Regular Sledding

Just out here trying to have a good time
Should Have Brought a Long Track on This Blower Pow Day
Craziest snowfall I have ever seen with 3 feet in just over 24 hours, too deep to try and go into the mountains so we just stayed to some logging roads. Even this was a challenge for the 154.

Marginal snow so I decided to take one of my works snow bike demos out for the day. This is the first time I've ever spent longer than 20 minutes on a snow bike.

Tried a helmet mic and it didn't really work out, if video seems jumpy its because I'm cutting around times I peaked the microphone.

Go Pro settings go messed up and was only able to save some of the day the only thing worse than this footage quality is my riding.

Still super low snow where I'm located. Still getting the hang of the alpha one coming off a twin rail but it for sure a fun sled.

Is that a turbo cat
Yes! A 2023 M8000 with a silber turbo kit.
No that turbo flutter you hear is jus track ratchet🤣🤣🤣🤣 duh
To be fair you are trail ridding in the trees, make your own line it would be easier.
@@kh5063 I don’t have the tree skills to make my own lines yet, where we were riding it’s pretty much one line in the trees!
Looking good!
Getting there!
That sled is sick.
Thanks dude! It was a little too much sled to handle on this trip for me. But most of the time it’s pretty rad!
Did you enjoy booking at the lodge?
@@AlmostGoodSleddingyes the lodge is what made the whole thing worth it! Food at 10-10 staff are just as awesome! Even tho it was 15c a couple days the snow was worst case scenario it was still a great trip
@@RegularSledding thanks.
This dude does not need to be on a turbo lol
No but I can afford and have one so
@@RegularSledding lol true , nothing wrong with that, keep ripping it up man
@@clarencehock3704 its only my second year riding mountain, (8 years of trail) first year on a cat, i work at a dealer so was able to get a decent deal on a turbo kit. Ive had better days than this, Its why I called it the struggle bus. Where I normally ride its not as technical as grizzly lodge so it works better for me there. I was wishing I had a 165 and not 154 that weekend.
Nice. Does it come turbocharged from factory or is it aftermarket?
Aftermarket silber turbo! It pulls harder than a factory turbo but a factory turbo could be tuned to this level
what fuel do you run and what hp do you think ur running? also is this like a constant project or is it similar to a ski doo factory turbo when it comes to reliability?
I’m running 50/50 av and 91 and will be doing less and less until I find the limit. This was the first ride on it and it was pretty pull and go with some clutching adjustment. Time will tell how the kit is I did go with clutching from MDS so we’ll see how it is. I’m running 5 psi and rule of thumb is approx 10 HP per PSI so 210-215 is my guess to the crank. I have seen sleds roll through the shop with 1800 miles and still good compression running silber kits.
looks good... I am always looking at MAYBE putting one on...I have a Mtn.Cat AND an 8000 RR..... let me know how it goes...
I did run into 2 detonation codes on the trail. But off trail the thing was good and pulls hard at 5 psi. Could have been bad gas I have since drained the tank and added more av gas with shell 91 I’m not super impressed with the clutching silber provides and have gone with a clutch kit for silber turbos from mds clutching! Hoping to make some more videos of the sled in turbo form if the season co-operates!
where ya to b'y?
Northern BC b’y
@@RegularSledding looks like april
Looks like fun 😂I’ll stick to the trail system
Your sled sounds like shit. Low end sounds terrible.
While I appreciate your concern, the issue is related to the tuning I believe so ill be changing up tunes next time I go out
did you like the 146? or would rather a 154 ?
The 146 got around okay, it went everywhere my 154 speedwerx went. That being said we didn’t go crazy. If I could only have one at 3000-7000 feet I would get the 154 if you see lots of powder snow but if you see harder snow I’d get a 146
@@RegularSledding we are picking one up and have a choice of 146 or 154. 146 looks fun but would it struggle more with dad or a full size rider ? What would you pick haha
@@Just3adventuresI can’t honestly make a recommendation. Your dealer should be able to I have no idea on skills level. Terrain and snow type
@@RegularSledding no problem have a great season snowmobiling! Happy new year
Where abouts are you from?
Northern BC, Prince George area!
@@RegularSledding nice. were live in southern alberta but ride fernie mostly
Nice sleds
Thanks!
Hey what gopro u got and where is it mounted? Thx! btw nice ride u got :)
Go pro hero 9 shooting 2.7k at 60fps! It’s mounted like muskoka freerider under the visor he has a video on it!
@@RegularSledding Awesome keep it up
what elevation are you at? seems to do alright for a 600 in deeper snow, but yea still a 600.
Riding 4000-6000 it’s still in break in mode aswell!
@@RegularSledding a little lower then. Would probably be a dog above 10,000
@@bertrenolds5 ya nothing here above 10,000 really most we see is 8000
Where are you riding?
This was Barkerville BC area!
Only problem I see it’s a cat but you’re having fun so all good
I’m not brand loyal, I worked at Polaris dealers rode Polaris for 8 years now I work at a cat dealer and ride a cat. I think all brands make a good sled
I respect that, and your honesty
@@patricktaylor6299I try to be honest. I’ll have an honest review and comparison of the sled at the end of the season. If I didn’t like how the sled handled I wouldn’t ride it. The discount at the dealer is nice but not nice enough for me to ride something I don’t like!
@@RegularSledding I always or for last 15 years ran summits had one cat hard on gas and lagging when in deep snow
Thoughts on the catalyst?
It’s a great chassis easy to throw around. It’s easier to do slow speed turns than the current ascender alpha. The motor is great for a 600 but at the end of the day it’s still a 600. I didn’t go nuts because it’s one of my dealers demos and it was its first ride. I plan on doing detailed review videos of both my sled and a catalyst if I have enough seat time on one
where was this?
It was in wells bc!
awsome riding man, also that arctic cat rips i want one so bad and cant wait till i turn 18 so i can get one
Thanks dude! Couldn’t really go full out since we still have such low snow! They for sure rip comming off an 850 Polaris
How do you like the elevation kit?
I haven’t ridden a stock one tbh, I was able to scoop up a like new kit. I like how it handles the sled is effortless to carve. I did notice it had ALOT of ski pressure when riding the trail. I will try and tune it out with some spring preload
Cat or nothing 🐈
bro can ride good shit man
Idk how you guys ride these sleds. I bought one a couple years as my first sled and could not ride it to save my life. So found a low km hardcore twin rail I’m gonna get used to riding may come back to alphas or catalyst in future
coming from a twin rail the first 40 minutes on this thing I was falling over from over riding it. Just had to slow it down and then I was able to ride better. I prefer it so far over a twin rail. Maybe my opinions will change through out the season
Great video man! Where are you guys riding?
Thanks man! This was in Wells BC
What's the red light on the gauge?
sled kept thinking I was out of oil but it was full when we left the truck, new sensor is on the way!
Yall spend more time on the ground than anything, 😂😂😂
Me and brock go for the experience, also this is an entire season condensed into 30 minutes!
Well as long as your having fun I guess that is all that matters looks like you guys are having a blast, I wouldn’t be having fun but I had to learn quick or there would be deadly consequences riding in Alaska
@@Legoinry there is terrain around here like that but we generally avoid it, too much risk for something that’s meant to be fun!
🙌
Lame get some slp twin pipes and there clutch kit then you got a 9r killer
those are next season, sled was brand new in the fall so just riding out warranty
Awesome vid!👍👍👍
Thanks I appreciate it!
Gaaaayy
:(
Where you riding at?
Yanks peak BC!
