The whole album is a studio recording for Hmv . It was published as Long Playing record. I hv the original LP. One of the best Darbari ever performed even by the great Ustad Vilayat Khan.

Thanks for sharing! I was there too! An outstanding concert (Proms 42 1981). I also have the whole thing recorded on cassette off the radio broadcast. The last set with Ustad Vilayat (with a young Zakir Hussain I think) playing Rag Bhairavi as the sun came up was the highlight of an already otherworldly event.

महान उस्ताद अल्लाउद्दीन खाँ साहेबांच्या स्मरणार्थ कार्नेगी हॉलमध्ये या मैफलीचे थेट रेकॉर्डिंग करण्यात आले. हा राग मांझ खमाज खानसाहेबांनी निर्माण केला होता. आणि तेव्हापासून हा एक अतिशय लोकप्रिय राग बनला आहे. हा भक्तीचा राग आहे, आणि अतिशय गोड आहे. मला दिवंगत रवि शंकर यांना ऐकण्याचा योग अनेक वेला आला . त्यांचे कार्यक्रम मी बेळगाव., पुणे, सांगली , नवी दिल्ली , कुवैत यथे पाहण्याचे भाग्य मला लाभले. उमदे , हसतमुख , गौरवर्णीय व्यक्तिमत्व अशी त्यांना दैवी देणगी होती. त्यांनी भारतीय संगीत पाश्चिमात्य लोकांना सोपे करून त्यांनी त्याविषयी गोदी निर्माण केली. पुढे त्यांचे बीटल्सनी त्यांचे शिष्यत्व पत्करले . त्यामुळे त्यांची कीर्ती जगभर झाली. ते एक आध्यात्मिक वृत्तीचे कलाकार होते. त्यांचे संगीत क्षेत्रातील योगदान पाहून भारत सरकारने त्यांना भारत रत्न हा किताब बहाल केला. त्यांनी तरुण नवोदित कलाकारांना प्रोत्साहित केले. या विडिओत त्यांची आणि त्यांचे मेहुणे जागतिक कीर्तीचे सरोद वादक आली अकबर खान यांच्या बरोबर अगदी शांतपणे जुगलबंदी सादर केली. तबल्याची साथ अल्ला खान यांनी समर्थपणे सांभाळी. एका संथ सुरुवातीने त्याची सुरुवात केली आणि हलाऊहाळू त्यात रंग भरला. सिंतर आणि सरीद ही दोन्ही वाद्ये वाजवायला कठीण आहेत . सरोद वाजवणारे कलाकार गाडी बोटावर मोजनुयाईटके आहेत . ती दोन्ही वाद्ये इतक्या मुलायमपणे वाजवली आहेत , त्यावरून त्यांची तपश्चर्या कित्येक वर्षांची आहे अगदी निर्विवाद. दिवे बंद करावेत आणि शांत वातावरणात ही जुगलबंदी ऐकावी . त्याची गोदी अवीट आहे.. आपापल्या क्षेत्रातील तीन जादूगार एकत्र येऊन निर्मिती करतात असे क्वचितच घडते; आणि हे तिघेही त्यांच्या सर्वोच्च कामगिरीच्या पातळीवर आहेत; आणि त्यांनी असा मधुर राग वाजवण्यासाठी निवडला आहे. या तीन महान कलाकारांच्या स्मृतीस नम्र अभिवादन !

I heard ostad,ji sevarel tims. In1970 at doverlane music conference I had good luck to hear duet ofostad Aliakbar and pondit Rabisnkar with Allarakha in11970 at doverlane. still i most fond of classical music. now .

During 1969-70 I had the privilege of sitting on stage during his concerts in Mumbai. He was and still is my Paramguru. I have not seen such a humble person who was revered like God the world over. He used to chat with me, lnspite of me being a nobody. Such great people take birth only when God wishes. I cherish those memories. I love you Guruji.
