Day in the Life - CFSM Project

Join us for a day in the life of our researchers on the Conjunctive Freshwater Saltwater Management project!
Watch as our researchers spend the day in the field - collecting groundwater and surface water samples and data. This data will them be used in a new tool called SWAT-MODFLOW-SALT to evaluate scenarios of combining water sources with various levels of salinity and optimize blending strategies which prevent potential harm to soils, crops and water resources.
This project is still in developmental stages, so current efforts are in gathering data on the fluctuation of naturally occurring saline levels and other data points throughout the Red River Basin.
