8:49 @ScriptureInsightsLearning I think another synonym of "laying hold" would be to cling to. I'm a visual thinker/learner so the image of laying hold would be akin to "hold on for dear life". Like those water rescues from helicopters: the person being rescued doesn't just have a light grip or is just holding on loosely. It reminds me of President Nelson's warnings that if we are going to spiritually survive, we need to cling to and lay hold to our testimonies of Jesus Christ, and to Him through the Holy Ghost.

Beautiful message😇🙏. I'm following along with my 1835 version that is just such a beautiful book! It has a little bit more in it than the one we have now as it hasn't been altered by carnal men so it'll be fun listening to the difference. Great lesson!!

Thank you, brethren. My chief takeaway this morning is how Mormon and Moroni exemplify the pure love of Christ. It seems to me that their relationship is a "type" of the relationship between Heavenly Father and Christ.

I have been a member of this church for a few decades now and I thought I knew the Book of Mormon pretty well, but I have learned SO much this year. Thank you for the time and effort you both have put into these wonderful presentations. Have a blessed Christmas with your families.

I really loved the discussion about the laying on of hands. Hands representing power and action. Hands were placed on temple sacrifices anciently and so as we make the same action we symbolize sacrificing ourselves in the service of God… powerful!

I am not sure that most of us understand the extent of what it means To truly Love God: "He loves the Lord with all his heart who loves nothing in comparison of him, and nothing but in reference to him, who is ready to give up, do, or suffer anything in order to please and glorify him. He loves God with all his soul, or rather with all his life, who is ready to give up life for his sake and to be deprived of the comforts of the world to glorify him. He loves God with all his strength who exerts all the powers of his body and soul in the service of God. He loves God with all his mind who applies himself only to know God and his will, who sees God in all things and acknowledges him in all ways."

The Book of Mormon….for our day and yet hundreds of thousands of members of our church voted Republican and therefore agreed to refugees/immigrants being torn from their communities, families and the home of the brave! We look on horrified and appalled.

Wait... You're not coming back next year???😭😭. I'm trying to find someone who will approach D&C better than the narrative and I have a feeling you would. I have the original 1835 version written by Joseph Smith, not Brigham Young and eager to study and learn more about that version. I'm staying home this year as well as my kids because we attend church to learn about Jesus Christ not how many wives men need 🙈🙉🙊. Please don't say you're done😭. I mean I totally get it but....
