AUTOMATIC MAN!!!
Hell Yes!! See you guys at The Joy Room on the 20th!!
What's up Avery!
That drummer is the shit!!! Yup you gotta surround yourself with musicians that are young and hungry .You sound great Philip.
Truth!!
Mark. 👍
Nice Cornwalls!!
Rock On
The man Avery!!!!! 🤘🔥🔥🔥
Avery is killing it, we can see the musical connection between you two. Love this track.
he absolutely is
Truth!
I'm happy! 😁
Excellent Mark. I've played with a few of your past drummers but this one you got now is the best!
Thanks for rockin’ us in Maine.
🤘🏻👍🏻
This cut has a 60's psychedelic vibe about it, (to me)..... Very cool
Lar is like give me a board or a guitar because I'm about to shred right now
1:00 Slow Death 6:00 Vengeance is mine 12:50 Death Noise (partial) 🤘
this has one of the greatest leads ive ever heard
This amazing man. I just stumbled across blind illusion and it lead me here. 👍
Way cool!!!
Where's Ler?
Mark loves to thow leses name around
C.O do ya' know I'm being very kind. I could have you blocked and your comments dropped in a heartbeat. But this is America and freedom of speech is a beautiful thing (even if the speech is quite slurred) wine on you cwazy wymand with love and respect MHB
Mark took all credit to keep all royalties to self, olsen playing the riffs
You are the bassist who was with the band from 1979 to 1980 right? Were you the original bassist? As the band formed in 1978.
Yes I was the original bass player, less just filled in before I joined, less was putting his work into his own sound.he didn't want anything to do with blind illusion. Me Bret hern and mark were the original the music was arranged by all of us. Truth
Mind Confusion.....First of all The first Bassist for Blind Illusion was indeed Les who learned how to play by learning and playing our songs. He was also in the DeAnza High Jazz band respectively. Les wrote the bass line during the drum soloish breaks in Rocker's Unite. When Les left the first time it was because his uncle told him in order to become a great musician on bass he should pursue a more Jazz/Rock Fusion group. This was around a year after he joined. No disrespect to C.O who reluctantly stepped in for about a year and a half. The way Les came back to Blind L for his second term was he called me one day to come and Jam with I believe it was Mark Edgar on drums and a really good Keyboardist.Les had improved quite alot. This short lived unit was Sons of Illusion. This to me was Les's way of paying homage to Blind Illusion. C.O announced he was quitting and Les stepped right in .
@@markbiedermann7467 Thank you! I got an original copy of The Sane Asylum this year. Thanks for all the good tunes!
@@jamescooney-callahan6631 Thank you brother! I still love all the guys I've played with. It's nearly heartbreaking when someone such as C.O tries to rewrite a history for a band that he is actually receiving major credit for with the release of the material he played on. Blind Illusion Ultimate Anthology vol 1 The Likewise Sessions. Being able to read this thank you from you however makes it all worthwhile!
Great choice for Les to start Primus, his bass sound needed that forefront sound to shine.
Tom killed the bassline! badass playing all around.
Would love to hear an interview about this time. What it was like rehearsing with the members and what the crowds were like and the various venues.
The Nuremberg show was legendary! I´ve been to over 500 shows over the last 35 years and that one was in my Top 20. So much heart, soul and dedication!
Hats off to the sheer musical genius! Cheers from Germany...
Dave Dreese played a demo of this for me...one of my 1st introductions to metal, this, Sane Asylum and Psychadelic Symphony. \m/
Very well done!
This blows my mind thank you so much
Nice ballet.
yeah right I think the opening resembles Cheerleading but ballet......hmmmmm
Monkey Steals peach suite.....🥵
I met yall around the year of this show, but it was in wilmington, Delaware. The band came into the deli I worked at that was next to the hotel yall stayed at . It's been crazy long time ago. I believe I actually quit my job the same night. Went to the show with the band, and I hung out before and afterward. I do recall you went on a long walk with me to pick up favors that day. Thanks for the memories, that to this day , I won't forget. I'm happy to see that after all these years, you are still doing what you do. Best wishes..
That such a valuable memory man, glad you got to experience that 🤝
Larry Lalonde as in this band AND The Possessed, hard to believe when all you are familiar with is him in Primus.
Ok so wheres walldo.
This is the wall in Xian the old capitol of China. Do hup is somewhere back in the past in my youth. I am reading inside your comment with great joy as I am to return to my school soon for a visit!!!!! EMITUOFU
I was a rodie for blind illusion in1980. Awesome band alverado Park was hopping
🤘🖤
Is this the Fab Mab?
Yep^_^
I was listening to a drum roll and the guy was holding his sticks up in the air ? Is this a zappa-esqe production ?
For me it sounds a little like soad from the 80s 😅
Wow all this time listening to primus never knew this band existed...sounds like a mix of Megadeath and Rush
Never knew les Claypool was in this band...makes since...so much Rush influence
Playing a Rickenback with a pick by the looks of it
@@FerencHonkoop That is actually Adam Gates in the video Les's understudy.Les is on the recording and never plays with a pick.
@@markbiedermann7467 Ah yes I overlooked that in the beginning of the film, thanks for pointing it out.
@@markbiedermann7467yeah I remember Adamy

I wonder if Chuck Schuldiner was a fan? I ask because it reminds me of later Death and Control Denied.

Did you study the Tai Chi handset as well?
Fantastic
Is les claypool in the band yet at this point?
No, this is the second b@ssist Chris Olsen. He w@s Les's repl@cement s Les h@d just left Blind Illusion to le@rn J@zz B@ss
@@markbiedermann7467 what is exactly the chronological order of the bassists of Blind Illusion, if I may ask?
@@glfriendliness9793 Oh shit!!!!!! Les Claypool 1978 to early 1979 Christopher Reed Olsen 1979 to summer of 1980 Les Claypool returns summer 1980 to 82 I think. Oh fuk who's next? Craig Maracich 82ish to 83 ish whenever we had keyboards Craig was on Bass Not real sure about the dates....Next uo for the Blind SUN SESSIONS IS MARK SEARLE ON BASS who then moves to Guitar for the Trilogy of terror .Bass on Trilogy of Terror and The Slow Death Demo is Gene Gilson.Les Claypool returns in 1987 to record The Sane Asylum. Also The Medicine Show. Next up on Bass is Vern McElroy in 1989. In 1990 ish comes Joerg Eichner on Bass and songwriting. The next couple of years it was Joel Paulle for a minute Evan Barnes for a minute then Blind Illusion went on hiatus until Danny Harcourt on Bass I think. The Demon Master years of killer Stoner Metal! Danny ut in alot of years on and off with Blind Illusion and is currently my Bassist for The GhostKings. After Danny comes Harald O Oimoen and the return of Progressive Thrash Metal. After Harald O comes Bassist Virtuoso Tom Gears.
@@markbiedermann7467 so that’s a boat ton of bassists! So Les was bassist when I was age 6 years of age! Daaaayyyuuum!!!!
@@markbiedermann7467 I wasn’t expecting such a lengthy answer. I take for granted how long ago y’all started! I do remember that the song credits on The Sane Asylum listed dates back to the 70’s, so I knew that y’all were of the old school Bay Area progheads!
Looks like a bunch of Millennial metal hipsters 😄
Did anybody remaster the tape demo going around in the 80's ?.. Cool upload. Been a long time. Erik says what's up Mark and thanks Larry for the kgb. 👽
If you are speaking of the Medicine Show we will see. Keep an eye out for Blind Illusion Ultimate Anthology series Vol 2 coming soon on Cult Metal Classics out of Greece! 1981 to 1986
Remember all the good times listening to this demo tape back in the day... think I was 16 years old. These guys were my hero's. Erik says what's up Mark🙄
