we all done well...the lads who stuck with it. Still enjoying our flying. That video will help some of the flood victims understand the scale of the event. Good work. Kind regards Paul T
Wow 😲. How awful for the folks affected by floodwater in their homes. A graphic film showing the extent of the flooding Graham. All the best to those who are suffering during Natures assault on their homes.❤
